Wonderland Waltz
The Slytherin sighs internally, glad the Ravenclaw did not make a big deal about it. He hated nothing more than people pointing out his worst. She opened the cards, shuffling and informing about the basic rules. He nodded in acknowledgement as he noticed the different colours and symbols on it. "Why the different colours? And symbols?" To which, Ava recommended that they should play to get a hand of it, after giving a basic example of what they do.
Watching the girl shuffle fascinated the boy; she was fast at it, as if she had been doing it all her young life. As she was dividing the deck, an announcement came regarding the winners of Spring Royalty, which the Slytherin ignored. He did not care much about the pageants that the school held. But before they could begin their game, a sudden burst came. A fire was sparked unexpectedly. The Ravenclaw looked visibly panicked, to which Arin sat there looking at other panicking, some being smart enough to cast spells.
Ava was panicking but still the kind spirit inside her wanted to help, "I think you should get out of here," he recommended to her, a bit worried for her. "I will see what I can do, do not worry," he tried to calm her down. He tried to lead the girl out from the broken chandelier. "Watch yourself!" He called out as she was about to step on one of the glass pieces. "Quarzicum," he called out, pulling his wand, wanting to turn the glass into sand. Everything happened so fast, he wasn't sure if it would work or not.

Lily wasn't sure what she had been thinking when she had asked Ryder out with her to the ball. Maybe it was the fact that her mother had told her that she wanted her in the dress she had bought her. Or maybe she just wanted to.
Anyhow, she definitely hadn't thought that he would agree. But to her surprise, he had.
Then she saw Ryder enter the courtyard. He was looking exceptionally charismatic today, not like he didn't on any other day, just that he looked more handsome in the semi-formal attire.
As soon as he saw her, he walked towards her. Lily's thoughts started roaming again. "Would he think I am overdressed? Did I look like I was trying too hard?" She mentally slapped herself to hear what he was saying.
“You know, I was planning on pretending I looked decent tonight.” he said to her while a tiny smirk danced on his lips. “But now you’ve made that impossible.”
She blushed a bit; she had made a good decision not to wear any blush, because, looking like it, she would most likely spend most of her time blushing due to his words or getting flustered.
"That's funny. I thought you were looking very charismatic today," she replied. This came as a surprise to her as well. She usually never gave anyone compliments, especially not about their looks. But maybe, now, she was building her confidence, one slow step at a time.
"So... Since you taught me how to dance so well, would you like to dance with me? Music included this time?" She really hoped she had not just embarrassed herself in front of him. But then again, she couldn't help herself. He was one of the few people whom Lily could trust.

Blue in English, Red in KoreanRight...Perfect! Eun-ji expected things to go south, as usual, but she hoped she'd at least get a chance to have one dance. Why the hell did she think coming here was a good idea? And why did Ye-jun have to convince her to come? The Ravenclaw threw her cousin a rather dirty look but the boy simply shrugged in response. As if to say they both knew this was going to happen and she still agreed. Which...fair. Why else would she have brought an enchanted satchel full of medical supplies, magical and muggle ones alike? "But why is it always fire?" She muttered under her breath bitterly as if it would change anything. The burning misfortune was a constant companion during many of the school events in the past and she doubted it would change after she graduated. At this point, they could almost call it a tradition.
Soon, the onslaught of fire snuffing spells echoed through the courtyard and Eun-ji didn't feel like she needed to join those particular efforts on top of all the others. She did, however, frown at the echo of the Metelojinx incantation. Which idiot? An apparent disapproval flickered over her expression momentarily. Even a smaller water could bring unpleasant consequences but it would ultimately help. A thunderstorm? That was just asking for trouble! Still, the 7th year couldn't afford herself to linger on that. The words were already uttered and she could only deal with the aftermath should things go even more awry. For now, she'd rather focus on the individuals that needed helping. One such individual being a young girl that very clearly passed out from fright (@Hazel Nelson) and a boy (@Axel Brooks) that was struggling to help her. "Come on, oppa....we have a work to do." Her cousin nodded, clearly not even considering arguing with her on this one. "Right, lead on!"
