Bree sits quietly as she puzzles over her History of Magic homework. One thing that she hates is history. She can not focus for the life of her when it comes to doing it. Shes been told plenty of times that it should be easy. After all it already happened. But to her its dry and boring and pointless. If it already happened then why does she need to know about it? Crossing and uncrossing her legs, she pins down a loose paper under her leg to keep from blowing away. Looking up from her homework, she watches everything else. The world right now happened to be quiet, peaceful. Birds fly and sing their songs of life. Trees rustle from the light breeze that picks up every now and then. It was peaceful and relaxing. The perfect place that needs to be stress free.

Lately, she has been coming here to do homework and study. Slightly odd but hey, it's one place she doesn't have to see her step sister. Since their first interaction together, the young Slytherin seemed to be seeking Bree out afterwards. Almost everyday, Anna finds her. Reading in the library or doing homework in the study room? Guess who somehow ends up next to her! Heading to class? Somehow Anna is walking with her. It's starting to seem as if the younger girl is following her. Although Bree can't say anything about that because for some odd reason, she developed a strange urge to watch out for the girl, to protect her. If Bree is near her, there is at least half of her that's ready to jump out and scare everyone away. It's driving her insane and she just needed a space of peace. It seems though every time she sees her, to not tell her about their shared, traitorous, asshole of a father. One time out of straight curiosity, Bree made the mistake of asking about him. Anna told her that he was the best dad ever and the only part sucked because he was always away on a business trip. Angrily, she stormed off after excusing herself. She went on a very rare night run and ran harder than before.

Sighing she looks back down at her homework. Puzzling over it, she ignores it when she feels someone sit down next to her.

"Bree! I'm so surprised to see you here! I came here to practice flying! I was I might want to join Quidditch or maybe even Broom racing! But you know, those guys seem scary! Imagine getting knocked off your broom by one...."

Bree mentally rolls her eyes, as Anna rambles on. Of course she somehow found her here. Closing her eyes, she lets the Slytherin continue talking. Opening them, she looks around for a distraction, really anything would help.

"So would you join any of them!?" The question caught her ears and she turned towards the girl. "Well actually no, I wouldn't join now or in 3 years. I dislike flying."

Anna, was practically bouncing as she sits next to Bree. Somehow the girl managed to get closer to her as she talked. Out of the corner of her eye, she catches a familiar person. Mikey! Standing suddenly and ignoring Annas, "Why are you getting up?" Bree quickly calls him over.

"Mikey! Over here!" Walking quickly towards him, Anna excitedly follows her. "Is this your friend?! I'm excited to meet him!! I wonder if he's on the Quidditch team or likes flying! Maybe he could give me a few tips.

Mikey had just meant to take a quick walk around the grounds before heading back inside. Practice had ended a little while ago, but he still had too much energy. That always happened after flying. It was like his brain refused to slow down properly afterward. His broom rested across his shoulder as he walked, eyes drifting around the grounds while he debated whether there was even a point pretending he was going to do homework tonight.

Then he spotted Bree sitting out in the grass. Even from a distance, she had the exact look of someone losing a battle with homework they absolutely did not want to be doing. Papers spread around her, annoyed expression, staring at parchment. He started heading over automatically, mostly because bothering Bree sounded more entertaining than anything else he had planned, but slowed slightly when another girl suddenly sat down beside her. And immediately started talking. A lot.

Mikey couldn’t hear what she was saying from that far away, but he could definitely see the difference in energy between them. The other girl looked bright and animated, talking with her hands every few seconds, while Bree slowly started looking like she wanted the ground to swallow her whole. Then Bree looked up and spotted him. “Mikey! Over here!”

Mikey adjusted the broom on his shoulder and headed over properly this time, a grin already starting to pull at the corner of his mouth. The second he got close enough to really see Bree’s face, he nearly lost it. “You alright there?” he asked, stopping beside them. There was obvious amusement in his voice now as he glanced between the two girls. That was when he noticed how similar they looked. Not identical, but enough similarities that it stood out immediately. Same eyes. Same pale skin. Similar hair, even if the other girl’s was lighter and longer than Bree’s. Cousins maybe he thought guessing the resemblance before looking back toward the younger girl. “I’m Mikey,” he said, shifting the broom off his shoulder a little.

