🅆ait! Really?” She looked surprised in disbelief. It put her at ease seeing that he took it as a joke. The moment he mentioned recognizing her from class, she immediately lit up as she remembered. He was really the same year as her. That explained why he had seemed familiar to her. Watching him lower his gaze, she became very interested in the poor weeds beneath her boots of a sudden. Hopefully not from anything embarrassing her again. Turns out, he approached the strange metal frame. Her curiosity quickly replaced the awkwardness. The thing looked old, as it should be qualified as junk left from Hogwarts. Skylar crouched down a little beside him. Her muddy gloves extend the touch on the curve of it. “It looks cursed.” She shrugged. “… I mean from the hand of peeves or some naughty students.” A crooked smile appeared before helping him put the things aside, clearing the scattered glass.

The gust of the strong wind came again, blowing the leaves and her hair in one direction. More groans rose from the group nearby, who tried to get things done, but the piles they had just cleaned collapsed again. For Skylar, it felt nice in the fresh air, but it should have been someplace that was breathable! Erkk… How long do I have to be here? She looked up at the sky as she thought. At least, Richard continued their conversation, so she could distract herself from this messy ground.

“Nahh… It happened to be my unlucky day.” Sigh, it was not that she regretted what she had done. She regretted getting caught. Skylar pitied herself, who understood the risks perfectly well, but was not being more careful and cautious. Maybe that was the problem with being young. “I got caught entering the Forbidden Forest.” She said it casually, like someone admitting they forgot their homework. “Apparently that’s considered ‘reckless endangerment’ or whatever.” She quoted her phrase with her fingers and rolled her eyes. “A bit dramatic if you ask me.” Her paranoia kept glancing into the woods from time to time. “Technically, I only stepped in for a few minutes.” Another pause followed before she gave a suspicious look, avoiding his eyes. Then she added her honesty, “Okay. Maybe… longer than a few minutes.” She turned back to Richard with an arched brow. “…Do I really look like the out-of-trouble type?” she asked.

"Cool." Paul smiled, giving the girl his typical crooked smile, then looking back at the stick he was trying to move away, focusing.

Paul nodded when she confirmed they could cooperate. "Alright... we can start with the branches on this spot. Then, we try to stand up that boundary marker o'er there and when we're done... I don't know, we could try to help another group." Suggested the boy.
But the Headmaster said we weren't here to socialize, rather don't push it, Paul. Ran through his mind, as he turned around to check on the old man.

Seeing he was sitting on his fishing chair, with a drink in his hand, Paul grinned. "That old man... he's got a style." Paul thought aloud, in an amused manner, shaking his head. "Wanna guess what it is he's drinking? Bet it's nowhere near water."

Avery spoke again, this time introducing herself, so Paul's eyes flicked to her, and he breathed in to talk: "Paul. Nice to meetcha, Ave." The boy then paused, nodding to her follow-up question. "Yeah, I am. I've seen you around, too."

Paul watched as she put on her gloves. Smart. He didn't have them. He was likely to suffer when trying to do manual stuff. But then again, we're wizards. We can use magic! Ran through his mind. "Hm, smart choice... the gloves, I mean. Do you not, by any chance, have a spare pair I could borrow?"

As Avery kept rambling about the place they were supposed to clean, Paul shrugged. It made sense to be there. "Well, that's the point of a detention, from the teacher's view right? The messier, the better, 'cause the more work we'll have." His practical mind tried to rationalise. "Plus, this is outside, which is a plus. I prefer it to staying inside." And the Headmaster probably does too.

He heard some knocking sounds from his left, so he turned his head sharply that way, frowning. "What's that? Did... did ya hear it?" Asked the boy, his gaze still on the trees nearby, as he was trying to find the source.

Avery was right, complaining about the weather. There was a clash of thunder and it looked like it was going to start to rain soon. "You can always cast Pluvia Velo, ya know? It's an umbrella charm. But you'll have to hold your wand with one hand all the time, and you won't be able to do any other spells, which sucks." Uttered the boy. "But hey! We're not made of sugar! A little rain won't kill us!" Called the boy in a motivating manner.

Rosaline Everhart, a model student with basically straight Os—excluding some subjects—who had never been into trouble, fell into the trap all by her own fault. Out of the joyous, mischievous, playful Gryffindor first years, the young Everhart was merely a student who would comply with the rules. Obviously, something went wrong, and at the very moment before dawn, she’d need to rise and shine and show up at the edge of Hogwarts to complete her detention.

