Rainy Nights to Sunrise
Rather angrily Irene, the Egyptian Mau, continued to paw and now scratch at his face. Now to a normal person this would hurt like hell but to Quinn this was a discomfort and annoyance. To him it felt like a tree branch smacking him repeatedly on the side of his jaw. It didn't necessarily hurt too bad, but it did sting and was becoming more and more annoying.
This showed on his face, and yet he didn't do something. He just let the feline take out her whining, and seeming frustration at her owner. If one looked while this was going on they would notice a few striking things about the feline. First was her strikingly pristine silver coat that faded gradually into white as it approached the underside of her body. While growing 1 or two shades darker as it progressed down her back. Accompanying her silvery coat were beautiful jet black dot patterns with three distinct black lines going down her spine starting at just below the shoulder blades and ending at the base of the tail. The tail itself was silvery-white with black stripes. While the back of her front legs near her paws had stripes like a tiger circling them. and her paws were a rare black. Her coat was so shiny that she looked more like a divine entity than a feline.
However most notable of all were her large eyes. One gooseberry green, while the other was a beautiful golden color. Her slender frame that was undoubtedly all muscle only suited the feeling this feline gave off. Despite how she was acting at the moment, which looked and sounded like the feline was crying. Quinn had still taken her berating despite being annoyed by it all. Gently he removed a large hand from Nico and instead placed it just under her chin. Taking a large finger to stroke the underside of Irene's neck.
"Ssssssssh. You're alright Irene. I'm stell 'ere and you're no lahnger alahne." He said in an uncharacteristically soft and gentle tone. His eyes softened again and he continued to stroke the underside of her chin, gradually cupping one side of her face with his large and clumsy hand. "Remember what I prahmised you when I pecked you oehp dat day. I'd never leave you and I stell 'aven't so me sweet Irene please calm down. I can't bear to 'ear yooehr cries anymahre." He continued softly cooing to his feline.
Throughout this whole moment, Irene resisted at first. She tried to keep herself tense and tried to keep on whining. But Quinn knew her weak spot and his voice and touch were gradually calming Irene down. Her back was no longer sharply arched and she was standing up straighter on his shoulder now. Not only that the air of anger and anxiety she was letting off was now turning into contentment and relaxation. Most notably shown by the fact that she was beginning to let out a soft but strong purr. That was gradually growing louder, and as Quinn cupped his hand around her cheek. Irene responded by affectionately rubbing her cheek into it.
"Mrooooow." This one was less hostile and much more welcoming. She was at least for the moment lost in her own little world. Totally content to just stay there, but it seems that didn't last too long as Quinn spent the new few minutes gradually removing his hand. She didn't let that stop her though, she carefully reoriented herself so she could keep rubbing her cheek against Quinn's cheek but also have a good view to look down at Nico.
Someone she didn't really seem to know judging by the her behavior and the fact that she suddenly stopped the purring to look down at the young Slytherin Prefect. "Mrow?"She cocked her head confused. Quinn raised a brow looking at Irene and than Nico. "Right. I dahn't dink you two 'ave ahfficially met. Dis is me cat irene and irene dis is me...oehm friend. Me really really dear friend...Nico" He explained blushing softly once more.
Irene looked down at Nico curiously staring right at her with those beautifully, large odd colored eyes. She stared for nearly a minute before looking back to Quinn and examining where Nico was. Suddenly she seemed to perk up and look almost accusingly at Quinn. Well it was less accusing and more sly. "Mrow meow mrow!"
This seemed to catch Quinn off guard who looked at his feline in total shock. His face started to turn red. C-Could he understand his cat!? "W-what no! Why de 'ell wooehld you say dat? I mean...I dahn't know maybe??" He looked quite appalled and embarrassed from his cat's heavily implied meowing. Irene on the other hand looked quite proud of herself holding her head held up high. I'm sure if she could life she would be doing so because she than turned her full gaze back towards Nico. She seemed a bit more on guard now, both happy and displeased with Quinn's hat.
"Next time I'll get a male. Maybe dat one'll be less nahsy." He mumbled this and in response had his face hit by Irene's tail. "Mrow." It was short and court but he mumbled something else that the cat seemed to ignore as she now kept staring almost uncomfortably so at Nico. As if sizing her up, much like a Queen would an opposing dignitary. Would Irene allow herself to be touched by Nico or would she lash out? Who could really know? Guess Nico would soon find out.

