Weekends were glorious for anyone whether it was staff or student, wizard or witch, muggle or magical (at least that one Percy was only semi-sure of) and for good reason too. Weekends meant undivided personal time and it was easier to cause mischief during the weekends. Percy would have been causing mischief if not for his lack of friends to cause it with and usually this might have been a quick fix because of his older brother, Theron, but Percy had unfathomable amounts of doubt within himself and most of it stemmed from the fact that he was sorted into the wrong house. Or at least in his opinion. Maybe being a Gryffindor was not so bad for other people but not for Percy, it meant isolation from his family and garaunteed disappointment but the doubt wasn't just from him thinking he's in the wrong house but also because he wondered whether or not Theron despised him.

While thinking about causing mischief and hanging out with his brother, Percy had wandered into some sort of completely unused classroom. Odd. You'd think with the amount of students in this castle there might be a use for every room here but no, this classroom was empty and had no trace of anything that might be related to some sort of class. This was an upside, definitely, Percy now had a place to himself for a little bit. Once he sat down at one of the desks all he was able to hear were the footsteps of other people passing the classroom and every time he heard another set of them, Percy would prepare to hide somewhere as if this classroom was easy to hide in.

Soon enough boredom captured Percy and he hadn't brought anything to do, of course he had his wand and that's cool but it's not like he has vast knowledge of spells. Instead of messing with spells, Percy decided to use his wand to gently drum on the desk in no decided rhythm. Those outside the classroom could probably hear it but nobody really came in to check on it and most likely thought it was a bird tapping on the window.

Percy leaned back in his chair a bit and rested his feet on top the desk, still tapping on the desk with his wand as well but in a slower rhythm. His eyes closed but he wasn't trying to sleep, the lack of light just soothed his head for some reason and that was preferable with all of the intrusive thoughts racing around his head at all times. After a moment of having his eyes closed, Percy stood up abruptly and looked around for any parchment to perhaps write a letter to his family but remembered there was no quill on him. Of course, the second he wanted to do something with his quill it wasn't in his pocket. Great. Percy slowly went back into his previous position and resumed the tapping in the desk, planning to do that for a while only because he could.

He was amazed at how he actually had quite the fun here in Hogwarts. He was worried that the new environment, people, and the long-distance between his grandmother and him would greatly affect his behavior.

The thought of growing softer sent unpleasant chills down his spine. The only time the desire to prove his nefarious (or as he would like to think) personality went down under the drain is when his family came in mind. One does have the mood to annoy another's day when pent up frustration and raging jealousy knocks at one's door.

Fortunately for him, the thought of his family did not manage to bother the boy. On lovely days like this, napping on thick tree branches, tripping someone over with his leg, and re-reading the letters from his grandmother were one of the activities he finds joy in doing. However, today he decided to take things on a bit of a different route.

Percival Rainwood. It was a blessing and a curse that Hanako had managed to find someone like him. The Rainwood was one that showed his short temper with no problems. It would be logical if he loathed to be with Hanako, who finds great joy in messing with others. But who would've thought the two would be fine together. Sure he was sure Percival wanted to tackle him sometimes but he still stayed.

Hanako convinced himself the only reason why he did was because Percival hasn't found the right ' friend ' yet. Chances that Percival would leave him the moment a new shinier, friendlier student came in the picture looked higher than the chances of him staying. With this mindset, he was able to allow himself to enjoy the company of his roommate without being worried about anything long-term. Perhaps, that was the only reason he found the courage to explore the castle with him.

A few months in and it was sure that there was at least 60% of the castle they haven't explored yet. He usually tried to explore himself, but why not have fun with Percival before he goes off to better friends.

On the way back to their dorms, they strode their way along empty corridors. Everything dead silent except the soft tapping of a stick against a wooden surface. Quietly but swiftly, he stopped Percival in his tracks by blocking his way with one arm.

" You know- " he whispered to the blonde "- I've always thought of these empty classrooms like mouse traps. When I came to Hogwarts, I thought it would be fun to have some fun with anyone who decides to visit these rooms. Do you get what I'm saying?"

He walked a bit further and stood in front of Percival with his regular coy smile. " Don't you think we should pay the mice a lovely visit~?" He whispered, mischief gleaming in his eyes. The thought of messing up someone's day before his own ends greatly satisfied him. Sure, he wasn't used to having any company with his ' activities '. But it was Percival Rainwood! If anyone would understand this hobby of his, it would be him.

He pointed his thumb towards where the drumming was coming from, his smile never fading.

Percival walked next to Hanako at a leisurely pace. The pair had been enjoying a walk in the mostly empty halls. The boy's footsteps could be heard tapping down the hall, and in a way, they reminded him of his mother's own footsteps. Though her's had always been clean and sharp taps against a stone.

The thought of his mother a sour mood crossed Percival. He had not received any letters from his mother since his birthday. It was honestly partly his fault, he could not bring himself to pick up his quill and write. Though it still stung at the thought of having to break the silence between them.

These thoughts flowed through him as he walked beside Hanako. It took him a second to realize that the two had not spoken in awhile, but instead had fallen into a comfortable silence. Percival did not mind though enjoying the time to think over certain things. He could almost always figure his way out of a situation as long as he had time to think. Though those times rarely happened, and he often found himself flung into trouble.

Percival glanced towards Hanako as they walked. The other had honestly become a close friend to him. It surprised Percival to no end seeing how easily the two could start bickering. Percival hadn't realized that Hanako put his arm out to block him until after he bumped into it.

Taking a small step backward, the boy glanced down at the arm for a second or two. As the two stood still, he began to hear the soft drumming that resonated through the quiet corridors. He looked to Hanako as he waited for the other to speak. The boy raised an eyebrow slightly as Hanako began to describe a plan for the unsuspecting student in the room.

Percival chewed the inside his lip as he debated on what to do. The corridor was pretty quiet due to the fast-approaching time of curfew. The idea of getting into trouble was slightly appealing, and as long as Hanako was there it could even maybe be a little fun. "Why not." he said in agreement.

"I guess we can kiss goodbye making curfew on time." he muttered as he grabbed onto the doorknob of the classroom. It was surprisingly easy to turn and open the door to the room. The room itself was fairly bland and only housed a few desks. At one of the desks sat a boy who did not look that much older than them.

The boy's wavy brown hair was the only real feature that he could make out on such short notice. Instead of speaking, Percival walked through the door and moved to the right to make room for Hanako. Percival crossed his arms across his chest as he wondered exactly what would happen next.