It was not the most fortunate nor the most comfortable position to be in. Rosaline hadn’t told her detention to any of her friends since how would someone brag about receiving detention? Maybe someone who was ostentatious, but certainly not her. The motivation was so simple; she wanted to replicate the little shenanigan her cousins had accomplished at the school, which was selling fake secret passage maps. It was merely a joke. Perchance the day had simply come, the day she was in the lion pride for too long. She utilized her drawing skills and spare old parchments and conspired with a certain someone, making her first counterfeit secret map. The prototype wasn’t supposed to be leaked, yet it had been called out by a professor when she tried to sell it to another first-year student.

Guilty was charged. That was why she was here.

Dragging her feet, the air still thin and cold, fog lingering, the young Everhart, who hadn’t successfully passed down the legacy from her cousins, arrived at the detention location. Odd. It was the first thought Rosaline had. Her eyes widened, comprehending what she had seen; almost half of the students at Hogwarts were here. What happened to the management of this school? The fact that she was here had already made her lose the right to judge other people, yet she was dumbfounded for a moment. Pursing her lips, she didn’t know how to react and stood there for a minute, motionless, not really minding the surroundings.

Perhaps it was bad sleep, plus her reputation as a well-behaved girl was on the line until Erast, her long-lasting old friend, showed up and greeted her; she hadn’t observed the crowd and was oblivious about who was here with us. Though she had no idea what Erast might’ve done to get him in this detention, she supposed he was as bewildered as she was to see each other in these circumstances. Rosaline forced a smile on her face, the cheerfulness not reaching her eyes at all. “Erast! That was my question too. How do we end up here?” She greeted him back with a soft voice, both of them looking equally tiresome. “What could we say… I’ve yet to wake up so early and need to do manual labor immediately.” Letting go of her worry of others finding out about her misdeeds, she soon grew a sense of sharing guilt with everyone here, since her friend was here too. Wait, her friends were here. As her ocean gaze darted around, more familiar faces had shown up. Leo Noxley, whose presence was perplexing to her. Cecilia Merrick, wasn't Cece just appointed to be the Slytherin prefect? A thousand question marks rose in her mind.

She had only met Leo’s eyes as Erast walked toward him and greeted him. The two boys always had an amusing dynamic to observe, and she had no idea when they had become so close with each other. Rosaline managed to wave at Leo and Cece with a sweet smile before she saw a boy with black hair she had not yet met before, seemingly an upperclassman, approaching her. He spoke nicely and introduced himself. Though Rosaline hadn’t known why he picked her as the partner of detention, he looked very friendly, and what was the harm if she could know more people at Hogwarts? None.

“Good day, Zach. I’m Rosaline. Yeah, I was finding someone to do the work too. Glad to know you.” She answered gently with a bright grin. At this point she gave up on the thoughts of feeling embarrassed; the number of students getting detention was out of imagination. She had already stopped fathoming everything she had perceived. She wondered what the reason was that Zach was here; he looked nothing like someone who would cause any crime, but maybe, just like her, people could do unpredictable things. As she took a pair of dragonhide gloves, she picked the ones that were a bit nicer, and another boy had come nearer to them, then another. Rosaline recalled the memories of both of them from Quidditch; one should be a Ravenclaw and the other must be a Hufflepuff. After they spoke, Rosaline introduced herself with a sweet smile. “Morning. My name is Rosaline. How about you two?” She swiftly used a question to avoid the possible confession of her stupidity. Not really wanting to spoil her image with the people she had met for the first time, though she secretly was curious about what all of them had done. Glancing at the boys, she was probably the youngest among them. The Gryffindor girl had no idea what her detention would be like from now on.

The boy suggested clearing out the branches first. I nodded at him, "Sure, seems like a plan.". To his comment about the headmaster, I added chuckling, "Definitely. That's surely gonna be the talk of the year. He then introduced himself as Paul. He asked if I had an extra pair of gloves, which I did. I stuck my hand in my pocket and handed out the gloves to him. "Here you go, I took an extra when they were handed out earlier. I um.. like to be prepared."

I started to gather a bunch of branches, twigs and leaves in one place. In the meanwhile, I noticed a swarm of ants roaming about in a chaotic manner. Looks like the ants are preparing for the storm. Ughh, rain also means insects, just great, I sighed heavily. I got back to work again, there was an awful lot to do.