There was something about his cat. She had a certain ... aura. An attitude that seem to beam right at anyone around her. Like royalty. It was odd. The whole time Quinn interacted with Irene, Nico couldn't help but stare. I mean... It's a cat. Cats are beautiful and no matter how many u'd see, everytime it was an enchanting encounter. A moment that you had to cherish.
Irene was picking a fight with the Half-Giant. Honestly, Nico would never want to pick a fight with anyone taller than her. It was only natural. They clearly had an advantage. They must be heavy so if you'd try to bump them over, it would feel like you ran into a wall. He wasn't going to feel much. You on the other hand... You'd feel the consequences of your mistake to mess with a Half-Giant. And even so. This little creature slapped its paw right onto his cheek, not slowing down.
The cat wasn't really hurting him. It was rather a rough pat in his face. Like a fly that kept on circling someones head, never leaving. Nico would like to take action but she had no idea what kind of personality this cat had. 'E-ehm..' Before she could move, Quinn already took care of the situation. His big hand moving to Irenes tiny head, gently scratching her cheek. It didn't immediately have effect but soon enough, the little feline gave in, purring relaxed while leaning more into his palm.
Seeing how much the cat enjoyed it, Nico couldn't help but wonder how that must feel like- WHAT EHM.... She snapped her head away from him, blushing rather brightly. What are you even thinking, Nico? Don't be weird...There were these weird feelings fluttering in her stomach. They only appeared when she was around Quinn. Odd. Was this some kind of ginger Half-Giant side effect? Maybe she should look into that.
Her attention got drawn back to the ginger boy by him muttering something to ... Irene? Was he actually talking to her? As in a dialogue?
"Right. I dahn't dink you two 'ave ahfficially met. Dis is me cat irene and irene dis is me...oehm friend. Me really really dear friend...Nico"
Irene. Such a pretty name. It was fitting for the silver beauty. There were moments where their eyes met. Nico's ice blue eyes looking back into Irene's odd coloured ones. The young prefect smiled softly, politely bowing into the Queens direction. The cat stood higher than Nico. It... only made sense for her to atleast bow to her. She had no intention to take in more space than she already did..
Irene looked at Quinn for a moment, apparantly noticing something. He got all flustered, talking gibberish. What was this about? It was probably normal to get what your pet was saying. At some point you understand their bodylanguage, their intonation in their voice,... It had to be that...
'Quinn, are you okey? What did she say?' His face had turned even redder than it did before. 'She is really beautiful though. I love the stripes on her tail and hindlegs... She looks so exotic.' Nico smiled brightly, slightly tilting her head, watching the feline look back at her. 'Would.. she mind if.. I pet her?' Hesitantly, Nico lifted her hand, raising it to Irenes level, allowing her to sniff it first. 'Don't worry. I won't touch you without your permission.' She smiled warmly at the silver feline. She meant no disrespect.

Irene curiously sniffed the fingers of Nico in a curious manner. She did this for a long time perhaps a minute. Her eyes were were filled with an intent, curious light. She finally leaned in more pressing her snout than her head into Nico's fingers. Closing her eyes she let her ears fall back. Allowing the young Dhampir to pet her head.
Quinn was a bit surprised to be honest as he watched Irene. He knew she didn't really like sharing him with people. She was a very spoiled and possessive feline. There were few she actually liked or let pet her. Children were the one exception to this rule. For whatever reason no matter how rough they are she is tolerant. This doesn't mean she is a push over she just won't intentionally hurt them. Outside of them his mother, sisters, himself, his grandparents and now apparently Nico. Are the few individuals that Irene has let calmly let touch and pet her.
Perhaps Irene saw what he saw in her. Without realizing Quinn started to stare at Nico observing her as he would when people watching. His eyes wavered over the area of no makeup. The sickly white, corpse like skin. The blue veins and deathly look of her. But where most would consider her monstrous he considered beautiful. Was it different yes but Quinn not only empathized but understood how she felt and what she felt. Nico was beautiful. So beautiful that he could not properly put it into words.
She made his heart beat crazy fast, made his stomach clutter, and hands feel clammy. When Quinn was around Nico, he felt like he could truly be himself like no one could bring him down. She filled the small void in his heart that he felt since he was a wee child. He loved her touch, how she talked, but most of all "...God I love your facial expressions." He said verbally, noticeably, and worst of all accidentally. He didn't even seem to register what he said. Still enamored with her. A large stupidly, silly smile on his face.

