Paul came to the Duelling area slightly late, but that seemed not to matter. He saw they were not doing much yet. The students, none of whom he knew well, some of them, perhaps, from the common room, others from the lessons and around the castle, were standing by, some of them chatting, others picking the bands.
Hm, which team should I join? How about... hm... Ran through the boy's mind, as he wondered. "Liar bliar limber lock, three geese in a flock..." Did he start with a famous counting-out rhyme, hoping it would help him decide. His index finger flicked from one part of the field to the other. "One flew over the cuckoo's nest!" His index finger at the end pointed to team blue, which he checked. There was one boy and three girls. In the other team, however, there weren't any boys. Which was the reason, why he chose to join it.
"Hi. Red, please. Thanks." He came to an older student who gave him a red band. Then, he went to the half of the field which belonged to the reds.
He smiled with a small smile, rising his hand to wave at the girls. "Hey. I'll join your team, if you don't mind?" He waited for their reactions, if anyone would express their discontent, he'd... well, I'd go, join the other team. That's all that can be done here. Thought the boy.
"I'm Paul. Pleased to meet ya." Did he introduce himself leisurely.
He paused for a moment, shifting his weight from one foot to another, shading his eyes with a palm, as the sun was shining right into them. He was looking at the other team's base. It looked like their own. Good, the chances are the same.
Then, he turned back to his team, looking at Angel, who seemed as enthused as he was for this thing. But what would he do, offense or defense? He wasn't sure.
Paul, come on. We both know you're not patient. That's right! I wanna use my wand as much as I can! "Hm, I think I'd go for offense, if it's fine with all of you."

King of the Hill Duelling
After Cassie hits the dummy hard with the bludger, she feels delighted and confident. Following Ophelia, the Gryffindor girl she is doing the errand with, she heads to the King of the Hill Duelling activity.
As a simplified version of the true duelling games, the participants are split into two teams, with each student playing the role of offense or defense. Cassie has signed up for the Ravenclaw Duelling Team earlier this year, and has participated in an unofficial duelling game. Since she discovered that she could perform wandless magic earlier this year, Cassie has been really interested in duelling.
The red or the blue team? She is wondering when Ophelia suggests the blue team. 'Great idea! I'd like to join the blue team too.' Cassie replies. In fact, blue is not only Cassie's house colour but her favourite colour too. She hopes that her favourite colour can bring her luck.
Ophelia picks the defense team. Cassie goes through the spells she knows. There are more offensive ones than those for defending. 'I'll pick the offense team then!' she says cheerfully as she walks towards the blue team members. There are only a few vacancies now, so the game will probably start soon.
'Hi everyone! I'm Cassie Jiang, a third year Ravenclaw.' she introduces herself.

A common human trait is that when given responsibility, you feel nice. Nervous? Sometimes. Chances of fucking up? Extremely high. But you still appreciate the faith someone puts in you to get some work done. That is exactly how Violence had been feeling when she got selected as the dueling captain for Ravenclaw. Apart from feeling ecstatic, she also felt a sense of pride. She was captain. Captain. The owls had already been sent out to her parents, they had written back to her the very next day and she could practically feel their happiness on the parchment. Mylo Atkins, also a captain of the team, had walked her through the basics of what she was supposed to do and she took mental notes of everything he said. Violence was determined to do this perfectly.
However, she had joined at a time when the winter duels were over and she was to wait until the spring duels started for her actually moderate a duel officially. So when she heard the news of Hogwarts Field Day, and that it would require the help of Sports Captains, she was overjoyed. She revised all the effects she had learnt in her classes the night before and was more than ready the next morning. It had been quite hot lately and she had decided to put on a simple outfit: a tank top and denim shorts could never go wrong. Violence quickly gae herself a do-over before grabbing her cap and bag and rushing out the door. As she ran down the stairs, she checked her bag, making sure her water bottle and wand were still there.
Some time later, the participants for dueling had arrived and Violence was ready to start. The other captains would take turns moderating the event and Violence would be going first. She was a little uptight but she was committed to her role and would make sure she did it perfectly. She called out to the duelists and spells were fired as soon as she shouted 'Go!'. Streaks of blue could be seen flying through the air and she was surprised to realise that three people from the Blue team had cast Flipendo at Tatiana. Strategy? Coincidence? She would never know. The people on defense had also both cast Fumos and a smokescreen formed at both sides. She noticed that one of the Flipendo had found its way to Angel instead of Tatiana.
Violence quickly announced the updates and the beginning of the next round and stepped back, delighted at her part of the moderating.

Many people came forward to join for duelling and as such it became a sign to Angel that the round will start soon. However becoming uncertain of the skills her teammates have, she gave them a little bit of grace they probably know how the whole thing works so there really was no need to panic.
Violence Bloodthorn, Ravenclaw Captain for Duelling and seemingly older or younger. The one who will be moderating the rounds to come. Very gothic and pretty as she would say herself. Her mind was clear and prepared, stepping back along with the rest of team red quietly waiting for the signal.
"GO" it was there everyone ran to the opposing team, her team had mostly casted Fumos which was clever and best for now. Blind them if you have too. Unfortunately one of the Flipendo' casted from Blue team has redirected to her. What a way to start Angel scrunched and winced from the impact which was soften by her instincts. With her great speed she got back up but still a bit winded from the impact knocking the air out. Who knew a spell like that can stager a opponent's movement efficiently?
coughing for a while she yelled enough for her to hear her own voice "Keep going! I'll be alright!"

