Alexa nodded in response to Clay’s admission that she didn’t care what House she got into. Truth be told, other than not wanting to be a “Slyth,” or whatever they were called, she didn’t mind the sound of any of the other Houses, either. Though Gryffindor sounded pretty cool, with its brave people and so on. Alexa smiled wryly. She doubted she would get into Gryffindor. She was far from brave, at least that’s what she thought of herself.
Clay’s expression looked a little harder when she said that she was going to become greater than anyone who treats her differently because of where she came from. Privately, Alexa completely agreed, but she wasn’t as bold as Clay, and didn’t know how to say so out loud. Alexa had no trouble standing up for others who were being bullied. She had gotten over that a couple of years ago when a friend of hers was badly bullied and she had stepped in. But she still wasn’t used to standing up for herself. It was something she would most likely have opportunities to do plenty of in the future…
Suddenly, there was a commotion outside of the compartment just as the woman with the trolley was leaving. Crash! A boy went headlong into the trolley, knocking things off and making quite a clatter. Alexa stood up in surprise, and watched as the woman waved her wand to clean up the mess. It looks so elegantly done, that she was impressed. When the trolley lady left, the boy was still there looking sheepish, so she went to the compartment door and opened it slightly, poking her head out. “Hello,” she said quietly. “I think we have some room in here if we move around a bit. That’s if you want to join us, of course!” She blushed, realizing she assumed he wanted to sit with them, but of course he was just as likely not to want to. She stood at the door uncertainly and waited for his response.

Alexa asked is it matter about the blood status was? and Meredith explain it briefly. "Well, in my opinion I think it did not matter at all but if you ever meet Father, do not ever mention that to his face. His what other people called Pureblood elitist"Cassie sighed regarding how his father see the blood status thing. It is their mother that teach them always treat other people equally and never call Muggle born a Mudblood.
Then Meredith turnt to them saying Ravenclaw seems work too since Cassie knew a lot of Hogwarts history and whatsnot. Meredith also make a remark that Cassie read all the books that required to study for the young First Years. "No, no. Not all, just a few. A few that worth my attention and time"Cassie corrected Meredith.
Clay said no thanks to Cassie offer from the Trolley Witch. "Alright"Cassie said to her and paid for their purchase. Clay said she did not care which house she get into. She just want to have fun and learning things. Cassie nodded at that. "Some people will call Muggle-born a Mu-Mud,"Cassie can not bring themself to said that vile word. "Mudblood"whispered Cassie. They make a face after saying that. Like it is a strange thing to say.
Then Clay made a remark about it should not matter. She will become greater than anyone who treat her differently. The tone on Clay voice, makes Cassie can not help their smug smile appear on their face. Cassie clapped their hands. "That's the spirit, lass. Let it be your fuel of fire for the rest of your seven years"Cassie express their gleefulness.
Then they heard a crash from outside of the four First year students. Alexa was the first one that got up from her position. She said hello to the scarf wearing boy that earlier sat in the aisle of the compartment then scrambled to his feet. Alexa offers the compartment to the boy if the said boy want to join the compartment where occupied by Alexa, Clay, Meredith and themself. "You alright, lad? Come on in you want"Cassie smile warmly to the boy with a bit of Spanish accent.

Cassie mentioned something about her father and how he was something called a Pureblood Elitist. Clay couldn't help but roll her eyes. Oh my God, here we go. Although she wasn't sure how she felt about this girl, she was pretty sure that she didn't like her father. She hadn't met the man but if his own daughter was repeating things like that, Clay didn't want to meet her parents. Clay's grandmother once said you could learn a lot about someone's kin just by seeing how one them acted.
"Some people will call Muggle-born a Mu-Mud," said Cassie, trying to get the word out. Clay knew exactly what she was trying to say, and she wasn't having it.
"No one better call me that, that's all I know," she growled, glaring at Meredith. She wasn't even the one who attempted to say it but Clay felt like she was the type who would, without a care.
Cassie praised her for her proud little speech about defending herself, but Clay only folded her arms. Who would expect anything less, she thought.
Suddenly there was a crash. Everyone looked out to see a boy on the floor surrounded by treats from the trolley.
Clay couldn't help but snort, holding back a fit of laughter. At least she did so into her fist, hoping the sound had been muffler, but she doubted it. She looked at Alexa to share the laugh but instead she found concern. Clay looked away sheepishly, feeling bad. She shouldn't have laughed but it had all happened so sudden. And it ended suddenly, too. The witch cleaned up everything with a flick of her wand, like it was the most normal thing to do.
Clay wondered when she'd be able to do things like that.
She stood up and followed Alexa, who she wasn't surprised to see invite the boy in; Cassie did too but she wasn't even the original person in the compartment. Anyway, it just seemed like the Alexa thing to do, be kind to others in distress, while Clay was here giggling at someone else's demise. She felt foolish but she managed to look a least a little considerate, for all that it was worth. The boy was already picking himself off the floor anyway.
Clay sat back down in her seat, scooting closer to the window to allow room for the boy. Now there would be five of them, and it wasn't going to be all girls anymore.
Folding her arms again, Clay asked him, "What's your name?" Any trace of humor was wiped from her face, leaving behind open curiosity. She had seen the Trolley Lady pass him the chocolate frog. She didn't know if he had paid for it but that didn't matter; she wanted to know which card he'd gotten. She might ask later.