To Nico's surprise, Irene actually allowed her to touch her. Even more so, the feline leaned into her hand, almost in the same way when Quinn gave her earscratches. Like the child she was, she couldn't help but let out a slight squeal of excitement. This Silver Queen seemed to not mind Nico being around. Especially around Quinn. She had a suspicion that the feline wasn't fond of her sitting on his lap. But... that was in the past now, as far as Nico could tell.
'S-She's so soft!' She exclaimed, intensifying her rubbing and petting. 'I-I she already looked so soft but... She actually does feel warm and soft.' With a bright smile, Nico moved her hand behind Irenes ear, gently yet firm, giving her scratches. The dhampir had no idea how Quinn was straight up staring at her. Noticing every movement she made and eyeing at the naked spots on her face. She forgot all about them, being awfully enchanted by the felines features and warm furr. 'You know... Back home we don't have a cat... But we have a neighbour cat that occasionally visits us and then she allows me to play with her. She's not quite like Irene. Ehm.... Her furr is white with orange spots and amber coloured eyes... I miss her hah..'
"...God I love your facial expressions."
'I-I w-' Suddenly, he just blurted that out. In a semi shock like state, Nico nervously looked over to Quinn. Her eyes shyly meeting with his. What was that? How could he like her facial expressions... OH NO HER MAKE UP. Swiftly, she pulled her hand away from Irene and pressed it back on her exposed cheek. 'W-What do you mean... I-I just pet your cat and... it made me happy. I-' She just shut down, her face turning bright red. She had to hide. Running wasn't an option. His remark froze her legs to the ground. God, no... What could she do... Hide behind Irene? But she would definitely be upset about that...
There was only one option left.
Quickly, Nico bend over, burrying her forhead in his chest, her eyes looking down, trying not to turn any redder. But it was too late. She was speechless. She couldn't bring up any words and just awkwardly didn't move away from his chest.
'Y-your face is... quite... pleasant t-too...' She muttered softly.

Irene slinked out of the way of Nico's body a bit surprised but also seemingly amused by her actions. She pressed her head against Nico's side purring softly. Irene really liked Nico and warmed up to her almost too quickly. Maybe the feline simply just liked Nico and didn't mind taking a bit of risk in just going over to her. Whatever the reason was Irene seemed happy.
Meanwhile Quinn on the other hand was once again panicking internally. Taken aback and shocked by Nico's actions. He hadn't expected her to react the way she did, and what did she mean by his face is pleasant too? Did he say something weird again? Probably did. He wasn't in his right mind at the moment and yet like a sack of bricks falling off a three story building. Quinn was hit by a simple yet profound realization. He knew what these weird feelings in his chest and stomach.
He knew why he was feeling these confusing and warm and sweet emotions for Nico. His granda talked about it all the time. Every time he came home or when they were out he could never stop talking about and acting all mushy with his grandmother. It was...Love. Quinn loves Nico, like the love love kind of love. It was so simple and yet...so terrifying. Did she feel the same way...wait she complimented him and now had her face in buried in his chest.
Gingerly wrapping his arms around her and Irene he gently pulled her closer into his chest. "N-Nico..." Well here went everything. A Healy was never one to dwell too long. He might as well be a man about it or he would never hear the end of it from his granda. God he could hear him now...Quinn focus! Focus Quinn!!
Mentally slapping himself he stared down at Nico. "I...um...uh lo....lov...Christ this is hard." A blushing and red mess his ears and cheeks were on fire as he clumsily fumbled and stuttered through his wording. "...N-Nico...I love you..."

