Dear Ellie,
How are you? I'm doing alright, and I hope you are too. I'm so excited that the school year is coming up soon. I swear the days pass a hundred times slower when I'm stuck with the same people everyday. My parents aren't even around still, because they are so busy for their work. I miss you. I miss Hogwarts.
Lewis is okay. I mean, he's not dying or anything, but I do miss the way he was before the accident. My house always has in-home therapists coming in and out of the house. I think I told you about Lewis, right? Well, if I didn't, there was an accident and his brain was very damaged. My parents say he has something like effasia affasia aphesia aphasia. And whatever that is, it sounds pretty bad, because everytime I try talking to him, he always stares at me for a little bit for responding. And he can barely form full sentence! It breaks my heart because he was just a kid, and his life is basically transformed all because of what could have been an avoidable accident. If only I had taken better care of him...
Anyways, sorry for being a negative nancy for a little bit. It just means a lot to me, you know? Enough about me, what have you been up to? Surely you've been doing much more exciting things than me.
Also, when can I see you again? We should go to Diagon Alley together before the year starts and purchase our supplies together. That would be pretty fun. Write back as soon as you can please!

I'm okay I guess. Me too, the approaching school year excites me and yet also seems daunting, after everything over the summer. I miss you too, where you parents around at all this summer or...?
I don't think you mentioned Lewis before but I still feel for the poor kid. His parents aren't even around! I'm so sorry about that, it must be hard, not being able to talk to your brother. Even though she annoys me, I don't know how I would survive without talking to Tianna. IT's better not to blame yourself though, it's not just your fault, I'm sure there was many other people involved.
You're not a negative nancy! Call it rude of me, but it's nice to know I'm not the only person going through something this summer. My summer started out okay I guess. I went to New York to visit my friend Summer, but soon after, my grandma passed. It was really random, one day we where baking cookies... and then the next she was gone... well I guess technically it was during the night but still it felt like that. It was hard, I was the first one who knew and I had to tell everyone.
Anyways, sorry for the rant, I guess you sorta asked for it though. Surely something fun happened this summer for you though?
Going to diagon alley with you sounds like fun. We should totally do that, I'm pretty much free and my parents won't care, they are still grieving I guess. We can go get ice cream then to maybe? That would help get our mind off things. It would just be you and me and peace I guess, oh, and ice cream of course.

Dear Ellie,
My parents mostly spend their time working. I see them on weekends, or when they are allowed to take off. But knowing the amount of work they have, the time they spend with Lewis and I is minimal.
It's fine! It's not like it was your fault or anything. And I'm sorry about your grandma. I'm sure she was a sweet person just like you. That must be hard for you, but I hope you know I'm always here if you need anything! This summer...I really don't know if I have any plans. I also probably have to watch Lewis a lot. But ugh, I wanna do what all the other students do, like watch Quidditch games. I don't even remember the last time I've left my house aside for pure enjoyment.
I mean, the good part about staying indoors all the time is that I get soooo much studying in. I hope I don't forget everything as soon as September starts, but I think I see that happening. Once I step inside Hogwarts again, everything I've studied is flying out my brain!
Yes, ice cream sounds delightful! Especially because it's blazing hot right now. Is it hot near you? Well, it is in my part of London. Hopefully it won't be as hot when we get the ice cream together, because that ice cream's going to melt faster than you can say Reducio! I'm getting excited just visioning it in my mind.
