XXXXX𝓛ight rain trickled slowly against the condensed window, faint sounds of quills scribing against pieces of parchment echoing the room. Children engrossed in transcribing phrases out of this week's book; Jinxes for the Jinxed. Tuition had served as a way for wizarding children to ease their way into the academic shift, Meiyu herself intrigued with the book choice for once, her gaze fixated as she trailed the tip of her quill against the words woven cautiously into the parchment. Education differed immensely from that of Muggle primary school. Having done her entire schooling in England, the only difference had the few months of pre-school in South Korea prior to the family relocating to England in 2017 after the birth of the youngest Xiang child, Bomi.

Ripe at the age of ten, Meiyu's eleventh birthday approached quicker than she had anticipated — concluding her final year of primary school only weeks ago. Upon her first instance of magic, it had only solidified that she would follow her maternal linage with a likely admission into Hogwarts and to ease the transition, she had been enrolled into a tuition programme over the summer. It had been everything she predicted — pureblooded children coerced together, most seeking early relations, few education and for Meiyu, something to occupy her time.

Something cruel and sinister had bothered her this afternoon, presenting itself in a presentation which she had prepared for and notes being unaccounted for. Violent humiliation resulted in her cheeks burning a light shade of coral, laughter echoing the room as the tutor attempted to ease the situation while she marched with irritation evident in each step, each step thumping aiding in antagonisation. Meiyu's unreadable expression only raised further concerns from the tutor who had sent a letter home days prior; complaining the child had not made friends, refused to engage in discussions and spent more time glaring with a gleam in her eye that instructed her parents to re-consider a shrink. To the tutors misfortune, fee's had been paid in advance and Meiyu was unfortunate enough to have to stay.

Slamming the book shut, irritation brewing by the mere second, her lips pursed into a tight line, faint lines between her brows encapsulating her utter annoyance at the situation. Looping the textbook and quill into a tight grip in one arm, the other reached to grab the bag which hung off the chair she had taken her place in only hours ago. Heavy footsteps once more being heard as she hastily departed from the make-shift classroom of whatever bullshit manor she had been escorted to.

The solemn corridor aided in souring her mood, Meiyu omitting a light exhale in irritable mood she often found herself in whenever she had attended the tutoring sessions. Her bottom lip finding it's place between her teeth as she chewed on the skin, gaze shifting from left to right before she moved in the direction of the bathroom, opting to spend the rest of her day there. Resentment had grown each day she was succumbed to this hell whilst her two younger brothers enjoyed a freedom unbeknownst to them — preoccupied with their own extra-curricular activities which consisted of Jiamu's football club and Bomi's kick-boxing. The familiarity of the manor's structure had resulted in the young girl reaching the bathroom in a matter of preciecly ten seconds, her looped arm still holding her belongings pushed against the hardwood door, a foul stench akin to rotten eggs filling her nostrils faster than her escapade forced her face to contort into a scowl.

A silhouette had appeared in her peripheral vision as she moved further into the bathroom which desperately required re-designing. Confusion washed over her, deducing the rotten smell to likely omit from the stranger who stood with their back towards her, assuming the latter lacked basic hygiene. Meiyu's presence had gone without acknowledgement, accredited to her lack of verbatim towards the foul stench, curtsey of the basic etiquette that had been instilled into her from a young age. Uncertainty loomed over the child rather quickly, adamant that the silhouette had belonged to a face that she had almost forgotten from the vast curricular's held within Oxfordshire county. Though highly unlikely, there had been a small percentage which had questioned all potential outcomes, deducing it to such a slim chance that fate would have aid in this twisted reunion.

"Should you not be in one of the classrooms?" Her voice almost betraying her, laced with a hint of intrigue whilst attempting to concur her deductions being correct — they always were.