Approaching the girl, she noted another young one (@Livia Machavariani) was attempting to help by levitating her away from the danger. Whether she'd succeed was an entirely another matter however. Either way, having a pair of older wizards around could't hurt. "You can try to wake her if you think she can handle it." She told the girl's date before handing him a Revive potion. "My cousin can also help you carry her to safety. It will be faster that way. Trust me, he is freakishly strong." She pointed at the Beauxbatons student next to her (Ye-jun Lee). Her tone was not especially kind but it was confident. Eun-ji had been though her fair share of crises during the seven years she spent at Hogwarts and knew better than to panic. Not that she was the type to panic in the first place. Lucky for many of her peers that were ultimately saved due to said trait.

Violet in English, Red in Korean and Blue in FrenchShattered glass and explosions. Just the thing Hogwarts balls were known for! Well..not exactly that, but it was often something along those lines. Because truly...how many students already had a PTSD when it came to fire at this point? So no, Ye-jun was not surprised when the chaos errupted, and judging by the sharp look his cousin swiftly gave him, neither was she. For this very reason, the Beauxbatons student simply shrugged in response. He knew Eun-ji was ready anyway. She always was. Going around everyday, armed with all kind of supplies and extensive knowledge of healing magic was nothing new. All her peers expected as much from the Ravenclaw so why wouldn't he? They were family, he would naturally understand that much about her. This meant, the Korean boy also wasn't surprised when she took charge and immediately zeroed on her first target. "Right, lead on!"
Approaching the scene with the two young witches and a wizard, Ye-jun let his cousin do the talking. He was merely there to assist. "You make me sound like some kind of freak..." He couldn't help but grumble at Eun-ji's words even as he surveyed their surroundings for anyone suspicious. Despite his protests however, he did not disagree. He was a martial artist and planned to become a professional boxer in the future so yeah...he had built quite a bit of a muscle even if he didn't look particularly bulky at a first glance. Sue him for working hard towards his goals! As if his cousin wasn't exactly the same. "She's right though, I can carry your friend outside with no issues. You can just follow and assist if necessary." He addressed the boy (@Axel Brooks) directly.
Assuming things wouldn't spiral, carrying his this little lady shouldn't pose a problem and it was not as if the young girl (@Livia Machavariani) could levitate her all the way out of the courtyard. Even if she successfully lifted her, she wouldn't be able to move her far with levioso. Not to mention she'd probably be interrupted somewhere along the way. The harsh truth was, young kids needed to look after themselves first before attempting to save others. No matter how noble it may have seemed to do otherwise.
Even though he agreed to help, Ye-jun didn't immediately reach for the unconscious girl (@Hazel Nelson). He was someone very protective of the people close to his heart so he knew better than to grab someone hastily. Still, he understood himself well enough to recognize that he would do exactly that if the situation demanded it. At that point, a permission wouldn't really matter to him. The instinct would likely take over. There was nothing he could do about that one unfortunately.

Ryder’s brain short-circuited a little the second she complimented him back.Because Lily wasn’t the type to throw compliments around just to be nice. Which meant she meant it.
And somehow that affected him way more than it should have.
The smirk on his face faded into something softer for a second before he recovered quickly.
“Careful,” he said lightly, “keep saying things like that and I might actually start believing you.”
Then she asked him to dance.
A small laugh escaped him as he stepped closer.
“Music included this time?” he repeated. “Merlin, we’re getting advanced now.”
His grey eyes flickered over her face briefly before he offered his hand toward her without even a hint of hesitation.
Like he’d been waiting for her to ask.
“Well,” he said, stepping a little closer, “good to know my teaching skills weren’t completely wasted.”
The moment her hand slipped into his, Ryder gently guided her toward the dance floor, naturally pulling her closer once they stopped beneath the lights.
