Mikaela was born during an eclipse. A lunar eclipse, being specific. Maybe that's why she came up like this. She had a completely normal first year of life. She learned to crawl and eat properly and spent asleep most of her first months. In summary, a regular baby with nothing special. But then she turned two, and she didn't talk, like she was supposed to. Instead, she started solving toddler's puzzles and riddles faster than she should've. John and Mariah thought they just had a very intelligent girl.

In the next four months, Mikaela met four therapists and three psychiatrists more. There was no way of denying it after seeing the IQ tests, done over and over again, and the way she solved logical problems like she was learning the colors. Brain scan after brain scan, doctor after doctor, all by the excuse of her talking stage: they wanted to get into her brain just to see how a prodigy child's brain worked like. After all, they didn't see the birth of a new Paganini or Einstein or Mozart every other day. By the age of five, Mikaela had already met five different therapists and psychiatrists, been to three different hospital for her brain scans, taken more blood tests than a kid ever should've, and been interned for a month at a "Hospital inpatient care for children with difficulties."

Mika grew up changing schools. She never stayed too long in a school before she got transferred to another school. It was kind of weird, she never understood why her parents were so worried about it. After all, it was always the same story: She got bored in her classes, stopped doing nonsense homework, her school report card was a shame and, when her parents explained the directors that she was different, they'd promote her to the older grades just to prove her. She never stayed too long after that.

The third one, a school ran by an ex-military. Three months. The next two ones were regular ones. A year for both of them. However, anyone who ever knew her in the school aspect would agree that little Miss Hendricks was a headache for everyone. Finally, when she turned seven, she managed t say her first non-stuttered sentence. It all seemed like she was going to be a normal kid. When she was eight, she showed her first glimpse of magic. Since then, her mother showed her the wizarding world, proud that her little girl would go to the same wizarding school as her.

She wasn't just in shock, she was lost. How was she supposed to live in a world without her? But she didn't allow herself to grieve, not now. Right now, her dad needed her. He didn't show up to his job the next two weeks. Didn't step out of his room. She learned how to cook a proper breakfast and all the things her mom used to take care of. She was the one who helped John and dragged him out of his hell, until he was able to come back and be a dad to Mika. Nowadays, they still miss her. Mikaela wishes she was with her. Hogwarts is harder when you're alone.

She got sorted into Hufflepuff, thanks to her big heart and will to help, she got a very great experience during her first year, quickly acquiring a popularity, and winning the nickname of "Hufflepuff's finest". That summer, an American family moved next to her house. Her parents decided to make a small lunch to get to know the new neighbors, the Hendricks family and their four kids. One of them was her age! She was nice the whole time. She swore no one heard her mutter 'a bunch of cookies' in that weird, American accent that kid had, but somehow, when they were leaving, he whispered to her ear the exact same sentence on her British accent.

It was during their second year. Charlotte basically saved her life by stopping her from slipping towards the forbidden forest when she heard whispers in it. She had a life debt with her since then. A debt so deep she even took advantage of her friends from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons to gather information about Lottie's family, and ended up helping her to get rid of them. That, and the fact that, one day, during her fifth year, three weeks after her fourth breakup, she received a letter from the most annoying person on the world: John.

She graduated Hogwarts with good grades, but didn't lose contact with Charlotte. Instead, she grew into some kind of spy for her. She became a journalist, traveling around the world to gather plants... And information. However, when her daughter's problems started... She often declined a trip or two because Mikaela had another brain scan, a problem at school or had to spend the night at the hospital again. When Mikaela was ten, Mary traveled to Greece to gather information about one of the Lantsov's secret bases. She already had decided that this was going to be her last trip. She had already missed half her daughter's life, she did not want to miss her life at Hogwarts. This was it. The last mission before she retired. She had to pay off that debt.
