The second path was the most boring of the three, so it was disappointing to Jessamine that it ended up being the right one. She placed her palms on her shoulders, trying to avoid touching the ‘knowing locals’ that guided them along the path to their next stumbling block. Jessamine giggled at Pyxis’ obvious discomfort. She was this close to swatting the gnomes away when they got near, but their passage was quick enough to the door that she didn’t need to. Speaking of the door, it was imposing and smelled nice. Pyxis tried the handle, but Jessamine thought the action was redundant. Though, she did hope he got electrocuted or something but nothing of the sort happened.

You’re much better than me at this studying thing,” Jessamine sighed, watching Pyxis attempt to cast the shrinking charm. Even if she wanted to, Jessamine knew the spell would blow up in her face if she tried. She vaguely remembered learning about it around the end of second year, but her mind was already focused on heading back home to terrorize her family so she had no interest in actually learning at that point. It was an oversight clearly, as practicing the spell would’ve come in quite handy right about now. Ah well, it wasn’t like she was well-versed in third year spells either.

ROUND 3 MOD POST
(Group 11)

How strange. The group didn’t seem to really like the gnomes, despite the sweet temper of them. But, they were definitely happy when they smelt the roses.
Upon Pyxis's successful casting of Reducio, the golden key shrinks up, a glistening shine covering the key as it becomes just the right size. With the newly shrunken key, the players would find it a perfect fit into the door’s keyhole! The lock seemed to glow and hum, as if in approval at the players' success. Twisting the key, players would hear a click. In the blink of an eye, light glowed from the door as the material chipped away into dust, revealing a now-empty doorway.

Obstacle 3

Stepping past this doorway, players would be faced with an opulent yard fit for a queen. In the centre of it was a huge, luxurious pool made of shiny marble and adorned with ruby gemstone statues. The water was a brilliant, shimmering teal in the pool, quite unlike regular water, and under the sunlight, the sight was almost blinding.

The pool would have been perfect for a summer party– If not for what seemed to be a death machine in the middle of it. A flat path of emerald grass connected one end of the pool to the other, and hanging atop it was what seemed to be an axe. Back and forth the axe swung over the centre of the path, blocking the path to the next obstacle! Thankfully, if any players squinted, they would realise the axe is almost akin to a soft pillow version of the real deal.

Tighten those shoelaces and watch your step, challengers! You're going to have to make a mad dash.