One hand rested at her waist while the other held hers carefully, thumb brushing lightly against her knuckles as the music played around them.
The wind blew against them , "You know what?I think this is the first ball I’ve actually wanted to be at.”
Then the corner of his mouth lifted again.
“Though that might have something to do with my date looking unfairly pretty tonight.”
Say whatever you want about me. Just don’t touch what’s mine.

Hayato Ichiyagi
fit in the board below :outfit have perm mentioning the interaction sorry for the late reply;; :ooc notes |
Hogwarts, a school he had heard about a long time ago. Historically famous. Well known for its many famous wizards and witches. The young Ichiyagi had traveled to the UK several times in his life, yet he hadn't stepped into the ancient school before. Hayato didn’t attend the autumn ball last year due to his busy schedule.
Hayato’s first international event. Wonderland Waltz. The alliteration was quite intriguing as a school event. He was used to these kinds of occasions; it wasn’t really a heavy task for him. He just needed to act polite and enjoy the time. Except this time, he had a companion, Livia Machavariani, the heiress of the Machavariani. Their families had a collaborative relationship. The young boy didn’t exactly know the intention of this move, yet maybe he shouldn’t overthink it, just making friends.
Waiting for the girl outside in the dungeons, Hayato stood still, yet his eyes were quietly observing the students walking past him, mostly wearing fancy suits and ball gowns with exaggerated accessories. The theme of this spring ball was some sort of Muggle story, outside his realm of knowledge. Yet he supposed it was a colorful, campy story of sorts. Glancing at his outfit for this day, he then walked to a suit of silver armor, using its reflection to fix his hair with his hands. They were calloused from the training of archery yet well-kept and clean. Soon, he was back into the same posture of waiting.
He wore an extravagant black suit with a coat, paired with pearl necklaces and diamond earrings. The young boy had sprayed the adequate amount of perfume; the notes were osmanthus and tea. It reminded him of spring. The outfit wasn’t exactly his idea, but more like his mother’s suggestion combined with his compromise. He had indeed enjoyed the coordination process with Livia. Within the correspondence, she always kept impeccable penmanship and a flawless manner. The young Ichiyagi wondered what Livia would be like. The door of the Slytherin common room had opened.
Then, it was her entrance. His attention focused on his company, the daughter of the Machavariani; the emerald eyes of hers matched her outfit perfectly. “Miss Machavariani, you look amazingly beautiful tonight.” The corners of his lips curved upward. The hesitation of Livia was fleeting, yet he registered the slight motion. Contrary to his Japanese complexion, he spoke in a perfect British accent. This was years of work by private tutors and the foreign travel experiences.
He offered his arm to her with a gentle smile. “Shall we?”
Entering the locale of the spring ball, he didn’t see Sakura at the venue, wondering where she had been, but he didn’t think that much about his annoyance. (@Sakura Hirano) A butterfly flew by in front of him. It wasn’t the usual ones that he would see in Japan. He examined the room with his chestnut-brown eyes; it was well-organized, as a ball of students held. The courtyard was rather crowded.
He noticed Livia’s remark about the marble gazebo, and he replied, “That is truly quite impressive to see. Especially the gazebo.” Hayato pondered for a moment when Livia inquired, and he answered, “Would you like to have something first?” His appetite was always quite good, but he wouldn’t eat and drink too much in a formal event, especially with lovely company.
However, they couldn’t go near the banquet tables. As soon as the cracking sound emerged, he looked up. It was rather his intuition. He shot his glance to the chandeliers hung on them. Everything happened too fast, loud and low boom, shattering glass. Tinnitus lingered in his head for a couple seconds. Fire broke out in front of him, licking the grass near the entrance. He squinted his eyes because of the sudden smoke. After a moment, scanning the current situation, the flames everywhere were hazardous with so many young students—yet, they were all wizards and witches. Countless charms had been shooting out from the wands to the fire; there were even ones that made the grand entrance by riding brooms into the scene of the fire. (@Frederick Buckley and @Cecilia Merrick) The students were so crazy here. He slightly widened his eyes watching the scene.