When Paul replied to my previous ranting, I added, "I guess, but the headmaster does consider the owlery to be much messier. In comparison to that, this is bearable I guess. I diverted my mind back to our task, I decided to give those rusted old spears that were provided, a bit of use. I was snipping off dried plants when I heard a light knocking on wood. As I was about to turn towards the direction of the sound, Paul exclaimed, "What's that? Did... did ya hear it?" I turned to face the woods and said, "I did, it kinda sounds like... knocking? Perhaps it is a woodpecker. I mean, birds do communicate before storms, and woodpeckers well,.. peck on wood. But I'm not sure, it doesn't really sound like one, it could be something else, it is quite gusty after all."

Though it seemed like nothing, that weird unsettling feeling came back. I don't know why I was fretting about it. There are all sorts of creatures in the forest, and for a girl who grew up in a house near the woods, and often playing there, this shouldn't have been a problem.

Paul's voice brought me out of my thoughts, he spoke about the umbrella charm. I replied, "We could, but unfortunately, I'm not that good at casting that spell. (I don't have that spell in my trunk yet) But you're right, it's only rain, and my main concerns involve dirt, mud, and insects." Oohh I hate insects. Talk about having insectophobia

I then asked, "I hope you don't mind me asking, but what brings you to detention today? My reason is a bit... um... weird."

XXth June 2026

Lauren tensed as Rosie asked her whether she had a particular reason for vandalising the moving portraits. She didn't really want to tell her about what she had actually felt when she vandalised the portraits. There had been something more to it than mere rage and fury at her siblings. Something darker. But she guessed that she could only tell the ever-so-curious Rosie the truth. She didn't want to lie to any of her friends. As twisted her moral values were, she wasn't one to hide things from some of the only people she genuinely trusted and liked.

Hesistantly, Lauren opened her mouth to speak. "So... firstly, don't be mad at me for saying this, but... it had something to do with the Dark Arts. Like... I actually wanted to destroy. I wanted revenge. I was... a mindless maniac for a moment. Like I only wanted to cause harm to everything I saw, everything I touched. And then I came across that really fancy portrait, as you might put it. I expressed my anger on it. I took out my quill and actually forced my weight onto it. It was... a good feeling. Satisfying, I'm afraid. It was kind of twisted. But I really wasn't thinking about who I was harming. In other words, I just didn't care. I probably wouldn't have cared if you were next to me. I probably would have scratched your ears out. I mean, I couldn't control it. I felt like I was possessed by dark magic. ANd I guess that makes me dangerous... to everyone. Imagine it was Solomon Lear. He would probably have expelled me right away. Maybe... maybe my family's right. I am unworthy. I am worthless. Maybe nothing will become of me, and I'll just get expelled in the future. Maybe I don't deserve anything. Not even my family's abuse. Maybe it's a waste of space for me to exist. Maybe I shouldn't have been born at all! I... I don't deserve you! You're so nice and caring and intelligent and I'm just evil! I harm others! I don't want to, but I can't stop! I wanna die!"

What were you saying? Lauren asked herself sharply. Do you really trust Rosie enough to tell her all this? The only person you should actually tell this to is Briar, your best friend! What if she tells other people? What if she hates you for it? What if she makes everyone hate you for it? Even worse, what if she somehow manages to tell this to Felix and Arianna? And then maybe they can gloat and tell your parents about your admitted defeat? You can't trust people with this information! It's way too confidential! Cursing herself, Lauren bit her lip.

She bit it harder still, and she could begin to taste something metallic and wet. It probably was blood. But Lauren simply bit deeper into it. It felt oddly saatisfying. Like justice. She was balancing the scales of wounding the man in the portrait by wounding her own lip. No one probably cared anyway. Well, maybe Briar. But even her best friend might not actually like Lauren, inside...

Snap out of it, she told herself. Focus 100% on your detention. Focusing on the torture will make it ten times more intense, I know it. And that would be true justice. You've got to serve it. Do gruelling work. It's the least you deserve.

Biting her lip again, her teeth met with pain so excruciating that Lauren felt she was going to faint, she bent down to clear the branches. It felt... good. Probably because of her twisted sense of justice.

As she moved a branch, she heard Rosie mutter, "I really am not looking forward to doing this."

But as Lauren heard it, her instinctive response was simply a "but I am."

