A Soul to Rely On

I was walking alone again. I walked the Viaduct looking at the feet on the groups of girls in front of me. Arm in arm, shoulder to shoulder. I wish I had a friend like that. The only thing in my arm was my bag full of books. Well, you don’t always get what you want I suppose. My eyes turned to the view, the lovely lake under the river. It’s was beautiful here by the lake. Especially on a sunny day like today. The lake shone sapphire blue. I fidgeted with the end of my long bow. Then, I saw her, the girl with tanned skin and long dark hair. Pretending to think the day was great but I also saw it. The group of girls in front of her and her trailing behind. I stole a look at her and noticed I was staring. I quickly looked back at the mountains. Oh how pretty they were today. I felt like I was being watched, so I turned my head back around suspiciously. I looked around, welp I guess it was just paranoia. I walked over to the girl, hoping she didn’t think I was weird. “Hi! I’m Tina, Tina Carille. This is quite random but how’s your day?” I asked sweetly. I shifted the weight of my bag, hoping she would answer me.

It was a bright and sunny day, but It wasn't hot, it was quite pleasant. I could feel a cold breeze upon my face. If you ask me, it was perfect weather to be on the viaduct, overlooking Majestic mountains and the rushing river beneath. Just looking at it brought my mind to peace. What would make this moment perfect was a friend to share it with.
I looked at a group of girls in front of me longingly. They were talking and giggling, walking together, side by side. I wish I had someone to talk to, to share wonderful moments with, to laugh endlessly with.
I started pacing across the viaduct, trailing behind the group slowly. I didn't know them, but just standing closer to a group made me feel a little better. But the sting of loneliness within me never left.
I felt someone looking at me, I turned around and saw a Ravenclaw girl, her brown eyes looking golden in the sun, as she faced the serene view. I wasn't sure if she was the one looking at me. I turned away and decided to take in the view in front of me too. It really was magical.
Suddenly, a voice behind me said, Hi! I’m Tina, Tina Carille. This is quite random but how’s your day?"
I turned around, it was the Ravenclaw girl I'd seen earlier. I replied, "Hi Tina, I'm Avery. It's nice to meet you. My day's going fine, just enjoying the view here. What about you? Shall we walk around together?"
I really hoped she'd say yes, this was a great chance to make a new friend.

Tina replied smiling brightly, "Sure, we should walk together." "That's Great", I said. She further added that she was taking in the beautiful view. I said, "It is quite serene, I could've never seen something like this at my home. I really love mountains, especially snow. It kinda looks like ice cream from here, and the river seems so cool and refreshing, not to mention glittery. I wish I could just dive in."
She further asked me, "You know I often wonder what would happen if I never was a witch. Did it surprise you when you found out?" I replied, "Well, I wasn't really surprised cause my mom's a witch, my dad's a muggle though. I haven't really thought much about not being a witch. I guess things would've been much different. I would've missed out on a whole world. And the wizarding world's quite exciting, everything's so different from the muggle world, I find the wizarding world quite unique and interesting. I probably wouldn't like being just a muggle, not aware of a wizarding world. Besides, I'd be missing out on this majestic view as well. What about you, what'd you think about the wizarding and muggle world? I suppose you're a muggle-born?"
She then asked me if I'd like to hang out with her. I was overjoyed, I'd really like to hang out with her, it would be so much fun. I replied beaming at her, "I'd love to hang out" I had noticed her charm bracelet, it was so pretty. It reminded me of the ones I'd make with my muggle friends back home. "I love your bracelet by the way. Is it hand-made?", I said.
While I awaited her reply, I noticed she was wearing a locket too, it reminded me of the locket I found in my house's attic. I still am not sure why it was there in first place. Anyways, I came back to the present, to my current conversation with a friend.
