General The Hufflepuff Table 2019-2020

Kaylie smiled shyly at the Hufflepuffs that had already been previously sorted and the older years. Kaylie sighed as she sat down at the end of the table. She was extremely nervous to be there and just couldn't believe she was actually here. She was thinking about what classes she would have to take and if they were exciting. It would be an interesting experience learning at this school. Kaylie looked at her empty goblet and poured herself some tea as it always helped her calm down. Kaylie looked down at the table and saw that people were already talking with one another. She was alone. Again.

As she looked around at the rest of the table there were empty plates and she hoped they would have all sorts of cakes and sweets. Especially her favorite dessert, Gugelhupf. Kaylie picked her plate up and politely walked over and served herself some of the food. Kaylie put a few slices of roast beef and mashed potatoes. Kaylie shyly walked back to her seat at the end of the table and started eating. Putting her napkin in her lap first as to not ruin her dress. Kaylie slowly ate as she always did. Always so polite and proper. Kaylie was hoping she'd have enough courage to maybe talk to someone and maybe even make some friends.

Sorry for the late post

Phoenix’s heart has been racing the entire day from excitement and nervousness. This was a fresh feeling for her. She never saw so many students in one room. Her vision blurred for a second as all the Hufflepuff students mashed together. The long brown table looked even bigger with students occupying the seats. The Hufflepuff students chatter away. Deciding to grab food before choosing where to sit. She tried her best putting the food on her plate without spilling or dropping it.

Phoenix walked along the table, holding onto the plate as tightly as she could. She paid importance to her steps. The last thing Phoenix wanted is to drop her food and fall in front of everybody. She would die from embarrassment if that happened. Her eyes scanned the table as she walked along it, looking for a place to sit. At the end of the table it was empty. Only one girl was sitting there alone and eating. Phoenix walked around the table to the other side and sat diagonally across from her. Gently placing her plate down. Phoenix looked up at the girl, debating whether she should talk to her. Worries crossed through her brain, but Phoenix promised herself she would not hold herself back. After three minutes passed by, Phoenix decided to say quiet and she continued eating her food in silence.

With peace and love.

She had made it into a wizarding school, she still couldn't believe it. Sure her mother was a pureblood witch and being halfblood, she had the powers as well. But she also loved it back in the muggle world. All her friends back home were muggles. Addison did had a hard time deciding if she would come here or not. Her parents have been kind enough to let her decide between the muggle school or Hogwarts. Because her magic was out of control, she decided to come here. To learn how to control her magic, before going back to the muggle world and live among them.

The double doors were open, so she just walked inside the great hall. The sun was shining through the sealing and the candles were out. The four tables were clean and it looked like there weren't much students around at this point. Her guess was that they were all outside enjoying the good weather. Addison decided to go towards the Hufflepuff table and walked towards a group of Hufflepuffs talking to one another. ''Hey'' she said ''Euhm... would you mind if I sit a bit with you guys?'' she asked nervously. She didn't know any student yet, but would love to find at least one friend inside this enormous castle.

Kaylie looked up to see a girl who looked about as nervous but excited as she did. She walked around the table to the other side and sat diagonally across from her. The girl was carefully placing her plate down at the table. She looked up at her. Kalie looked away immediately her face starting to feel hot as she blushed profusely. Kaylie was trying to decide whether or not she should talk to this new girl. After a few minutes Kaylie started eating again looking up at the girl every now and then. Kaylie was worried that if she talked to her she would walk away and find a new seat. Kaylie opened her mouth to say something but no words came out. She probably looked pretty ridiculous just sitting there with her mouth gaping wide open. Kaylie quickly shut her mouth and went back to eating. She still continued to look up every now and then. Kaylie was worried. This girl seemed nice enough. Kaylie decided to break the silence between them "H-Hello. My n-name is Kaylie. What's yous? Kaylie stuttered a little bit and started blushing again. Plenty of thought crossed throughout her brain. She was hoping the girl would be nice to her. But you could never be to sure.

Phoenix ate her food quietly and stared at food. Every now or then she would look at the girl. Noticing the girl diagonally from her, would open her mouth as if she would say something. The girl looked friendly, yet she intimidated Phoenix. Phoenix wished she had the guts to say something first, but she did not. She hoped the girl would say hello first instead. Maybe everybody is nervous talking to someone new. Feeling nervous on a big day like this is normal and valid. Phoenix did not understand why she was beyond worried. It was a simple thing. It would hurt nobody to try. Maybe she will make a friend? A friend would be nice. Every time, she tried to comfort herself; her worries come back. What if she was bothering the girl? What if the girl did not like Phoenix? The list goes on and on. Her mind went like this, back and forth until she heard the girl's voice.

Phoenix lifts her head up to look at the girl. The girl was introducing herself. She was nice and seemed nervous. Phoenix gave a slight smile at her. Feeling a bit of confidence grow, "Hi Kaylie, I am P-Phoenix. Lovely meeting you."

