Lauren scanned the Great Lake for areas to push Felix, Arianna, and Axel in. She saw the silhouette of Axel nearing her and Briar, seemingly unaware of the prank of which they were about to pull. Snickering, she stuck out a finger and mimicked pushing their siblings into the lake. Then, with luck, Arianna would kiss Axel under the water. Knowing Felix, he would likely get jealous. An underwater love triangle.
She would love that. And then there would be heartbreak. She longed for Arianna to feel despair. Real pain. Not like the pain she felt when Lauren stubbed her toe.
She also wanted Arianna to be hated by Felix. They were a romantic duo, but seriously, she wanted to stir up drama back at home. Family gatherings would be a disaster, and not just because of Lauren and Aunt Loratrix. It would be because of her "golden" siblings. How embarrassing for them.
Well, I guess they won't be embarrassed as badly as they would be in school, she thought.
Unlike Lauren, Arianna never had a best friend. She, Lauren, had Briar. And she was just her eleventh day of school. While it was Arianna's third year.
Remember, don't get too arrogant, or Arianna might outsmart you someday, she reminded herself.
Still, she couldn't find any part of the lake where it would be most dangerous to fall in. But then again, she didn't want the part of the lake which they were to push their siblings in to be too dangerous, or they might start working together to resurface. That would strengthen their friendship -- or love for each other -- instead of damaging it. And that was not what Lauren wanted.
Right. She then realised that it would be best to pour something secretively dangerous, so that her siblings wouldn't suspect anything --
But it won't be fun! They'd be unconscious before they even reach the bottom and gurgle! I want to see torture! I want to see pain!
She knew that it was wrong of her to wish torture and pain on their siblings, but they had done too much of that to her in the past. Surely it was only fair if she inflicted pain back?
Yes, it was only fair.

With a nod to Briar, Lauren smirked yet again and pushed Arianna into the lake, smiling as she saw her flailing arms and heard her ear-piercing scream. She turned to look at Felix to see his reaction, who stared at her in disgust and horror. He took one step towards her, his arms outstretched as to push her down the lake along with her sister, but Lauren was faster. With a laugh, she reached forwards, arms outstretched, and pushed him into the lake.
She looked at Briar in satisfaction as the scene unfolded before her eyes. A hand was desperately trying to reach up to the surface, while she could see eyes blazing with hatred beneath. The intrusive thoughts struck her again. Ignoring her surroundings, Lauren reached a hand towards the edge of the Great Lake and pushed them further in. Her eyes gleamed in satisfaction as they struggled with undisguised hatred. Since they had decided to treat her like dirt out of their own free will, Lauren was going to make sure that they paid the rightful price.
Briar seemed to be... pleased. She came up towards Lauren, her lips wrung into a smile, and whispered, "good job. Let's see how pushing Axel turns out. Maybe he and Arianna will actually kiss, and --"
Lauren snorted in amusement, and scanned the Great Lake one more time to see if Axel was lurking somewhere. By the looks of it, it seemed that he was not. Rolling her eyes, Lauren directed her attention to Arianna and Felix, who seemed submerged in the lake. She smiled, but part of her wanted to free them. She bit her lip in anger, telling herself, how can you even think of rescuing them? They're the worst beings to ever live! You were just a victim; this was none of your fault! And if they think that you're guilty, at least you now are!
This was one of the rare times where Lauren had felt confident and that she was truly the victim of her siblings' hatred. That it was none of her fault. And the voices in their mind -- they usually were there -- but today, there weren't. She didn't hate herself, not at all, for what she had done. Perhaps revenge was just too sweet to wash them out. Her lips curved into a genuine smile. This was paradise. And even better still, with her best friend.
She looked at Briar, her heart feeling lighter -- no, much lighter -- than usual. This was the life she could've had if her family didn't despise her so much for such petty reasons. Mischief. Pranks. Just... eleven-year-old fun.
Then she saw Axel, walking unsuspectingly towards them. She looked at Briar, who seemed to signal that Lauren should do the push instead. Feeling a wave of gratitude towards her bestie for letting her do tasks that she too enjoyed so much, Lauren promised herself that she would push him in exactly where he would kiss (even if accidentally) Arianna. She positioned herself, took a calculating step, then stayed still like a predator lying in wait. Then she pushed him right next to the spot where Arianna seemed to have fallen, and smiled. This was going to be fun.
She tried hard to stifle her giggle as Axel had, as she predicted, kissed Arianna right on the lips. Briar's brother had seemed disgusted -- he wrenched away from her and tried to clamber onto the surface. That wasn't going to happen, right?
Unfortunately for Lauren, her prediction was wrong. Not.
Indeed, Axel had managed to get up out of the lake, shaking in fury. "GET THOSE TWO OUT! NOW!" he commanded, as if thinking that he was more superior than both of them because he was older. And Lauren would refuse to let him act as though he was the center of the world.
"Unfortunately for you, that's not going to happen," she said, as if daring him to challenge her. She could tell that Briar liked her attitude, and that fueled her to continue her speech. "And I'll make sure that the whole school knows that you kissed Arianna if you dare say a word. Well, your sister here is really popular, way more than you, I should say. I have no doubt that they'll trust her over you --"
She tensed in surprise as Felix gasped, pulling Arianna with him, to the surface. He fixed his gaze on Lauren, his fists clenched as if he were deciding how to punch Lauren. Then he did exactly that.
SMACK!
Blood filled her eyes and nose, but she couldn't let Briar worry. "Go!" she told her. "I'll deal with this excuse for a wizard." She let out a sigh of relief as Briar obeyed immediately. Shaking with fury, Lauren rounded on Felix, who was talking to Arianna in a hushed tone. Seeing the Slytherin, the two Ravenclaws hurried away, leaving Lauren with nothing but silence.
Annoyed, she followed them, still cursing under her breath.
Permission to godmod Briar Anderson and her dNPC's was given.