As dumb as he felt, the invitation was a huge relief. He gave the kind red-head and the girl with the cool accent behind her a grateful smile.
"Yeah, that'd be great," he shrugged, trying to act like he hadn't just bruised his tailbone on a bag of jellybeans. "Thanks."
He waited until they'd cleared some room and then took a spot next to the door.
"What's your name?" a small girl with a shock of curly hair asked.
"Uh, Cliff. Or Clifton. Troublefield," he fumbled. "Guess I need to watch where I'm going. What's your names? Are you guys first-years too?"
Clifton didn't know why, but for some reason he hadn't expected a school with the same kind of people to have...well, so many different kinds of people. At least not all in one compartment. Hair color aside, he got the impression that not all of the girls typically hung in the same crowd. Or, at least they probably wouldn't have at his other school. He wondered if they had also just met on the train.
Even with all the shopping and racing around, he still found himself fidgeting. He often did on long trips or during class when he knew he would be cooped up for awhile, but never really paid attention unless someone pointed it out.
Or unless he had four pairs of eyes on him. He began to wonder what magic kids even talked about. Did they watch TV or play video games? He figured he was about to find out.

" Um hello person, this is Clay, Cassandra, Alexa, and I am Meredith" She told this boy named Clifton pointing to each one of them. Meredith then pulled a book on griffins out of her bag and read a bit of it, It has the front legs, wings and head of a giant eagle, and the body, hind legs, and tail of a lion. The main diet of the Griffin is raw meat. Griffins are known as fierce creatures, however, despite this, skilled wizards and witches have been able to befriend them. Griffins are often used by wizards as guards of treasure, like Sphinxes. it also said this about hippogriffs witch surprised Meredith a lot because it was a book on griffins not hippogriffs, " A Hippogriff was a magical beast that had the front legs, wings, and head of a giant eagle and the body, hind legs and tail of a horse. It was very similar to another magical creature, the Griffin, with the horse rear replacing the lion rear." " Hey guys look at this book it has almost too much information on griffins and hippogriffs." She said showing the book to Alexa then to Clay then to Cassie and then to Clifton.

Alexa was astounded to hear that Cassie’s father was so stuck up. She wondered if many wizards and witches thought the same way Cassie’s father did, and certainly hoped they did not. That would definitely make things more difficult for a Muggle-more like herself.
As she was contemplating blood statuses and their apparent importance in this world, Cassie continued, mentioning something about mud. Alexa was only half listening, but she saw immediately the response on Clay’s face and knew that whatever Cassie had been about to say was not a good thing. Cassie had finished the word in a way that Alexa could hear, but she wondered if this “mud” word had to do with Muggle-borns.
Clay responded with vehemence to the statement, glaring around. Alexa was tempted to ask what the word was, out of curiosity and to know what to avoid, but the way Clay was reacting made her think twice about asking.
And then she was at the door with Cassie, inviting in the new passenger who had just taken out the trolley cart. He introduced himself as Clifton, or Cliff, and seemed a little fidgety and nervous. He asked about them, and Meredith gave their names.
“Yes,” Alexa answered quietly, with a smile. “We are first years. We were just discussing Houses and whatnot.” She didn’t want to get into the “what not” of blood statuses, prejudices, and so on.
Before Cliff could answer, Meredith was chattering about magical creatures, and showing them a book she had. Alexa raised her eyebrows in surprise: griffons were real! But what was a hippogriff? She shook her head, and turned back to Clifton. “So what House do you think you will be sorted into?” She asked, wondering (rather belatedly)if, like her, he would know what she was talking about or not. She had not, when first asked.

Oh, sorry
I meant for him to come off as energetic and can't sit still but I can see how it came across as nervous. I guess he could be, its a new experience. But note taken. I'll work on that in the way I write him.
The book sparked his curiosity. He was itching to turn its pages and learn more, hardly believing these creatures were real outside of his video games. He wondered what it would take to ride one.
“So what House do you think you will be sorted into?”
He pried his eyes away from the pages as the book was passed along and looked up to see that the girl named Alexa had directed the question at him.
"Uh," his brain scrambled for an answer. Leo had mentioned houses when explaining Hogwarts to his family, but everything had happened so fast today that he couldn't piece it back together. Something about a bird and a snake and a puffy badger. "I don't know. I guess whatever one will take me."
Just as long as there wasn't one with something like a rainbow unicorn as its symbol.
Casually, he reached into his pocket for the chocolate frog the woman had given him. And made his second mistake by opening it.
He really should've seen it coming, with the one he'd seen climbing on the other compartment door. But, as always, his curiosity got the best of him and he wanted to see the thing up close. Instantly the frog leapt from the little container--and directly into Cassie's hair.
Clifton winced. "I...sorry."
Some token of good luck.

