Sorting hat

When Anne entered the Great Hall for her sorting, she was stunned by all the people. The Great Hall was huge and what she supposed was the whole school, was sitting there. She walked up to front with a group of other first year students.

When one of the teachers got out a weird talking hat, she was stunned. Then, it started talking by itself. Weirdly some other students seemed to think it was normal.

Names started being called. Finally they called "Brown, Anne" and she walked up to the hat. She was super nervous as the whole school was watching. She put on the hat waiting for it to decide. Then, it called out: GRYFFINDOR! The whole table started cheering and she went forward to sit down. She felt relieved she did not get chosen to go to Slytherin. Anne had overheard very bad rumors about them on the Hogwarts Express.

Anne looked around the table, but could not find anyone who she recognized. She wondered who she could talk to, since so far she had no friends. Everyone was paying their attention to the sorting or otherwise talking to each other. Anne waited to see if anyone would talk to her although she was pretty lost and didn't know what to do.
