There must be a mistake part two

" Well some birds are born with feathers and are able to fly as soon as they hatch, And yes I love all of the animals big, small, green, blue, red, purple, and I even like all snakes, sharks, and fish. So yes I love all animals great and small thin and wide. Even if you don't I love cats a whole lot to I know I can be a crazy or not crazy Hippogriff and lady because why not I will have enough room in my house for both animals and more then those two I will have a crup and a knarl and even like one hundred owls and mice and turtles." Meredith was hopeless when it came to super cute animals and somehow she even found fish super cute and then next book she had was one that Alina would probably get annoyed at her for it was the " Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" book and before Alina had dragged her off from the Magical Creatures section and into the Baby Magical Creatures section Meredith had grabbed this amazing book of awesome magical creatures that was A-Z of all of the magical creatures and Meredith put it in her bag so Alina did not see it hoping Alina did not see her put it in her bag and if she did then she would need a very good excuse for it.

"You'll need a farm with a tremendous amount of room and a husband with even better patience," she said and shook her head. Really though it was more than she knew what she planned to do in the future. She wasn't even sure what her summer held for her to be honest. "If we do try to go into the forest, you have to promise me that no creatures come out with us!" she said and pointed her finger directly to Meredith.

Sure, she'd be tempted most likely but Alina didn't put it past the other girl to take it one step closer and give into the temptation, smuggling out some sort of little creature in her bag. "Not even a leaf! Absolutely no exceptions!" It had to be such. Already, she wasn't sure if she'd get into the forest or not. Was it protected by some kind of magical enchantments? Perhaps. Or maybe the magic was just the other way, where the creatures couldn't come onto the grounds of Hogwarts but those at Hogwarts could go on the Grounds. Sometimes Alina wasn't sure this was the best idea. Weren't professions floating around word of attacks from a bit ago? Oh that was awhile ago! It would be safe now.

" I guess so although I might bring something into the forest like something that definitely does not exist." Meredith knew that she just might of told Alina that she had a book about magical creatures. " I really hope that Alina never finds out about this book. " She thought with a mischievous grin on her face. " Hey, uh um what time is it my watch is not on me and if it was right now it would not be working because it broke yesterday." Meredith asked quietly. Meredith got up from the table and put the Baby Hippogriff book back on the shelf and grabbed a book on centaurs and she said to Alina as she sat back down at the table," Sense Centaurs live in the Forest we should learn as much as possible about them and it says here that they are very territorial so we should avoid going in to the territory or something bad might happen because they attack on sight but the plus side of the forest is that it has foxes, rabbits, birds , and Hippogriffs , as well as unicorns and stuff like that oh and did I say that there is Hippogriffs in the forest and Thestrals." Meredith said.

"Centaurs? Like...Half man, half horse?" She knew of them from slight passing but the idea was simply crazy! So many questions filled her mind about the creatures. Did they enjoy being as they were or did they wish they were all human or all horse? Did they identify more with their human side or horse side or was it nothing like that at all and instead they were their own unique being that humans said was half human-half horse.

"Do you think if it was the other way 'round," she was going to say something completely off the wall here, "...if Centaurs had human ends and horse heads...would they wear clothes to cover their, well...you know, their...parts?"She shouldn't have probably said that out loud though because it wasn't really appropriate conversation in the school library. Alina looked around and luckily it seemed no one was paying the girls much mind. There weren't too many in the library and the largest group was congregated over by the writing station to write kindness letters to others and encourage literacy for the students. Alina herself had written three notes that she placed around, although she kept them anonymous. No one needed to know of her doing KIND things.

Meredith from just reading this book now knew a whole lot about centaurs. " Well yes that is what they are but you do not want to say that in front of the centaurs, they get offended from that because they think that they have higher than human intelligence and that they are not half breeds but that they are pure breeds since they are now classified as centaurs not half human half horse animal creature things." Meredith actually knew a person who knew another person who knew a centaur and they were really good friends. " Alina seemed like she knew a lot about magic and magical creatures but she keeps surprising me! Alina did not even know what a centaur was half and half of. Ha ha ha! Meredith thought to herself thinking about what would happen if they met a centaur in the Forest and what that they would say if they encounter a as Alina would call it a " Half horse half human person thing"/ centaur with a bow and arrows. " a centaur to be exact would a creature with the head, arms, and torso of a man and the body and legs of a horse." Meredith explained to Alina directly from the book.

