The bell chimed as Chatt strode in. As Chatt probably realized, the crowdness kept lessening and lessening each store. This time, at the wand shop—there was noone, for some reason. Like it's naturally empty just for you. Hm.. How strange.
By entering, Chatt observes numerous shelves of Wand-shaped boxes. Floor to Bottom. Goodness.. Long hallways surrounded by wands. And more wands. Hallways that lead to somewhere one might find quite concerning.
Store owner..? He asked himself. He just stayed near the door. It'd be stupid to go down the halls... What is this? A horror movie? He thought.
He waited, and waited. His foot tapped lightly against the flooring.
He fiddled with the parchment of paper. Looking down, he read the list.
.
A wand was the only required supply left. He looked down, reading his list carefully.
"Greetings, young child! Might you be here in pursuit of a wand, perhaps?"
.
.
.
His heart sank. He flinched and looked frantically for the voice.
Came in view an old man, hair graying than it ever would.
Chatt let out a frightful breath out. Like that breath also needed a breather.
"Uhm Yes—a wand. Yes." Goodness—is this man trying to make me die first than him? Chatt kept that to himself.
The man hummed..inspecting Chatt carefully. Chatt raised a brow. I mean, who wouldn't find it concerning when an old man is looking you up and down?
"Very well."
"You seem like a lively child." He moved whilst looking around.
"How about—" he says, walking towards to one of the halls, and picking out a box.
Chatt went closer to him. He shouldn't make this troublesome for the man at most..
The man opened the box, inside, a wand, neatly packed inside. Chatt took it carefully.
He tried to hold it out comfortably, twirling it, touching each detail of wood.
"Go on. Give it a swish!"
"Just ah..just swish?" He said as he made a circular motion with the wand. Suddenly, the wand flew out of his hand backwards, hitting him in the stomach. "AGH—" Chatt clutched his abdomen, and crouched slightly down. As so, he accidently exhaled a huge amount of dust. He'd cough.
"Oh dear—do you need—"
Chatt Immediately held out a hand to stop him. "It's fine." Chatt wheezed.
"Ahhh..." The old man crouched down, picking up the fallen wand. "Yes—certainly not." He gently placed back into the box.
"Ah! How about—"
He quickly picked up another. This one coming from a bottom shelf.
Chatt was still holding his stomach, puffing out every last bit of dust inside his mouth.
The old man held out the box once more. "Shall we try this one?" Chatt picked it up carefully. This time, positioning it away from his gut. He'd give it a swish.
Chatt was instantly prepared for any rogue wand behaviour. By the time—it lifted itself up banging on the ceiling. The man took out his wand almost instantly and placed it back to its original box.
He'd look around once more.
This is taking out my energy lowkey.. He contemplated when would this be over.
The man finally decided to choose the box from the very top shelf, using his wand to bring it down. "Perhaps—this would do?" Chatt looked at him properly. How many times does this guy— he stopped his thought. As the box was opened, inside was an intricate wand. "25,5 cm long. Made with Walnut Wood and a Snallygaster heartstring." "Snallygaster? Is that not American?" Chatt asked carefully. "My you know your wands well child. I daresay, this could be very well a splendid match!" Chatt picked it up. He gave himself time to get the wand feel comfortable in his grip.
He gave it a stable swish.
.
.
The wand glowed by the tip, truly brightening—but also mesmerizing. "Very interesting indeed!" The man nodded slightly. "Well, you see—this wand is rather finicky when it comes to choosing its rightful owner, if I may say so indeed." The man picked up the wand from Chatts hand, and carefully observed it. "It has quite the penchant for those exceptionally bright wizards, who may...possess a keen intellect and a thirst for knowledge! One might say it seeks out the cleverest of minds." The man chuckled. "I could have never expected this wand would be in your capable hands."
Chatt just stared. He did understand, but again. his energy is drained too much.
The man gave it back to Chatt, settling it in his palms.
"Could I..uhm try?"
"Try it for yourself."
.
.
.
Here goes.
"Ava—"
.
.
.
"Goodness! What spell are you trying to conjure!"
"Uh basic spell." He'd continue. "Ava—!"
"STOP!" The man shouted. Chatt looks confused. "IT'S B! BUH! BUHH!"
"Buh. Buh." Chatt repeated. "Ahh. Okay. Buh."
"Abracadabra!" Oh. Nothing happened. Well alteast he has a wand now.
