The Birthday Odyssey (Marcella’s Birthday Hunt)

Was it fated from the start?
As the afternoon creeps forward in defiance of the fast paced passage of time, the grounded corridors of the castle murmur to each other. They sense the unrest, the excitement, apprehension. Something is happening and it stirs the kindred souls of the youth. The youth who chatter together in anticipation, gather outside the castle walls. They plan, they creep, they prepare for the final step. At long last, they await the raven.
The Library. Active like a cat on a moonlit night, quietly, delicately, demurely wandering the walk of man. The Library, with shelves stacked high with years of knowledge decorated with students roaming in and out in timeless tranquility. The half-day kisses of the sun waving through the windows. Among the shelves by one such window, a leather bound book of Classical origin catches the light.
Among its many pages waits a piece of the puzzle. The most important one. The final clue.
"You’ve solved every puzzle and read every line,
Now leave the ink and the dust behind.
The stone walls are heavy, the ceiling is low,
Follow the light where the wild things grow.
Look for the mirror that swallows the sun,
To the place where the silver currents run."

I have no news. I live quietly. I love you and I wait

Clark sat at one of the tables in the quite middle of the library, an astronomy book laid wide open infront of him on the table.
The library was half full, the only sounds that could be heared were occasional sounds of turning pages or distant footsteps between the shelves.
But Today Clark wasn't here to study or do his homework.
Today was May 8th.
Marcella's Birthday.
Ezra and Ava spent days planning this little hunt for her, hiding riddles across the Castle, that would lead her from place to place. And the Library happened to be the last stop in her hunt, before the actual celebration, which meant he was stationed here, with the last clue.
He was supposed to act normal.
Not suspicious.
Not like he was waiting for someone.
Though he still had plenty of time before Marcella even got here.
And acting like he wasn't anticipating ,awaiting her arrival, was harder than expected.
Clark lowered his gaze again, shifting on the chair, trying to let his focus slip to the open Textbook again. Earlier he had changed out of his uniform, into some more comfortable clothes.
Now he wore a brownish sweater vest, layered over a white suit shirt, the sleeves falling slightly over his wrists. And ofcourse he couldn't forget to decorate his fingers with his beloved silver rings, they clinked softly whenever he turned a page.
And somewhere, hidden carefully in the library, was the last clue, Marcella had to find.
Clark doubted that she would struggle to find it. She would be the last person, who would need help solving those riddles.
He was told to stay here, when she arrived and when she searched. When he was sure she found the clue, he would hurry out and get to the meeting point where the others would wait.
But for now his job was waiting.
The astronomy book still laid open infront of him, the last paragraph had already been reread multiply times.