She was literally on the urge to run off screaming if she didn't get away from Anna. After she asks or more of wonder out loud, if he's on the Quidditch Team, Bree glances at her. "Yes, he's on the Quidditch team for Ravenclaw. Who knows, he might be thrilled to show you flying tricks." With that, Anna seemed to stop talking for a moment. As Bree thought that she finally got peace, the Slytherin proved her wrong and opened her mouth again. So.... is he your friend? Or are you guys something else? Her eyes sparkle as she said the last part. Getting the meaning, Bree makes a disgusted face. "Ew no! Just.. no! He's my friend so don't scare him off." Anna tilts her head, What do you mean scare him off?

Letting out a sigh in relief when they finally get to Mikey, she ignores the look of amusement that he gives them and her step-sisters question. Shaking her head slowly when Mikey asks if shes okay, the younger girl caught it. Whats wrong? Is it your homework? It's terrible! I bet the homework for the second year is even harder than the first! Letting out a soft sigh, she notes as Mikey glances between the two sisters. "It's about the same I guess. And nothing is wrong, just joking." Letting out a soft fake laugh, she grabs Mikey's hand and pulls him into a hug, most likely causing him to fumble (or drop you decide!) his broom "Save me!" She whispers into his ear before pulling back. Looking at him pleadingly, she silently prays that he has something, no anything, to distract Anna and get her to stop talking.

Staring at him, she resists the urge to groan in disappointment when the intelligent thing that comes out of his mouth is... his name. Anna bounces on her toes excitedly as she opens her mouth to say whatever long stream of words that most likely would come out of her mouth. "And this is Anna, my uh" Bree trails off not really knowing what to say. She couldn't actually admit that, that's her fathers daughter and her stepsister. At least not in front of Anna. She could not ruin the perfect little family that girl has. Could not let her father ruin another family he decided to create.

Her new best friend! Anna pulls Bree into a side hug and squeezes her. Her eyes, go wide and she shifts slightly away from her. Too much. Biting her lip, she sighs softly when Anna finally lets go. Desperately looking at Mikey and pleading with her eyes, her sister surprisingly notices his broom.

Oh my God! Bree told me you were a Quidditch player! I wanna do it so bad. Any tips? You gotta, I mean like have to, teach us how to fly like you guys do!

Looking at Anna with a bewildered face, she stops herself from saying, "What do you mean, us?" Biting her lip once more, maybe Mikey will find a way to keep Anna occupied. But Bree also needs to tell him about her situation with Anna. By the way he was glancing at them, he could tell the similarities between the two girls. The similarities they had was from their shared father. Unfortunately.

Offering a tight smile at Mikey she says softly, "I think I'd tap out if y'all start flying around"

Mikey almost lost his grip on the broom when Bree suddenly grabbed him and pulled him into a hug. For a second he just stood there, caught completely off guard while trying not to drop either the broom or himself onto the grass. Then he heard the whisper against his ear. “Save me.” That explained everything. His eyes flicked immediately toward Anna before returning to Bree again. The desperate look she was giving him made it very obvious this was no longer just a slightly annoying conversation. Bree looked genuinely trapped.

Mikey was trying very hard not to laugh. Mostly at how unbelievably obvious her silent panic was now that he noticed it. Anna was still talking excitedly about Quidditch and flying while Bree looked one sentence away from walking directly into the lake. Mikey shifted the broom against his shoulder before making a decision. A terrible decision probably. Without really thinking about it too much, he reached down and took Bree’s hand lightly in his own. “We actually kinda needed a minute anyway,” he said casually, like this had already been the plan the entire time.

His thumb rubbed once absentmindedly against the back of Bree’s hand, mostly to silently reassure her he was helping. Mikey glanced toward Anna with an apologetic smile. “Bree’s been hiding from me all week because of homework,” he explained easily. “So I’m stealing her for a bit.”T hen, before Anna could immediately attach herself to the conversation again, Mikey added with a slight grin. “You know how it is.” He gently tugged Bree a small step closer beside him before continuing. “But,” he added quickly, nodding toward the broom, “I can help you with flying later if you want. Promise.”