Came from the older Ravenclaw girl, and Paul, therefore, ran forward as fast as he could. His wand was in his palm, ready for action.
He knew the spells would be casted sooner than later, and wanted to get as far as possible, before he'd get hit by one.
But then, someone casted Fumos, and Paul was one of the victims. He couldn't see anything through the smoke, therefore, tried to wave his palm in front of his face to wind the smoke out a little. Mostly, he failed though, therefore, had to slow down.
"Bloody hell..." Did he force out, blinking several times, as he could only see silhouettes of the members of the other team in the smoke. The situation turned into chaos. Lights of the spells casted were flashing around, people were being hit with spells. The first two people hit were actually members of his team, Tatiana and Angel. Angel shouted that she was fine and that she would get into it in a bit. Good, thought the boy.
"Hey! Need a hand?" Did he ask a girl with black hair and a red band - Marci who was standing nearby. Then, he pointed at one of the Blue team players, and casted a spell.
Paul wasn't sure who he was pointing at, when he performed his own spell, but he guessed it was a girl.Actions: As strategized.

Marcella looked around a bit more. Today was definitely going to be amazing. She was excited to meet new people and make new friends. Despite the current turn of events in her personality, today was a good day. It thoroughly suprised the raven."Oh, hi," she said, giving the Slytherin a smile that could warm the ice on the leaves. Not as bright as the sun, but not as cold as winter either. Just in between. Just right. "The name's Marcella. Pleased to meet you." A small smile slithered in. Marcella chuckled as a thought entered her mind. A raven clawed hufflepuff slythered in through the gryffin door. The sun was perched high in the sky, and the birds chirped. It was literally the perfect day. She may not be a fan of summer, but she did enjoy the view.
Soon, a gryffindor boy joined the team. "Hey, Paul! Delighted to meet you," she said.
The round soon started, and many of her team members were attacked. Marcella dodged and ran. As she dodged, she tripped on her leg. "Hey! Need a hand? asked Paul. She smiled up at him. "I'm fine! You're doing great by the way!" she said giving the boy a quick smile. She quickly got back to business.

It was the first stop of the day for Persephone, more a function of its position rather than a specific interest. Truthfully, the little girl had never seen herself as much of a duellist. Hardly able to convince herself to use her wand outside of her classes, spending free time and joining matches that required her to seemed nothing short of a nightmare.
Since then, she'd signed up for two unofficial duels and found that...while the idea of slinging spells and having them thrown back at her were both still very much nerve-racking, they didn't fill her with nearly as much trepidation as she imagined. In reality, her fear was much less a terrifying and much less... something she needed to chronically worry over.
Was she sold? She didn't know yet, but she'd signed up for her house's team (one of several sign-ups) and figured...if she was getting in more broom practice for the other two, why not some extra spell practice? It could only make her better. On the off chance she did make the duelling team, Poppy didn't want to be the one standing in the middle of the duelling area looking like a deer caught in headlights.
The hardest part had already passed. She'd proven to herself that she could hit without falling apart and could be hit without the world ending.
Everything else was logistics.
Her timing hadn't been perfect, though. It seemed everyone else had already gotten started. While her robes were red, she found herself drawn toward the blue.
Deciding she wouldn't think too much about it – she'd spend the whole day on it otherwise – the little girl simply aligned herself, ready to do what she could for her team.

Coded by Melissa BlakeThe second I stepped into the field after signing up, I felt the blood running faster on my veins than it ever had.
I had never, in my whole life, participated voluntarily at any school physical activity. But now there was a buzzing on my ears that told that this was just... right.
The little duel began, and I inmediately felt the adrenaline running through my blood. By coincidence, I suppose, all the offense of my team casted the same spell at the defense of the other team. The way the spell landed perfectly and how I felt casting it... It was like heaven.
And I knew, right then and right there, suddently, that this was exactly where I was supposed to be. This is what I was meant to do.
Our team had done a successful move, but we still had to go for the red team's base. I was focused, already planning on my head, I could hear the engines working on my mind as some other students (I recognized Cassie, from the Volunteer Club) entered the field. We could go to the other base or keep attacking. Or retire. There were so many options...
And just then, I realized how much fun I could have in here.Stamina: 6 | Evasion: 6 | Strength: 4 | Wisdom: 7 | Arc Power: 6 | Accuracy: 6

The first round had concluded in a matter of seconds. Robin's teammates on the offensive all cast Flipendo at a single opponent. It was a targeted strike, they had little time to strategize so Robin could only think that it was a combination of quick wits and minimal discrete gestures that might've resembled a signal. Flipendo is the most damaging first year spell, that was a great choice, he thought. The success was evident, seeing as they were still unharmed while their opponents were not unscathed.
Robin was the only defense member at the time, so he figured to cast the most defensive spell he knew—Fumos, or the smokescreen spell—to hinder Team Red and give his teammates a slight advantage. Robin tried to sneak a look towards his rather new friend Mikaela after the conclusion of the round, but the opposing team's defense also succeeded in their Fumos attempt. He only got the chance to see someone getting hit before black smoke obstructed his view.
After a few seconds of rest where the moderator checked for any significant injuries, more students joined in on the field. Some wandered to the opposite team, while others stood near his and joined the battle as Team Blue. Seeing a veil of smoke emerge and spread on command was quite thrilling for the young Ravenclaw. He had duelled unofficially before, but seeing his magic give some a disadvantage while helping others in their pursuit was an entirely alien feeling. He only had to plan for himself in solo duels, but now he needs to consider other people. What would benefit his teammates? That's the question currently in his mind, as he readies his wand for another round of the game.