The new addition to the girls compartment was a nice change. Even though at first the boy created a bit chaos by crashing into the Trolley Witch cart. The boy introduced his name as Clifton or for short can be called as Cliff.
The four of them make room for the boy and as much as Cassie need a quiet compartment but the compartment that they in, is enjoyable and fun to be around with. By now Cassie can concluded that Alexa and Clay are the ones that not so familiar with magic world, Meredith can come as pretentious and for Cliff himself, well as first impression goes he is a fun lad to be around with.
Meredith then show the book that she holds in her hands around. Cassie did not know that Griffon was an actual animal but they know that Hippogriff is real. "I do not know that Griffon was an actual animal"Cassie coined their thought to the group. Then Alexa address to Cliff. She asked which house the boy will get sorted into.
Clifton quiet for a moment, maybe he trying to remember something. Perhaps about the symbol of each Houses. Then Clifton said that he do not know and he tell the group whichever the house will take him, he will do fine.
"So, you do not care if you will be sorted into Slytherin?"Cassie inquires the boy. Cassie a bit taken aback by the boy answer. It is not an everyday thing people choose to be a Serpent unless one of their parents / siblings / relatives are or was one. Clifton then reached into his pocket and take out the blue diamond shape of Chocolate Frog.
He opens the box and the chocolate frog leapt out from the box. Clifton winces and said sorry to them. Cassie for a moment confused but then they felt a cold and slimy sensation on their hair. "The hell?"Cassie lift their hand and pried out the frog from their hair. There is no angry remark only surprise one.
The medium size chocolate frog croaked in their hand, "Do you still want it? Beside the chocolate is not important. The important part is the card"Informs Cassie to Cliff.

The boy said his name was Clifton Troublefield. It sounded like a funny name but she guessed that it was no more funny than her own name. Now that she thought of it, Clay felt like her name fit well into the wizarding community, where people had queer names from Zofuphaetus to Blazewinter. McGlinchy had always been a little up there, especially back when she had thought she was a muggle but now she felt like she fit in rather well.
While everyone was talking Clay took the time to really take in the people she shared the compartment with, all four of them.
“So what House do you think you will be sorted into?”
She already knew what she thought of the ginger. To her Alexa was the most pleasurable out of the whole group, but that was really only because she seemed to be the most quiet and thoughtful. Clay liked people who would listen and think of others a lot. From what she heard of the houses she figured that Alexa would get into Hufflepuff if not Gryffindor.
"So, you do not care if you will be sorted into Slytherin?"
Cassandra...well, for now she was just Cassandra, or Cassie, whatever she wanted to be called. Clay thought she was interesting but on the verge of being stuck up, if she didn't watch what she said about other people who weren't as 'fortunate'. Clay didn't like people like that, who's ignorance hurt other people. But her grandmother said that some people just didn't know any better and besides, she thought Cassie was funny, too.
"Hey guys, look at this book, it has almost too much information on griffins and hippogriffs."
Meredith was alright, but Clay didn't think she was going to like her for long, or at least not most of the time. It was something about her that rubbed her the wrong way. Maybe it was the way she so bluntly stated her opinions or seemed to truly think that Purebloods were better, if that's what she had been implying early. Clay was raised that people made themselves. No one was truly born into success, you had to work hard and think, not be ever so arrogant like she was starting to really feel. But she had only just met everyone so Clay wasn't going to let herself judge too hard.
"I don't know. I guess whatever one will take me."
And Clifton...well, he seemed like a very excitable fellow. Clay liked watching him, wondering what he would do next, and she wasn't left disappointed. Not long after he joined he managed to send a chocolate frog—a moving and seeming alive one, at that—flying across the compartment until it landed on Cassie's hand.
Clay gasped, surprised at that the fact that it had moved on it's own. But soon she burst into laughter at the sight of Cassie's face.
"The hell?" she cried, prying the frog off her head. Clay leaned in closer to get a good look at the thing. "Do you still want it? Besides, the chocolate is not important. The important part is the card."
Card? wondered Clay. Then she turned to look at the box that Clifton still held in his expectedly. "Show it to us," she demanded, thoroughly curious.

Clifton took the frog back, though he really wasn't sure what to do with it. It didn't feel right eating chocolate that could hop, but he was afraid if he let go of it it would cause more chaos and he'd lose his spot in the compartment. With his other hand, he looked down at the card that came with it.
"Uh...Derwent Shimpling?" Sheesh, he hoped there weren't too many names like that where they were headed. "He looks really...purple. Are they based off real people?"
He could already tell that it wasn't a very impressive card. The guy in it looked about as intimidating as a throw pillow with his bright clothes and ample belly. But Clifton liked it. And he continued to look at it from different angles, trying to figure out how they gave it that 3D sort of effect.
Until he remembered that he'd ran through a magical brick wall in order to catch a magical train on its way to a magical school. Duh. He cleared his throat and looked back up at the others in the compartment with a shrug. "Guess I gotta keep collecting them to get better ones."
Then he looked over at the squirming frog that he held between his thumb and forefinger. "So...am I supposed to name this or something?"
