Ross was not one for risks. He was far from it in fact, so it was surprising how he managed to get in so many strange positions that only people who took risks would get into. The answer to that of course were reckless decisions instead. When one was to say they took a risk, most people would be proud or astonished; however, when being scolded Ross would often be told he made a reckless choice. A reckless choice was really just a negative word for a risk from what Ross could tell, so he often tried to avoid it. Sadly, it was hard to avoid the choices that one impulsively made on a day to day basis.

So Ross was bored, and what humans did when they were bored was to try to attempt something new. Ross normally sat in the middle of the class where he would not be too noticeable either way. It was usually the perfect spot; however, today was not normal. Today he had decided to go to the back of the class, as he was a bit later than he regularly was. The option was the back or the front at the time, and Ross knew well the back was better than the front at times. Now here he was, sitting in the back and hardly being able to understand what the teacher said; however, based on the notes on the board he could understand the basics of what it meant. He had read over it in that little book of Knox's a million times, and yet somehow he was bored.

Ross loved charms classes. It was the only class he could truly pay attention in, so it was a surprise to himself more than likely anyone else that he could hardly pay attention in this one. Perhaps the homework could get his attention better, but this certainly was not going to work for him. He was desperate for a distraction.

He was desperate for something to do, but what?

The boy's eyes wondered around the room, until they landed right next to him.

The book.

Knox's book.

It looked enough like a notebook for it to pass, so Ross did what any cunning, bored child would do and that was to simply open it up. He flipped to a page until he found it: The Illegibility Charm. Of course. It was the one he was meaning to do next, and sure enough he had a written page right in front of him. Whipping out his wand from his pocket, he attempted to make it subtle. The movement to do it was rather simple after all, so it would not draw too much attention to him at least.

Grasping the wand handle, he attempted to stretch out his arm as much as possible without making it look blatant he was casting a spell. He pointed it directly at the book page for the invisibility charm, and prepared himself without considering how this could be one of the worst mistakes of his life.

"Illegibilus" he whispered, tapping it gently on the page.

Sure enough, the text disappeared with just a simple tap. Lucky for Ross, it did not have much of a 'magical' reaction like other spells. No sparks flew and there was no loud bang. Just a simple tap and it was all gone. Ross would have celebrated too, if the realization of what had just happened did not hit him like a pound of bricks.

He just made the reverse incantation page invisible too.

Anxiety filled Ross' veins as he realized he could not visibly panic without looking extremely suspicious. Thoughts began to run through his head. Would he ever be able to fix this page? Would he get in trouble for this somehow? What if he got forced to relearn the lesson because he was not paying attention? Did he just ruin a book that had been there for who knows how long? If Ross was not in a crowded classroom he would be fidgeting like if he were to stop moving it would kill him on the spot. Now, Ross was supposed to suppress his nerves. Any person who knew Ross well enough would probably claim he would be unable to do it, which Ross could not blame them for. Ross panicked at the tiniest things, and it was nearly impossible to get him under control. If anything, the nerves normally got him into more trouble.

This would be a challenge at least mentally for Ross, now how did that spell go? He needed to fix that notebook, now. Well, no he did not but he felt like he had to. He needed to get it done as soon as possible at least was his belief, or else he may forget and then when would it go? No no, what if the answer was to wait until after class? Then he could not get in trouble, but then again what if he forgot? There were so many things that could go wrong in his little head that he hardly could hear the word around him anymore. Ross gently put the wand down on top of the open book, then began to fiddle with his ring as it was the least noticeable option he had.

He had to wait for the sake of not getting 'in trouble' or whatever his mind told him.

So that was what Ross did. He waited until the wonderful announcement of homework was announced once more, and then he jumped directly into action. As the kids filed out of the classroom and chatter began to fill the air once more, he found himself darting up so fast he nearly needed to sit back down again. Then again, to Ross there was no time for that. No, there was no time for that at all. Now what was the incantation again? Rollio? Rambio? Appeario? Revelio? It had to either be Revelio or Appeario, as they simply sounded the most familiar.

The Hufflepuff scrambled to the other side of the desk he sat in so he would have more room. As questionable as it was, he wanted to get this done. Now, what was the movement? Ross picked up the wand from the book once more, and attempted his best to think. What was associated with seeing again? Eyes. Perhaps it looked like an eye? Yes yes, that made sense. He had practically memorized the book, and it seemed the most familiar, so he did his best attempt at it.

Aiming the wand towards the vanished page, he began the movement. Starting from the far left, he made a long arc to the right until it arrived at a location right across from the left starting point. It was like the top of the eye, he assumed. next up he made a lower arc towards the right, but stopped halfway through. He curled it upwards, making a circle towards the left until he stopped about three fourths of the way there.

"Appeario!" the boy exclaimed.

He waited for the effects, but much to his dismay nothing seemed to take place. If anything, he probably just looked rather silly. There was no time to think of this though, as for some reason Ross felt like he was in a rush. It felt like he had to get it done quickly, or else it would all fall down around him.

Taking a deep, shaky breath in he readjusted his wand so it was in a more natural position. From there, he repeated the motion he put far too much effort into to believe it was a false one.

"Revelio!" he exclaimed, his voice having confusion within it that made it clear he was not entirely sure if it was right.

Still, the confidence seemed to work enough, as soon the paper began to show more and more handwriting.

It was back.

Ross let out an almost cartoonish sigh of relief. The book was fine, so so was he. It was a law of life he had adapted awhile back, yet it still mattered dearly to him that the book was fine. At least now he could go on with his day without worry

After reading through both threads, Ross Stephens has accurately cast both Illegibilus and Revelio and can add them to his trunk.