Crap, she thought immediately. Now she was a certified freak to Rosie. No, a freak and a criminal. How sweet life was.

Life as an upperclassman was often romanticized. Seen through the upturned eyes of new students who struggled to plant their own feet beneath them, the larger, longer-tenured disciples of academia appeared composed, certain, even intimidating at times. So put together, so riddled with knowledge gained through years of rigorous tutelage. Some young pupils idolized their seniors for their mental acumen, the steady set of their hands, or the firm beat of their heart in the face of adversity. What those young minds generally failed to understand was just how naturally such things came with time. There was nothing exceptional about elder students but for the fact they had been born prior, and thus spent more time at the institution. Their juniors would learn with time what the upperclassmen all knew. It was easy to obtain knowledge when it was beat into your skull every day for six years; simple to perform a movement with hands that had rehearsed it a thousand times; effortless to maintain courage when there was nothing more to lose. What couldn’t be seen through the widened gaze of a first year were the long hours, the tears shed and the blood that made them run red.

Those composed, put-together upperclassmen had learned things they wished they could forget, and oftentimes the only salve for the hauntings was distraction. Or, in Marshal’s particular case, a money-making opportunity.
The way he saw it, these kids had to develop critical thinking skills and a bit of distrust for the world, one way or another. Compared to the methods he and many students his age had been forced to endure, he figured a few galleons was a small price to pay for such skills.
Regrettably, the school faculty didn’t see his teaching style as ‘acceptable.’ What was the real harm, anyway? The secret passages indicated on the maps he’d forged may not have existed, but the adventure his customers had experienced were very real.

Despite the moral ‘ambiguity’ of his actions, the fact remained that he had abandoned his bed before dawn against his will, and now stood among a veritable horde of apparent wrongdoers. He eyed his fellow miscreants with an air of suspicion, then shifted the conjecture toward their elusive headmaster. What a gathering this was, the oddity only topped by its aberrant host. There were times the sixth year was unconvinced the man was, in fact, a real person. With illusion magic what it was, who could truly confirm Lear’s physical nature? Had a student ever drawn near enough to touch the armor-clad specimen of a wizard? Outside of major school ceremonies, during which he sat apart from house tables, his appearances were scarce enough that Marshal had never fully discounted the idea of conspiracy.
What purpose would a fake headmaster serve? He hadn’t the faintest, but speculation served as another distraction, despite his subconscious acknowledgement of its absurdity.

In any case, the singularity of this detention struck him as peculiar. And in any case, he was not pleased to be present.

His displeasure would only grow when a voice suggested rather gruffly that he should "Move." Rubbing a leftover crust of sleep from one eye, the young man turned a derisive expression toward the speaker, whom he could feel actively pressing against his shoulder in an effort to weave past. Notably, he did not move.
“So eager for your very own pair of gloves?” He questioned scathingly. “I doubt they’ll run out of- Eve? The sarcastic remark fractured, the final word elevating considerably in pitch as he registered the face of the pushy individual. He knew that face rather well — and exactly how pushy its owner could be — yet somehow failed to associate it with the situation.
Across six years at Hogwarts, Marshal had never been a model student, though the reasons had varied. He was hardly a stranger to detention, which was precisely why he knew that Eve was. Not once had he witnessed her in such a state of punishment, and seeing it now injected his demeanor with disbelief.

The redhead had already worked her way past him, and displayed every sign of one with a mission.
Glancing toward Headmaster Lear, then to the back of Evelynn’s head, he shrugged lightly and followed in the wake she left. Lear had ordered them into pairs for some reason or another, and she was the only person he’d seen that might not altogether annoy him over ten hard hours.
Upon catching up to the girl, however, he would be struck by a pang of doubt that Eve would deem him her partner, for the one currently occupying her attention was one Winnie Harper.

He held little regard for Winnie’s new name or the one from whom she’d taken it. He hadn’t attended the wedding, and frankly hadn’t spoken to the girl for a great expanse of time. Yet they’d had a connection once — something undeniable that he’d never been able to place a finger on. Of course, that had been long ago, though he couldn’t deny the soft space she still occupied in his heart.
Evelynn seemed to hold her in a similar place, though hers was exceedingly more developed. He’d noted the relationship between the two girls from afar, feeling it was almost as though they’d become sisters.
While Marshal and Eve’s own relationship had rekindled to some degree, he felt certain she would choose the other redhead over him in a heartbeat. With that thought came another pang to his chest, though this was different from the first. He offered Winnie a tired, friendly smile, but remained silent.