"Hi Kaylie, I am P-Phoenix. Lovely meeting you." The girl said. Phoenix! That was her name. All of Kaylie's thoughts and worries went away. "I was really nervous when I was sorted into Hufflepuff, and I thought I wouldn't fit in or make friends. 'Til I met you of course. How are you? What are your thoughts about Hufflepuff. Honestly I really like Hufflepuff. It's pretty cool. We don't go for fame we mostly go to just be strong and encouraged to do what's right. I like your name a lot. It's fantastic actually. My friends call me K Love. I'm a dancer. I do ballet. Do you do any extracurriculars or anything like that. I honestly love dancing. Kaylie continued to blabber on about her personl life and then realized that she should let Phoenix talk to. Kaylie looked down at her plate. Her face felt hot. She thought she would pass out from exasperation. "I'm sorry. I talk an awful lot. That's the only reason some people find me quite annoying or a bit of a bother. Kaylie looked up at Phoenix. Then regained her smile forcing herself to look happy even though she was disappointed in herself. "Your turn" Kaylie said through her forced smile.

Phoenix relaxed her posture. She listened and nodded as her new friend talked. Phoenix was interested in what Kaylie had to say. She seemed interesting. Phoenix felt the same. She felt that she would not make any friends at Hogwarts or get ignored. Perhaps not fit in. As she went through that the school she attended before. Now it is different. This is a new chapter in her life. Phoenix realize that won't be the case.

Kaylie faced turned red, Phoenix found it silly but cute. "Kaylie, I think you are not a bother or annoying. I enjoy listening to you. My thoughts on Hufflepuff? I love it! I think I will have a good time for the next seven years! Well, I hope so. Thank you. Phoenix is a bit of a basic name, but I like it! I like your name too. It is cute," Phoenix smiled. "One day, you have to show me your dances! I bet you are amazing at dance! Extracurriculars? Hm, I am not an athletic person. I would like to learn Quidditch, just for fun. I do not think I will ever play for the house." Phoenix was glad that she met Kaylie.

As he had been doing for the past twenty-four hours, Clifton continued to pretend like he knew at least half of what was going on. It didn't help that in all the sorting he'd been separated from the friends he made on the train. Some of them weren't even in the same house as him and he hoped he'd be able to find them again with so many kids.

In the meantime, the food was awesome. Maybe the fact that it had appeared out of nowhere made it taste all the better, but it wasn't long before he was starting on thirds.

From the conversations around him, he gathered that Hufflepuff meant you were loyal and nice. He guessed that sounded right, but he half wondered if the talking hat had only gotten all that from the designer shampoo his mom had always insisted on buying. It was hard to come off as "brave" or "cunning" or even "intelligent" smelling like vanilla milk and papaya.

Clifton hadn't initially intended to barge into the conversation of to the two girls sitting across from him, but knocking over his glass and spilling punch all over the tablecloth sort of made it inevitable.

"Uh, sorry," he said, finding anything he could to mop it up before it reached their plates.

What was wrong with him today? He'd already almost missed the train. Then crashed the snack trolley on the way over. He was lucky to not have fallen out of one of the boats. If any of this kept up, he probably needed a magic wand like he needed a loaded dynamite.

Alexa sat down timidly between two taller students who are beckoning to her, and making space for her on the bench at the Hufflepuff table In the magnificent Great Hall of Hogwarts. Staring at her plate before her, she looked up and down the table at the massive amounts of food piled there. Different kinds of meats, gravy, vegetables, pastries, and more covered the entire table. She reached out and selected a drumstick from a whole roast chicken in front of her.

Surrounded by people, but feeling rather alone, Alexa looked up and down the table again after she had loaded her plate with food and began eating. Was there anyone here she knew? Was there anyone from their compartment on the Hogwarts Express?

She watched with a hint of sadness as Clay was sorted into Gryffindor. She will fit in well there, Alexa thought, but she already ached, missing her new friend. Then it was Clifton’s turn to be sorted. She opened her mouth in a wide smile when the hat called out “Hufflepuff!” She watched as he sat down at the table, and eventually spilled a glass of punch all over the tablecloth. Smiling slightly, she stood up and, carrying her plate with her, went and stood behind him. She tapped him on the shoulder. “Hi, Clifton! Would it be okay if I sat next to you?” She hoped he would say yes: he was the only person she knew here!

“Yeah!” he scooted himself over on the bench so she could have room where there was at least a little less punch spill.

Clifton was relieved to see the familiar bright red hair and kind smile of his friend. And embarrassed that--once again--she caught him in the middle of a blunder.

He'd been a little more clumsy the past couple months. Knocking his head on things, tripping over his own feet and the like. Because of “growing pains” as his dad liked to call it. But he’d never been this bad. If so, he would’ve never cleared the football team. As in, the soccer team.

The football team. He wondered how they’d be doing this year. He wondered if they’d win the season while he was over here waving his magic stick around and constantly tugging on robes he was supposed to be growing into. It gave him a small pang of sadness. But then who else got to be at a place like this? Where the food was as endless as the weird ceiling? Besides, his other friends, Alexa included, seemed pretty happy to be here. He was sure it would grow on him too.

Wanting to distract himself from thoughts of home, he grabbed something drizzled in frosting and turned to his friend.

“So I guess Clay’s in a different house?” he frowned through a mouthful of pastry. Then remembered his manners and swallowed. “Hope we can find her. Do you think they’ll always make us sit at our house table?”