A girl had fainted. Hayato wanted to step forward to help, but Livia had moved faster than him. She cast a spell that was out of their year so much. He looked at her with an impressive gaze and silently stood by her side. Carefully checking there weren’t other perilous factors near the two of them, he asked, “Are you alright, Miss Machavariani?”

𝓞nce again, Leo found himself in the midst of preparations for his next school ball. Leo had been excited for tonight after hearing how much work Rosaline was putting into helping plan it after she had gotten onto the committee. The theme itself was rather interesting too. Wonderland, something that was from a muggle story, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ he recalled Rosa mentioning was the name as she explained the theme to him prior to tonight. Despite her explanation of the theme, he went with a more spring aesthetic for his outfit for the evening. After sending an owl to his mother with the theme and what he was hoping for, she sent him the perfect outfit to wear. He buttoned up the white dress shirt and pulled on the light tan suit pants before pulling on the matching suit vest and jacket, leaving the latter two unbuttoned as he attempted to tie the light purple tie. He had specifically asked for the tie when writing to his mother after getting a preview of Rosa’s dress for the evening. A light blush on his face appearing at the thought of his little attempt at matching with the Gryffindor girl with the light purple color and flowers swirling subtly matching her dress. With his tie done, he buttoned up the vest and jacket, neatly patting down his jacket and pants to make sure everything was in place and looked good. He brushed his hair, putting a little hair product in to slick his hair back so he didn’t have any hair in his face, a much different look compared to his usual of just letting his bangs fall down over his eyes. A last touch, he sprayed a little of the cologne his brother had gifted him for his birthday, the first time he decided to actually try it out. The cologne itself seemed like the perfect match for the occasion as it had notes of lavender, vanilla and spices giving it a spicy and sweet scent and were also some of his favorite scents.
Feeling sufficiently ready, Leo checked the time and realized it was time to meet Rosaline. This time she would be waiting for him outside the Ravenclaw common room so he didn’t want to make her wait long. He said goodbye to Persephone and gave her a small kiss on the head before walking out of the dorm and making his way out of the common room. Sure enough, there was Rosa waiting for him already. He quickly apologized as the door closed behind him. “I hope you didn’t wait long.” After he spoke she greeted him and gave him a playful compliment before spinning around and asking how he liked her dress. The purple tulle flowed in the air as she spun and Rosaline herself looked effortlessly beautiful all dressed up for the evening. “You look very pretty.” He said with a shy smile and nodded in agreement as the two left to go meet their group of friends. Walking so closely to her he could smell what he assumed to be perfume, a refreshingly sweet scent filling his nose. He couldn’t help but to make a comment, “Are you wearing perfume? It smells really good.” Leo knew his face was heating up already which meant his eyes were most likely going to change colors before they could even reach the entrance but he tried to keep his composure, something that seemed to be harder and harder the more time he spent with her.
As they walked up to the area where the ball was being held, Leo looked in amazement at the beautiful scenery they had managed to pull off. “Wow, everything looks great, Rosa!” Leo said, smiling at her before turning back to look around at the decorations. He followed Rosaline as they made their way over to where Verity and Milica were standing, along with his favorite pest, Erast. Leo smiled and nodded politely at the others as he greeted them back, “Good to see you Verity. Milica it’s been a while.” He noted before glancing at Erast, giving him a side eye before greeting him. “Hello, Erast.” Why did he have to join them? It certainly wasn’t by his choice but nevertheless he went with what the group wanted to do.