In the immediate area the young man also noted the presence of Nabi Park, though he did his utmost to pretend he hadn’t. He neither wanted the headache of interacting with the cryptic girl, nor had any interest in visiting the repercussions of the last time he’d done so. Best for all involved if that particular dynamic was never further explored.
The boy at Nabi’s side was unfamiliar, and seemed to be conversing with her. Marshal felt truly sorry for the poor stranger.

Amethyst hated early mornings; she always did.
The disdain for them was always clearly visible in her eyes.

Saturday, the worst day to be woken up this early and for a detention, one she did not believe she deserved. Sure, she recognised her fault, but the professors could have simply left her off, with an apology letter perhaps.

She did not even steal the potion ingredients after all!

She hurried off towards the ground, scared they would send an owl to her grandmother if she were any minute late. Normally, the young girl loved violating every rule set by Jenalyn Castillo, but this would mean explaining her innocence and the embarrassing fact that she is almost failing at potions.

Amy hated being called academically weak; she was in no sense weak, but potions got her bad.
She could not just remember every single ingredient for every single potion taught to her.

There were far too many ingredients to remember for every potion they studied. Instead of memorising endless lists, she had decided to sneak into the classroom after hours and compare the ingredients in her notes to the jars lining the shelves. Visual memory worked far better for her. Smells helped too.
Unfortunately for her, one of them smelt extremely pungent that she wanted to vomit.
Honestly, at that moment, Amethyst felt she could have been sorted into Gryffindor purely for bravery. Smelling those ingredients willingly should have counted as an act of heroism.

But then she had been caught red-handed.

A jar still in her hand and her notebook right in front of her, a figure which went by like a flash as soon as she noticed. And then she was reported to the headmaster, which brings her here: community detention.

The leaves crunched beneath her as she walked to her destination.

Headmaster Lear did not look so cool like he always did anymore. Maybe it was merely because she utterly despised him at the moment for putting her through detention, as if waking up this early on a Saturday morning is not enough.

Pairs, he had ordered, and Amethyst made no note of what he said next, too groggy as she walked around the grounds to find someone to pair up with or perhaps just to feel a little less sleepy. She walked towards the less crowded spot, and she had found the perfect person to be with, Elisa.
Amethyst jogged towards her. "Hi, do you have anyone?", she greeted with a small smile.

Hours before she'd be able to greet the sun, Sabrina awoke – leg swung over the rim of her bed, a strand of hair caught between her parted lips, her final snore still sounding through the room she squinted to see. Miraculously, she made it down the ladder of her bunked bed, clumsily but quietly. Expectedly, her victorious smile had but a second to form before she triped over her own feet, earning a groan from both her roomate and owl. Usually she wouldn't struggle so much whilst getting ready for the day, but today the time she had to leave her warm nest in was quite too early, even for the morning bird.

Arms hugging her sweater-clad form, she stumbled out of the castle, her stride somewhat steady and gaze focused when she reached the outskirts of the castle's grounds. 'Good morning, sir,' she'd greet the headmaster (@Solomon Lear) with a slight smile and a nod of her head. There was no shame or remorse evident in this gesture, and why would it? The reason for her participation wasn't all that serious, or at least not in the newly appointed prefect's opinion. Bored and a bit annoyed, she had shared a few facts, just as fun as they were untrue, with a few uneducated, troublesome kids that were just about to throw rocks into the Great lake. 'In their hunger for blood, they often sink their rigid, sharp teeth into the ankles of sods like you,' she recalled her words with a silent grimace. Even though she didn't regret scaring the punks, she did have a few quelms with spreading misinformation about the lovely residents of the water body. As is often the case, the brave punks turned out to be cowardly snitches, earning her a ticket to this closed community event – which this punishment appeared to have become. Sabrina regarded the number of students present with a raise of her brows. She knew mischief wasn't rare in their school, but this seemed a little ecessive

