Fio walked into the cabin, and sat on her bed. The room was currently empty, with most people out training. She'd hurt her wrist, performing a complicated sword routine, so she pulled a mini first aid box from under the bed, and took a bandage out of it. She took the bracelets from her dad off her hand, and tucked them into her secret hiding place, a tiny wooden box she could access by lifting up her mattress. Then, she wrapped the bandage around her wrist, providing it with a bit of support. She put the first aid box back under her bed, then picked up her sword.
She put it into her left hand, then tried out the basic routine parts - thrust, jab, block, swing. It felt strange doing it with her left hand, as she'd never tried it before. But, thankfully, it didn't seem to go too badly. So, she continued doing it, adding in stepping motions as well. She loved sword fighting. Not as much as archery, but it was more theraputic. Eventually, it was as though she couldn't even feel the pain in her wrist anymore.
After about half an hour, she realised that there was motion behind her - had someone been watching her? She turned round, and faced the person - a fellow Athena camper.
She's like an arrow flying through the air - dangerous, but nice to watch

Adena was exhausted. But, luckily for her, she had the power of Monster Energy on her side. Because who needs sleep when you can just chug a can of that stuff and feel a caffeine buzz that'll make you shake, sure, but keep you awake without ever needing to close your eyes and catch some z's!
In truth, she definitely needed more sleep. Going to bed at 5am only to wake up at 7 was not something that she should be doing, yet there she was. She'd been doing it for years and years, and though she was always in a state of hyper-awareness that bordered on mania, it was one of her most recognizable personality traits.
Known throughout camp as the 'badass', the one who's 'not afraid of anything', Adena Hávarðr had a reputation to uphold. As a daughter of both Athena and a Son of Thor, she had everything she needed to be successful. Norse, Greek, and too caffeine-filled for her own good.
She'd only started with the whole 'no-sleep' thing after her father's death. She could still see Typhon in her mind's eye, his gigantic foot coming down, and ending the one thing that made her 6-year-old self feel safe in the world of Demigods and Monsters.
She slowly rolled out of bed, going into the bathroom to wash her face and get changed. Cropped camp shirt and ripped jeans on, hair pulled back, dagger strapped to belt, she felt unstoppable. Then, she went to grab some breakfast, eating pancakes absolutely drenched in syrup, because how else should they be eaten?!?
After breakfast, many people went to start training. Adi, however, needed to grab another Monster, just to be sure that she wouldn't fall asleep while throwing her daggers!
She went to her bunk to grab it, then went to the bathroom to pull her hair back up from where a few strands had escaped the ponytail. As she walked back out, she saw one of her half-sisters in there. Fioannula, or Fio, younger than Adena and just standing there looking at her.
Adi'd heard Fio practicing her sword-moves, and she was getting pretty good.
"Hey, honey! You're getting real good with that. Keep it up, m'kay?" Adena said, giving her an approving nod.

I rolled my eyes at Adi.
"Getting real good? I've been good for years. And of course I'm going to keep it up. If there's a quest, I want to be the first person chosen. Everyone does."
As much as Adena and I... disagreed sometimes, she was a bit like my older sister at camp. We shared a mother, and we had both lost our fathers. However, we had lost them in very different ways. I didn't really want to think about it.
I made small movements with my injured wrist, seeing if I was able to move it. Ouch. I definetely wasn't. I groaned and sat back down on my bunk.
"Any ideas for where I can get someone to check this out? I really can't be bothered to go to the infirmary though."
I looked at Adi.
"You really should cut down on the energy drinks. You should hear what people say about you and them."
Using my good hand, I fiddled with some of the purple strands in my hair - they were the only thing I actually had to remember my dad. We had died them together, using permenant dye, just before we left Ireland for America.
"At least you've eaten though." I pointed at the syrup stains on the t-shirt.

Whoa there, Adi thought, a little bit caught off guard by the...well, the bluntness coming from her half-sister. They weren't the closest of people, though Adi felt like Fio was one of the few people that didn't make her too angry or feel like ripping her hair out. But apparently, she was feeling a bit spicy today...
"Alrighty then, don't take my compliment, that's up to you. And for the record, I've been on 2 quests already, and do not want to go on another one, so you can exclude me from that 'everyone' statement." she said, wiping off some blood from her last spar off of her dagger.
"I can check it, if you want. Or I could drag Will over here, I'm sure he's somewhere..." she said, not quite knowing what Fio expected. Adi personally voted for invisible option c, carry Fio to the Infirmary so she couldn't just not go.
"Excuse you?!? First of all, these are the only things keeping me awake. Secondly, what are people saying?" she asked indignantly mid-sip, more than willing to attack if necessary.
"Yeah, I have. Have you, honey, 'cause you're lookin' a bit pale." she said, noticing the slight pallor on her little sister's face. As the Head Counsellor for the Athena Cabin(mostly because everybody else didn't want the job or were too young), it was her job to make sure none of her siblings, whether fully or not, died just standing there.

"Okay, everyone except you, I guess."
I watched as Adena asked if she should check it, or if she could get Will. I grimaced. I did not need someone fussing over it. I unwound the bandage, and looked at it. It didn't look like there was anything particually wrong with it, so I probably had just worked it a bit too hard. I waited a few seconds, before putting it back on.
"You really ought to sleep sometimes" I knew that wasn't going to happen though. I was fighting a loosing battle with Adi.
"Oh, they're just saying the usual things. That you blackmailed one of the young summer-only campers into getting them for you. Bit stupid to be honest. Can't they come up with something better."
The campers had been spreading that particular rumour for years. Although, knowing Adi, there was a chance that it was true. But, even if it was, it was none of their business.
"I always look pale. I grew up in a cold country, which is annoying. I did eat."
I bent down, and pulled out by bow and arrow from underneath my bed, then got the pot of varnish from next to my bed, and started polishing it.