Rainy Nights to Sunrise
Her mind was racing during every second that past by. It felt like time had stopped. Like time itself had decided to slow down for this very moment. Quinn became silent for a moment, but she could sense there was a certain restlessness to him. Was he going to push her away? She would've understoon if he did. She was acting weird and out of place. Did she get too comfortable? Should she better just... run and leave?
Irene had moved out of the way of the girl, to then gently rub her head against her side. As Quinn didn't react immediatly, Nico carefully glanced at the silver feline from within the Half-Giants chest. When she wanted to pet her, Quinn had decided to hold her closer. Taken by surprise and a little bit uncomfortable, Nico let it happen. His arms were so much bigger than hers. Like protective wings from an albatros. It felt safe.. for a little while... until he spoke those words:
"I...um...uh lo....lov...Christ this is hard.. N-Nico...I love you..."
'H-h..Huh?' Her eyes widened. Her heart now in her throat, beating like crazy. Was that what this was? Was this really what it felt like? Like what you saw in romantic movies? Nico had imagined many scenarios where her beloved would confess to her, but she actually didn't expect Quinn to actually, truly, feel something so intense for her. She didn't dare to look up... If she'd look at him now... She was sure she'd melt and seep away in the Great Lake. But.. she couldn't just hide like this, right?
She had to face him at some point. She'd have to meet those green, dreamy eyes of his...
Swallowing hard, Nico gently pushed herself from his chest and tried to look him in the eye. However, she had to muster everything she had to not look away. Her face would be beetred. Her lip quivering nervously as she tried to answer his confession. 'I-I.. I.. ugh.. Iloveyoutoo!' And with that she quickly faceplanted his chest again. Was it just her imagination, or was it awfully hot out today?

She said them so quickly that at first Quinn thought he honestly imagined them. This apparently wasn't true because Irene who was usually lively and full of herself. Didn't move from her spot, seemingly just as surprised as Quinn. If he was red before than he was really, really red now. Red as a beet really. Staring into Nico's eyes he pursed his lips. The quick words echoing continuously in his mind. He was so distracted by the words that now he was just staring at the top of her head, as she head buried her face back into his chest. He enjoyed the weight and warmth.
She loved him too. She said those words. She felt the same way, it wasn't a mistake and they weren't lies. He could just tell. He couldn't really put his finger on why but his heart just knew. In fact it felt so light now despite how quickly it was beating. He kept trying to speak, but his mouth just opened and closed unable to register what just happened.
It was brief and quick but the words were like impossibly heavy bricks that had suddenly been lifted off his heart. His heart felt really light now. Like it was soaring and he just let his hand rest on the back of her head stroking her head soothingly.

@Quinn Healy
The weather out made this moment even more fairytale like than she could've ever have imagined. Flushed red, the dhampir decided to keep her head on his chest. Hiding as deep as she could. Afraid this reality would dissapear if she didn't. That this all would be a dream she'd wake up from if she even moved a little.
Her tiny hands grasped around his chest, gently holding onto his shirt, her eyes glancing to the side, watching the black water softly hit the rocky sides. It was so quiet out. So peaceful. As if nothing could touch this moment. This bubble they were both intertwined with. His heartbeat was going so fast even though she didn't seem to be alarmed by it. She said it. The feelings that had been boggling inside of her stomach and head had finally found its place. In the heart and head of a ginger giant.
As his heartbeat slowed down, indicating he too was relaxing soon aswell, the dhampir could barely keep her eyes open any longer. Her cheek gently pressing against his chest, occasionally taking in his faint scent of oranges. Her body became heavy as she no longer fought against her desire to stay awake or to be aware of what happened around her. She was safe. Safe in this giants arms. Her personal walking bed and everlasting galaxy of red smoke...Finished
