Once again, after noticing the movement of his teammates, Frederick abandoned his post and joined Harlan and Rosaline. They had practiced the formation several times during training, but this was the first time Buckley had executed it in an actual match. The three of them shot forward at high speed toward the same target, Rainwood, forming a triangle with Montgomery at the front. At the first opportunity, Frederick flanked the Slytherin from one side while Everhart did the same from the other. In the blink of an eye, the Beater was falling through the air, knocked off his broom by Harlan.
Frederick celebrated with a quick pump of his fist, but as he sharply turned his broom to race back toward the hoops as fast as possible, he realized too late that the damage had already been done. Slytherin’s score had climbed to one hundred points. He grunted in frustration as he crossed the pitch to return to the three hoops and passed @Charlotte Winfield along the way, the opposing team’s Keeper and captain. Their encounter lasted only a second as they flew in opposite directions, but it was long enough for Buckley to glare at her darkly. She had done exactly what he had done moments earlier and that did not make him happy.
Back in his original position, Frederick quickly counted the remaining players still in the air. A mix of disbelief and excitement crossed his face when he realized that only two Slytherin players were left on the pitch. Inevitably, he smiled.
