…Are there female centaurs? That was super funny to Meredith because if there was not any females then there would not be anymore centaurs. " Well of course there are female centaurs because if there were not any then there would be no more centaurs left anymore so there most definitely female centaurs but why would of all the people I know which is very few ask that?"
Meredith then saw a book or merpeople and grabbed it really fast and sat back down and read the first chapter and put it back. " That was the worst first chapter of any book ever on merpeople." Then she saw the book of her dreams it was a book on nifflers. " LOOK AT THIS ALINA!!!!!" and she showed Alina the book and sat back down to read it from front to back, As s he read she saw it say," Nifflers are platapus-like creatures with a long snout similar to that of a platypus and a coat of fluffy fur that can be black, brown or white. Native to Britain, they lived in burrows as deep as twenty feet below ground, and females produced six to eight young in a single litter. A Niffler's pouch can hold numerous items, Nifflers have a pouch on their bellies which hold far more than at first seemed possible, like the effects of an Undetectable Extension Charm on a container." Meredith thought it was really cool on how many things they could carry like a koala or a kangaroo.

"Six to eight babies at one time," Alina focused on that part and shook her head at the thought of it. "And I thought it was bad my mother had to carry two." But she supposed it was normal for those sort of creatures that had multiples in one litter and she smiled, wondering if her own birth being a twin was like a litter - a small little litter.
"What really perplexes me are werewolves. If a female gets pregnant and is a werewolf, will her unborn baby turn into a werewolf young when she is turned? If she....you know, during her time as a werewolf, would it stay a werewolf?" And this is why Alina didn't share her passion for magical creatures the way her friend did. There were so many unknowns. So many odd things.
She herself glanced around the library wondering what books might interest her. She had an interest sparked the other day when whittling a small wooden badger to look up wandlore but really didn't find any books pertaining much to the subject itself.
"So if you could have a magical creature right now, which type of creature would you choose?" she asked her friend.

If she....you know, during her time as a werewolf, would it stay a werewolf? " Well I do not really know but I am completely sure a book around here knows the answer to your question for sure." Meredith wasn't really sure if that was true though maybe the baby was a werewolf forever. " Or maybe the baby gets killed I heard that werewolves like to kill the offspring every now and then I think."
So if you could have a magical creature right now, which type of creature would you choose?" Well I would like to have a niffler because they are so cute or I will befriend a centaur when we go to the forest or even maybe a thestral I do kind of like them just a bit. But what about hippogriffs I do love hippogriffs a whole lot so maybe that or a bowtruckle, you know the little stick like creatures that look kind of like a stick insect but green and hang out in trees that wands are made out of."

She actually did know of bowtruckles just because she had been researching wand-lore lately. It was a bit of a controversy, trying to forest trees for wands and assuring that they didn't harm the creatures that liked to live in and protect them.
"I want a pygmy puff I think that would be the only magical creature I could tolerate. And if I can't ever get a magical creature, I think I'd just get a cat. Cats seem more 'me' than a dog, you know? Quick-tempered, hot and cold, needy," she smiled. "I'm not naming very good qualities about myself, am I?"
But it was true. She was quick-tempered and needy and a lot of other qualities that she needed to change and she was working on it. She didn't even realize the improvements she was making. She glanced up to the clock and sighed. She had made a goal to try and write her father that evening and she hadn't even started yet so Alina took out some parchment and set out her ink well and quill from her bag whlie her friend looked over her book on magical creatures. "Do you think not telling someone something is lying?"