Then his brain finally caught up with the fact that he was still holding Bree’s hand. And standing very close to her. And had just announced they “needed a minute.” Oh no. Mikey’s expression shifted almost instantly as realization hit him full force. His ears started turning red before he awkwardly cleared his throat and suddenly became very interested in adjusting the broom against his shoulder.

After whispering help into Mikeys ear, she swore to herself that she would slap him if he started bursting out in laughter. He looked at both of the girls and she saw the amusement twinkling in his eyes. Rolling her own, she was glad he manage to hold in the laughter that was bubbling in him. Anna was still completely clueless of everything else. She offers an answer to her when she could or mostly wants to. After anna practically demands for Mikey to teach her, he grabs her hand. Freezing she looks at him as he says they need a minute together. Her confusion about him grabbing her hand is forgotten as she turns to him and raises an eyebrow. "We do?" Not noticing the he rubs the back of her hand, she spots Anna out of the corner of her eye.

The young girl look like she was about to explode from... excitement? She had the biggest grin on and her eyes sparkled with excitment and joy as if she was talking with her celebrity crush and he said she was pretty. Mikey was still talking saying something about her hiding from him with homework? What does that mean? He grins at the girl ""You know how it is" Her eyes widen as she fakes a cough to hide the laugh of disbelief. Anna wiggles her eyebrows at them as he pulled her closer and gave her sister the promise of helping her with flying. With an ear splitting grin anna squeals, "Take all the time you need!"

Once he pulled her off to the side she turns to him. His ears were red as a tomato while he fixates on his broom. "You have no clue what you probably just put into her mind" The gryffindor cheeks were bright red as she glance towards Anna. Anna was watching them very intensly with a mischievous smile. Once she noticed that Bree was looking at her, she waggaled her eyebrows, "Dont worry about me! Take all the time you need" After saying this she winked at her.

Turning back to Mikey she gave a tigt smile "Yep you totally put something in her head." Letting out a soft laugh she contiues. "She will not let it go. Are you going to actually help her with flying though?"

Glancing towards her once more, she raises her eyebrows at what shes doing. On her back she moved her arms as if shes making a snow angel. It was obvious that Anna had become bored in the short time they were gone.

Mikey followed Bree's glance and immediately spotted Anna across the courtyard. Unfortunately, Anna was also looking directly at them. The second she noticed both of them looking her way, she wiggled her eyebrows again. Mikey's entire expression collapsed. He actually groaned, dragging a hand down his face. "That's not the look of someone who misunderstood something. That's the look of someone who has already decided what happened and is now creating a whole story around it."

His eyes drifted back toward Anna, who somehow looked even more amused than before. Mikey sighed heavily. "I was just trying to help." There had been no plan. No clever idea. No thought process whatsoever. Bree had looked completely overwhelmed. Then she'd grabbed him, hugged him out of nowhere, and whispered "save me" into his ear like she was being held captive by an enthusiastic pixie. He'd reacted and that was it. Unfortunately, reacting without thinking was responsible for a surprising amount of his problems. Now that he thought about it, it was probably responsible for most of them.

Mikey looked back at Bree. "To be fair, You ran over here." Then he pointed at himself "You hugged me." His finger moved back toward her. "And then you whispered for help like you were trapped in a burning building." A grin started forming on his face. "I was working with very limited information." He paused for a sec. "Honestly, I think I handled it pretty well." The grin lasted all of three seconds before he caught sight of Anna again. She was still watching and still smiling. His shoulders slumped. "Never mind."

For a few moments he just watched Anna from where they stood. The longer he looked, the more confused he became. She had somehow gone from watching them to entertaining herself nearby. He wasn't entirely sure how. Or why, or what exactly she was doing. Frankly he still didn’t even know who this girl was. His eyes narrowed slightly. "Alright." He pointed a finger toward Anna. "I need answers." Looking back at Bree, genuine curiosity had finally replaced most of his embarrassment. "Who is she?"

His eyes drifted back to Bree. "You were about ten seconds away from making a run for it when I showed up." The relief on Bree's face when she'd seen him had been immediate which meant something was definitely going on here.