She had yet to recognize a face whose owner she'd consider more than a friendly acquintance, a state she's entered in most of her recent attendances of social gatherings. Despite her belief that most uncomfortable situations became bearable if not converted to enjoyable when spend with a like-minded soul, the witch made no further attempt at searching the crowd, opting to getting lost in it's vastness. It's not like she'd mind an intrusion to her lone status, just that for the first time in what felt like forever she, for whatever reason, felt somewhat safe in her own company. Perhaps because the reason she was even here wasn't something she was too keen on sharing, perhaps because she was simply too tired to fully comprehend the frankly absurd situation. Whatever the reason may've been, the fact that she stood alone remained, her eyes trained on the adult overlooking their growing flock, headmaster Solomon Lear. Her young mind couldn't decide what it's response to his presence should be – the unpreceded respect or teen rebellion. On one hand, the girl couldn't help but feel a tug of admiration when regarding the tall man. For one, he was old, like, ancient relic type old, and undoubtedly skilled. Then again, the question of if these skills laid in educating and caring for children remained doubtful. From her time reading through old isssues of the Prophet, she knew there were rumours and scandals tide to the professor's name. And even without them, she'd feel a natural need to defy him, something many people her age did to carve their own path to destiny.

Unsure and unaware of the tug-and-war her ideals played in the backstage of her mind, she nodded along to the man's words, eyes following the picture they painted. With a deep inhale that starightened her back, she willed her limbs to move, even whilst knowing they wouldn't stop for the next few hours.

OOC NOTES
Coded by Melissa Blake
And there it was again. That hole on my gut. That feeling of my heart pounding on my throat. That second where my vision got blurry. It was like...

Like I was about to throw up. Like, suddenly, the light of day was too bright, my chest too heavy, the voices too loud...

I bit my lip and, for once in my life, I forced myself to behave. To calm down.

Just how I had been told.

Slowly, I took a deep breath and put on the gloves, turning my back just slightly and kneeling down to begin with my job.

"I... I know you're surely mad at me. And you have all the right, but..."

But how to start? 'I'm sorry for keeping the secret, please don't be mad at me, I know I'm the worst friend ever, looks like I have an evil twin now?'

I had replayed my words all day. Yesterday. The day before. But now, I forgot how to talk.

"I-It all has an explanation. I'm... Not sure when it started, but I know something is off with me. I have done weird, crazy thing without even realizing, and-" I felt my throat tightening. My eyes began to fill with tears. I didn't want her to see me cry. Not again.

"I know I don't deserve your forgiveness. And I'll totally understand if you decide you don't want to me my friend anymore, but... I think you deserve the truth, Sky, and I-"

I gasped for air. I was talking too fast.

"I'm sorry. For- For whatever I've done that night. And the nights before. I have no idea w-who I am now. A-And it terrifies me, and..."

I finally looked up at her, finally met her eyes

"Sky, say s-s-some..."

A word. A simple word.

And I wasn't able to say it. I wasn't able.

I. Wasn't. Able.

"S...ome...thing. P-P-Please." And there it was. The Prodigy of the generation, Ravenclaw's finest, reduced once again to a word she cannot form.

A stupid stutter I had thought I left behind years ago. Looks like nothing ever stays dead.

Even though Tatiana had clearly stated that she did not want to waste time dilly-dallying around and get out of here asap, it seemed that her partner was turning a blind eye, or in this case, a deaf ear, at her statement. She introduced herself as Ophelia Vanderbilt, and instead of just carrying on with her work removing branches, she talked on. She asked Tatiana what was her reason for getting detention, and though she was trying to save face by not telling anyone that she got embarrassingly caught while trying to reminisce how butterbeer tasted like the first time she sneaked to Hogsmeade, she merely grunted at the question.

But Ophelia did not just stop there, she seemed to answer her own question, or who knows who's question, and said that she sold fake secret passage maps to other first years. Tatiana chuckled a bit at that, even though this girl was slightly annoying, at least she knew how to manipulate. After that outburst, Tatiana finally gave in and told her own reasoning. “I was caught 'illegally' brewing butterbeer in my dorm room at the middle of the night, but it wasn't my fault the rule book didn't have anything against that!” She chopped off a particularly large amount of weeds that looked suspiciously like it was supposed to be there.

“But hey, at least I know where secret passages are without any maps,” she laughed at her own joke. Chopping off another batch of grass, this time those that weren't planted there purposely, she turned around and eyed Lear with something like amusement. “Don't you think that Headmaster Lear is rather ...queer? I mean, the first time I saw him I thought he was going to be someone like Dumbledore,” she cut off at least 4 inches of grass, “You do know who Dumbledore is, right?”, she asked Ophelia, pointing the shears at her.
