It was history of magic, my favourite subject. I arrived early, and sat down on my usual desk, right in the middle. I pulled out my notebook and quill, and put it on the table in front of me.
Then, I pulled out a new book that my parents had given me - a book all about greek myths by a really famous muggle author. I knew that we probably weren't doing about Greek history, but it was so interesting! I started reading while everyone else arrived, blocking out the crashes and bangs of people getting sorted out. I felt someone sit down on the desk next to me, but I kept focussing on my book.
Eventually, everyone was sitting down, and I put my book back in my bag, just as the teacher arrived. She started talking about our topic - Arthurian Legends. I smiled. I loved legends, and the knights of the round table were amazing! I gaped slightly - King Arthur was real? So were Merlin, and my personal favourite, Morgana le Fay? I knew Morgana was supposed to be evil, but still, she was an epic female icon. I scribbled down notes as quickly as I physically could. Then, I felt my quill slip out of my hand. I watched in horror as it bounced across the floor, landing under the desk of the person next to me.
I leant over to her slightly, and whispered, even quieter than I normally spoke "Excuse me? My quill is under your desk."

For the first time in a long while, Veda was having a good day. She started off with cinnamon rolls at breakfast, which were her absolute favorite option in the Great Hall. She got a letter from her mom, which said she had recently got hired for a new job! Veda wrote back, congratulating her and ranted a bit about this girl who was a bit mean the other day, but Veda had gotten over it by now.

Finally, it was time for her first class. History of magic was not her specialty, but that didn't mean she didn't enjoy it! She just had to work a bit to keep her grade up, which is fair. School shouldn't be a walk in the park, after all. Veda walked into the classroom, and sat down next to a girl who seemed very focused on the book in front of her. Taking a quick peek at the cover, Veda smiled. She loved the odyssey, and anything to do with Greek mythology. However, Veda being herself, she said nothing and instead pulled out a piece of paper and a quill.

As the teacher started the lesson, Veda realized she knew nothing about Arthurian Legends. She quickly jotted down her notes, and in the middle of a sentence she felt something brush her leg. As she looked down, she saw a quill. Then, hearing the girl beside her whisper, "Excuse me? My quill is under your desk," Veda hastily picked up the writing utensil. She smiled shyly and handed it over, "Here," she murmured, and quickly looked down at her page to continue writing as the teacher hadn't stopped talking.
