She sighed. She wasn't a fan of dinner time or breakfast or lunch for that matter. Any of those social gathering times where they split up to their four houses. She would go sit with the other Hufflepuffs and appear as though she was busy reading or doing schoolwork as to not seem so pathetic.

It was a lot of work. Maybe this time she would write to her father. Actually write to him. She looked down to her parchment that was still mostly blank. All that was written was the date and "Dear Father," and the other bit of the paper awaited more.

No, she didn't want her thoughts to be on this during supper so she went ahead and grabbed her quill and began to write it there:

Dear Father,

Everything is going well at Hogwarts. Assignments are being done and grades are decent enough.
Bella and I send our best.

It said nothing at all but it didn't matter. She could spill out that she was in Hufflepuff and that she feared coming home for the summer and any other of her deepest secrets and her father probably wouldn't even read it. All he cared about was the appearance that she wrote.

" I wonder why Alina won't tell her father about her being in one of the best houses at this school of magic. I mean Hufflepuff is not that bad I don't think. But it always could be like my father saying witch house I must be in and I send him a letter saying that I made it into a great house, " Slytherin" and he did not respond to my letter so I guess I will not be wanting to go back home this year or maybe he never got it I never really did trust those owls because it is like they are always watching you everywhere you go and monitoring your every move with those heads that can turn all the way around." She hoped that Alina would soon tell her father that she was in the house of Hufflepuff and that it was a awesome house to be in.

She gathered up a few more of her things and tucked the note into her bag so she could drop it off at the owlery later to be delivered. "He'll be disappointed, I'm almost sure of it," she began. "He was in in Slytherin as were both of his parents, and both of their parents. It's been a long standing tradition with the Rosier family and Hogwarts. My mum, she didn't go here. She was of magic though. She went to Beauxbatons in France."

"Maybe that'll be it. Maybe after this year he'll pull me from Hogwarts and try to get me into Beauxbatons. I would rock their uniform although powder blue, while a brilliant color, isn't really MY color. Clashes with the eyes."

"That'll be so strange, going to a new school and a different school than Bella. I suppose people wouldn't be mixing up the two of us then."

Alina talked rather fast. " Lord, Alina can say so much in so little time! I wonder why she talks so fast? I'll ask her." " Hey, Alina you talk really fast and who is Bella? I was just wondering because she seems like a important person in your life or something of the sort." Meredith was naturally curious about pretty much anything including stuff like, Horses, all animals, magical creatures, and so on but something she always is curious about is Horses. Meredith has always thought that they could watch her everywhere like even in her house.

In her slight despair she couldn't help but stop and look at her friend before laughing. "Mer," as if she should know and maybe she never mentioned it specifically. Maybe, although Meredith was in the same house and year, maybe the two never really crossed paths much. "Bella is my twin sister. Identical twin. She got sorted into your house."

And maybe she didn't bring it up a lot because it did make her extremely jealous. Plus, a lot of their topics did center around magical creatures and not other friends, family, and so on. It was understandable that she really didn't know of Bella in a sense.

Plus it wasn't as if the two spent much time together being sorted into different houses. Alina spent more time with Meredith although she was a Slytherin than her own sister. "What about you?" time to turn this conversation around. "Do you have any siblings, Mer? Tell me about your family."

While she did tend to blabber on a lot she did like to get to know others - their background, their ambitions, their plans, and their passions. That especially went for her friends who she spent a great deal of time with.