Ha a pygmy puff! Why something so small and boring but a cat she could understand. Meredith really liked cats. " So a pygmy puff, why something so small and super boring when there are so many other magical creatures and animals like I said a bowtruckle or a griffin I do really like griffins. Well I guess those are not very good thing to say about yourself I guess." Meredith said " I guess" too much and the worst thing was she said it at least twenty times a day and like one hundred forty times a week. Then a random thought popped into her head, " A book" " Hey Alina when we go into the Forest why don't we write a book about the place like informative book on what is out there and why they should never go into the Forest alone

"Yeah, we could attempt that. I'm not awful at writing," but she wasn't fabulous either.
Correction, she was awful at writing when it came to writing to her father. She looked down to her parchment, wrote the date in the corner, and then began.
Dear Father,
But then she hesitated again. What did she even say? She felt she had said everything she could possibly say about her classes and the school. She had said so much to him over their correspondence and yet she hadn't said the most important thing that needed to be said.
She looked down to her words again, just two words. Surely she could just stop writing to him but then he would grow angry and he'd ask Bella for details. She had already asked too much of Bella and that's why they were at odds.
"Maybe I'll get killed in the Forest and you can write about that. Dedicate the book to me, give me some sort of positive eulogy...even if only one paragraph...even if only a sentence," she sighed.
Death truly didn't seem so bad right now. She feared the end of the school term and going home for the summer holid@Meredith Ready

Meredith looked over at Alina's piece of parchment and said, " So what is that? Is it to your father? Why must you write to him right now? Can I see? Please? Why have you not wrote anything yet? If that is a letter where is the owl?" Meredith had to admit she was rather nosy." I am very nosy and I can get kind of annoying sometimes or all the time." Meredith then walked over to the self and put the niffler book back and saw a book on Griffins and she grabbed it, " It has the front legs, wings and head of a giant eagle, and the body, hind legs, and tail of a lion. The main diet of the Griffin is raw meat. Griffins are known as fierce creatures, however, despite this, skilled wizards and witches have been able to befriend them. Griffins are often used by wizards as guards of treasure, like Sphinxes." is what it said about griffins. Meredith read over it and handed the book to Alina so she could see it saying, " You should consider a griffin as a pet or something like that it says that when trained they can make rather good pets. I would like one when I get older or I could find one in the forest and name it fluffy."

"Eat raw meat...you could feed me to it," she suggested.
Alina didn't like to talk about her problems but with the school year progressing, she didn't really know what to do. Summer would be upon them and then what? "I was trying to write my father," she spoke quietly and looked down to the parchment. "He...still doesn't know I'm in Hufflepuff. I've avoided it and I told my sister Bella not to say anything on it and she's mad at me because I'm making her lie. I mean, I didn't tell her to lie but in not saying so she feels its lying and she's mad at me. We wave now and again but haven't had a close conversation really since school began."
And that bothered her a lot.
"I just...I don't know what he's going to think...what he's going to do. Honestly? I don't know come the end of term and summer start if I'll have a home to go back to. We're the Rosiers of the Rosiers of The Sacred Twenty-Eight of pureblood families. My father was a Slytherin, his parents, their parents... and honestly, pureblood families have disowned children for less. I'm afraid for him to find out."

Those were words that Meredith understood because she hadn't told her father that she was in Slytherin because she might get in trouble if she told him she was in Slytherin or as her father called it the house of death and dark magic but Meredith called it the house that will lead her to greatness and glory or maybe not someone did call her a Hufflepuff in the wrong common room even though she was wearing the Slytherin colours and they still said it. " Well I think you should tell him that you don't need his opinion and that you made it in to a great house and that it is Hufflepuff because Hufflepuff is a great house to be in and you are very lucky to have made it there." Meredith said those last words with encouraging force.

She sighed. She knew it was SAID that Hufflepuff was still a noble house but everyone in the school knew it was for the muggleborns and halfbloods and ones with no talent to be anywhere else.
"It's just....he's a rather strict man. He sets out a persona on how we are as a family and we are deemed to follow. My mum couldn't do that and he made her life a living hell until she ended it herself," she said quietly and looked around. She didn't want to talk personal anymore. It was too hard. It hurt too much.
Alina was now the one to get up from the table to grab a book. It didn't even matter what book for that matter. She snatched one up, without as much as looking at it, and brought it back to the table so she could look at it. She didn't want to talk anymore right yet either, for she knew her voice would quiver a little. Thinking of what her father and grandmother would think of her being placed into the Hufflepuff house was terrifying and she didn't want to think on it a moment longer. "So what else of Griffins?" she was finally able to ask.
