PHOENIX FEATHER CORE

"This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike.

Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalize, and their allegiance is usually hard won." 

Back Story: 
Lauren  is the daughter of two wizards that had attended magic schools. Her mother attended Hogwarts and her Father attended Beauxbâtons in France. They actually had met outside of the wizard world from their parents who were both wizards themselves.

The eleven year old has pale skin and deep black hair. Her eyes are a monotone blue-silver. Overall, she is quite skinny and usually wears her hair down.

Lauren grew up with magic all around her in her house as her family owned a kind house elf to help with the chores.

She was never a very expressive child growing up and is shy and self reserved around other students and wizards.
Despite her shyness, she is extremely curious and hard working when she finds herself interested on a subject.  She loves to spend her free time trying to understand the relationship animals have with each other and how they communicate. Lauren has always dreamed of meeting a hippogriff

Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wildhawk were thrilled when they saw the first sign of magic in their daughter when she was about 8 years old.

The young girl had shattered a glass of water out of fright when she had heard a loud shriek coming from her mother. A few days later, her mother sadly passed away and she lives now with her father and house elf.
Lauren's mother worked secretly for the minister and kept tabs on suspicious action of magic in the muggle world. As a result, her daughter did not know of her work and assumed that she has fallen ill from that day where her mother shrieked; however, the ministry had sent on her to a muggle home where there had been signs of a  Venomous Tentacula. Following her journey to convince the muggles to part the mysterious and aggressive plant from their garden. Shooting the Severing charm to stun it, she was able to apparate away with the plant and give it to the ministry for other purposes. Sadly, before being able to go back safely, the plant having been disturbed, bit her multiple times on the arm.
Coming back home, her husband tried every healing spell he knew but with no success. Mrs. Whildhawk died a few hours post the bite, having completed her assignment for the ministry.
Lauren's father decided to tell his daughter that she had had an accident over the few days and had passed away from it. The eleven year old did not question the story at all and grieved in silence.

Lauren wants to make her dad proud of her as she knows he doesn't always have the time to spend with her and notice her. She hopes that by succeeding in Hogwarts that she'll get her family to notice her a bit more.