Not long after the group managed to gather there at the entrance, Leo heard chaos erupt around the ball. Glancing in from outside the entrance he could see the chandeliers crashed to the ground and things were escalating quickly as fires broke out around the entire area, including by the entrance where they were standing. “What the heck is going on? Can’t we get inside first before chaos starts?” He jokingly asked while surveying the scene. As the others pulled out their wands, Leo was quick to follow suit, aiming his wand at the fire near them to cast the spell, “Extinguo!” In the midst of the chaos Fred joined them and Leo gave him a friendly smile. “Glad you didn’t miss all the fun, Fred.” He joked despite the very serious situation unfolding in front of them.

Skylar grimaces as the roaring fire burns in front of her, the flames consuming the black clubs table and licking up the sides. She readies herself to cast Extinguo again at the bright flames, when suddenly she hears a voice call out right next to her.
"You'll want to stay out of the way for this one, Aqua Eructo!"
Skylar watches in wonder as water sprouts from the tip of the person's wand. It must be a spell taught in later years, because Skylar has not yet seen one quite like it. Looking to her side, her eyes widen at the sight of a student who is definitely much older than her. She remembers the girl (@Aly Salinger) from the pageant and has seen her around the castle sometimes. Skylar stares at the older student in awe, surprised that the she would even interact with a first year like Skylar. Before she could thank the girl though, Skylar feels a sharp yank on her arm and was promptly dragged away. Looking ahead, Skylar was greeted by a very pissed looking Mikaela Hendricks.
"What were you thinking about!? You could've gotten yourself killed, did you think about it? No, of course you didn't, you-"
Skylar blinks as she stumbles after her friend, the Ravenclaw uncharacteristically angry. She has never seen her best friend this mad before, and she also never knew how strong Mika could be when needed. Like now. Skylar grimaces as she feels Mika's fingers dig into her forearm, dragging her away from the fire to... another fire.
"Extinguo!" Mika casts, not even sparing a glance at the fire. If anything, she almost seemed annoyed by its presence. Skylar was about to applaud her friend for her confidence, but Mika just rounded on her again. Oh, right. Her friend is still mad at her.
"You're reckless, I know you're a Gryffindor and all, but seriously, woman, are you trying to kill me!? Do you have any idea what could've happened?" Skylar blinks at the irate Ravenclaw. She does not have the heart to tell her friend that she quite literally just did the exact same thing. So keeping her mouth shut, Skylar stand there awkwardly as Mika continues to scold her.
After her friend seemed to have calmed down a bit, Skylar attempts to reassure her. "Alright, maybe it was slightly reckless to run into the fire like that, but we're in Hogwarts! There are plenty of students and staff around to help if something does happen."
Skylar links her arm with Mika's, offering her friend a bright smile. She notices how Mika still has a death grip on her pulse, but makes no comment on it. "Come on, let's see what else we can help with."

CHAPTER 3: PART 1
Paris was burning. No, the ball was burning. It was an extravagant mess.
Beneath the chandeliers, the panicked crowd and blooming fires, the shiny crystal gradually floated back where they were. Despite the prior hazardous motion, they looked oddly tamed and fixed, seemingly safe for now. Yet the color of their light had switched to a dimmer hue, illuminating between the twigs and fairy lights. It was the culprit of the mayhem sorted out, but what of the attendees below?
Amidst the chaos and flames, three unfortunate enjoyers of the sweet treats at the ball would experience a double-whammy of misfortune tonight! @Marietta Griffis, who dared to sample a creamy hot chocolate, and @Esther Meadows, and @Camille De Varrene, who went for a bite of the soft cakes, would find their next words and breath high-pitched. With a sudden shrinking sensation, their bodies would puff up into a feathery ball– Fluffy canaries! For a minute, they would be stuck chirping and hopping in their canary forms while the fires continued to roar, before popping right back into their original forms. Might need to keep the aftermath from shedding away from the fire…
@Joseph Sims, tugging @Eonaria Kabukimono away from an approaching fire, tried to take action. He reached for a pot of pumpkin soup, panickedly throwing it at the fire. Perhaps it was the adrenaline, or the smoke in his eyes, but the soup seemed to take flight, only to land in his shoes! At least the fire can’t reach their feet…?
