This is not the nap I was looking for

Backdate: Sunday 15 February
The first thing Alina could tell when she woke up was that she was in a different place. It was far more comfortable than hitting the piste. Fear took hold of her almost immediately. Where was she? She craned her neck, wincing a little as a sore pain shot down the side of her neck.

Her head was pounding, and it took some effort to force her eyes open. The last thing she remembered was the crackle of electricity, the smell of burning hair, and then nothing. She remembered nothing between the fall… and now.

Then it clicked. Hospital wing. Shit… she had really hoped going into that last round that she wouldn’t end up here. Her eyes slowly slid from bed to bed through the room. How poetic that it was her first time visiting the hospital wing. And for the record, when she had referenced wanting to take a nap earlier, this hadn’t exactly been the idea. There was something so unequivocally jarring about being in one place, and waking up somewhere else. Waking up… not walking. No, someone had brought her here… at the end of the match because they had been in the last round.

She was sore, but it seemed like all of the injuries she could remember were gone… which was good. And a second thought hit her… she hadn’t ever visited Aislin in the hospital wing. At least hopefully that meant that the other girl’s stay had been brief and her recovery easy. Alina still had a small lingering bit of guilt.

But turning around is fair play she supposed as she gazed up at the ceiling. It wasn't like she hadn't expected to get hurt. Last duel she had, but Costanza had helped her out... this time it was different.

It wasn’t even the pain that she remembered, it was the fury of having made it through the round still standing, only to be hit at the last second bolt of lightning. She had been hit by that dang lightning in both matches she played. It was infuriating. She needed to figure out that counterspell. Or... whatever it is--- she'd need to figure it out when she was more awake and up for it.
