[font=Courier New]Eloise was raised just outside the village of Ringmer. The only child of two working parents, Eloise spent much of her time with her Nan and Grandad growing up. Nan and Grandad are her mother's parents. Eloise's has only met her paternal grandparents a few times as they moved to Germany before she was born. As a result, she is not close to either of them. Eloise looks up to her grandmother most out of anyone she knows. As a muggle, she taught Eloise how to bake, sew, embroider, and other tasks the muggle way. In simple terms, Eloise's grandmother was her best friend before Hogwarts. Eloise is also incredibly close to her mother, a talented potioneer. Her mother runs a small apothecary and keeps a garden for the supplies she can grow, allowing Eloise to help with simple tasks such as weeding and watering.
Her first example of magic occurred when Eloise was five. It was a cool autumn day, perfect for baking. She had been outside, running amongst the leaves, when her grandmother announced that the chocolate biscuits they made were almost done. Her nan told Eloise to wash up and wait for her, as the baking tray was still hot and she would burn herself on it. However, Eloise, being the impatient little girl she was, did not want to wait. Despite nan's warnings, Eloise reached up and grasped the edge of the baking tray. When her hand touched the tray, Eloise cried out. Just as her grandmother had promised the tray was hot. However, when Eloise pulled her hand away there was not a burn. Instead, a small, tingling red mark lay where her skin had touched the metal.
"Nan!" Holding out her hand, Eloise found herself being swept up in her Grandmother's arms. To say her grandmother was excited was an understatement. That didn't mean she wasn't angry, though, and Eloise received quite a scolding for disobeying before she received her biscuit. [/font]