For many of the Waltz’s attendees, the most efficient, magical solution was clear– “Extinguo!” was a unified echo from all around the courtyard. At the swings, @Cassie Jiang, @Mikaela Hendricks, @Angel Dayes, and @Paul Turner battled the flames climbing up the swings’ structure with the extinguishing charm. Together, they managed to successfully extinguish the fires on the swings! Even from beyond the ball’s vicinity at the entrance, the attendees there gave it their all to put out the spreading fire. @Ophelia Vanderbilt, @Mikey Forville, the recently-recovered Esther Meadows, @Verity Engels, @Hikari Fujimoto, @Frederick Buckley, @Erast Yan and @Leo Noxley each casted Extinguo at a nearby fire, successfully putting those out before any flammable attire became victim to the flames. That’s a close one!
At the tables, the frenzy to put out the fire was clear. At the Black Clubs table, @Skylar Blue ran over and casted a successful Extinguo at her targeted area. @Marina Alacrán threw her glass of lemonade at the fire, serving to make it wobble for a split second before pouncing closer to her. At the Red Hearts table, three students fished out their wands. @Dido Bleaklane, ever creative, chucked her glass at the blaze and cast Quarzicum at the glass shards. Unfortunately, the sand from her successful spell did not do much to quell the fire. @Cinder Blaze and @Jada Blake both casted an effective Extinguo, successfully reclaiming the table from the fire’s grasp.
At the flaming gazebo, @Eun-ji Lee Hunt had noticed the fainting girl, @Hazel Nelson. Eun-ji and @Ye-jun Lee, who both reached out to help her, but there was someone ahead of them. Eun-ji cast Extinguo on the fire near Hazel, and Ye-jun was ready to carry the poor girl out of the fire scene. Surprisingly, a first-year Slytherin, @Livia Machavariani, had stayed one jump ahead of them. She whipped out her wand and cast the Levitation on the girl. The advanced levitation spell had worked greatly; Hazel floated and was carried to a safer spot on the ground. On the other side of the gazebo, the greedy orange flame was licking the wisteria; it was as if the never-ending nightmare, fire, kept climbing up. The brave students who had pulled out their wands were @Julia Evans, @Maximilianus Kenneally Vidler, and @Axel Brooks. Julia and Max successfully cast Extinguo, yet unfortunately, Axel failed. In the meantime, @Dealla Prince cast Pluvia Velo, and she succeeded. Like wise, @Esme Hestridge , who forecast the drenching possibility, cast an impeccable Pluvia Velo. The two of them were fully prepared for the incoming down pouring thunderstorm.
Out in all the shouting of "Extinguo," there was one spell particularly different from others. @Aly Salinger, the contender of Spring Royalty, who had amazed the crowd by her Animagus performance with Dealla Prince, cast Aqua Eructo. The spell was incredibly successful; a powerful jet came out from her wand and instantly extinguished the fire she targeted.
Surrounded by flames closing in and left alone, @Aamon Athanatos conceived an ambitious plan to extinguish the flames– “Meteolojinx.” As soon as the incantation left his lips, thunder roared in reply above the Courtyard, grey clouds enveloping the venue in an instant. The downpour that soon followed began to fall on the flames, pressing them closer to the ground. However it would’ve been insufficient due to the fire’s wide reach… if it weren’t for @Colin McCoire. Colin, emboldened by Aamon, charges to join in the daring act. "Caelum muto!" Leveraging Aamon’s effective spell-casting, Colin’s spell successfully warped the thunderstorm, turning moderate rainfall into a heavy downpour. Pelting down on the flames, the stronger intensity of the rain slammed the fire’s resistance out of it, quelling the hissing flames into lingering wisps of smoke.
It would’ve been a great time for celebration, if it weren’t for one problem… The near-torrential downpour on the open-air location. Would someone make the sky clear again? With everyone soaking wet, and no end to the storm in sight, how will the ball go on now?!