"So how did they come to be? Did they just exist as you and I or did like...a person and a horse...," she closed her eyes and looked away, NOT wanting to think about that. "Actually, I think I'd rather not know. On to a new subject now, thank you very much!" And yes, she realized it was her that brought that up.

Alina looked at her book. So many of her acquaintances there at Hogwarts were magical creatures fans. She liked them and all but was much more fascinated by the plants for some reason. "Are Centaurs even friendly? Are Hippogriffs? Are we going to march into that forest and be killed within three seconds?"

They were valid questions. And sure, even if the answer was 'yes' to all of them, she'd still risk it. What was the difference in dying that day at Hogwarts or being killed by her father or thrown out on the streets to starve? This one at least would make for a more interesting story and if there was a eulogy, the entire school would have to attend to hear it. Otherwise, she might have an attendance of one or two at her funeral.

" I have no clue how they happened or anything of the sort because only mentions a few things about that type of stuff so uh I have no clue what so ever." She said clutching the book the she was sneaking out with out Alina knowing. " We will be going to the forest tomorrow so that would give me all night to read this book because I have never read this one before I don't think or maybe I did at some port father made me read all kinds of random books that I now know as books that I will be needing to read before classes start witch they already have. Wow! It is kind of nice in here this Library must be like sleep enhanced or something like that because I am really tired maybe because I was up all night writing a letter to my father or something like that." Meredith let out a yawn and tried to keep on reading.
Meredith paused for a moment when she read, " The biggest herd of centaur live in the forest right outside of the magical school Hogwarts. In this forest only few people are allowed into the forest." that was what made her stop and think that was when she realized.That you can not post in the forbidden forest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Centaur were starting to freak her out just a little but she didn't bring this realization up Meredith because she seemed fascinated by them. "Does it explain the proper way to greet a Centaur? We would want to have some niceties about it. Is it customary to address them a certain way? And how do we greet them? Obviously we can't shake hands...." Alina didn't know how awful she sounded sometimes.

"And what is good manners to a centaur? Are we to bring them a gift? Do they think kindly of humans? Of wizards? Would they look at me as only a pretty face or would they ignore me completely, thinking I'm a girl with no value?"

The librarian announced that it was nearing curfew and that they needed to make their last minute book selections and be wrapping up their assignments. "Well, I'd still call today a success even though we didn't get much done. We're one step closer to our goal," although she was sure their goals were quite different. She wanted to go to the forest to find a way to get to Hogsmeade and Meredith probably wanted to get to the forest to see all the creatures, never getting to Hogsmeade. Sad for the girls that they wouldn't be getting there at all but they didn't know it and for now, Alina was still an optimist.

" Well not really but it does say that the smartest approach would be to not approach them at all because they will attack you. But we will be fine because of how young we are so we would be okay I think." Meredith read some very interesting notes on centaurs it said, " With the lower body of a large horse and the upper torso and arms of a human, centaurs combine speed and strength in their powerful forms. A centaur is as big and heavy as a horse, standing about 7 feet high and weighing about 2,100 pounds. " " Hey look at this." She showed Alina that page waiting for her surprised look. Meredith spotted a piece of parchment in the book that someone was using as a bookmark and the piece of parchment said this: " A Centaur is a magical creature whose head, torso, and arms appear to be human and are joined to a horse's body. They are, however, their own individual species, and thus are not half-breeds. They also have a rich history and are known for being naturally talented in Healing magic, Divination and Astronomy." Meredith handed this random piece of parchment to Alina and said to her, " This piece of parchment was in the book on centaurs and it is kind of cool."

Now that did seem to peak her interest and she leaned closer to take a look at the written message. Healing magic? She had been rather interested in healing since being in the Hospital Wing earlier in the year. Somehow, she couldn't quite explain it, but there was something comforting about it. Even when things seemed uncertain and things seemed frightening, the fact that there was someone there that was going to do their best to help you was reassuring.

And her best subjects so far seemed to be Potions and Herbology so maybe healing was right up her alley. It made her want to find a centaur just so she could have a conversation with him. Him? "...Are there female centaurs?" And now how did that work? Now that just had her mind working far too much. There kinda had to be, right? She knew how the whole birds and the bees things worked. She sighed a little. Would her comment have Meredith looking for baby centaurs now? The idea made her smile a little. What was she getting herself into? Magical Creatures had a LOT going on and it was a world that was just not for her.
