QUIDDITCH - GRYFFINDOR vs SLYTHERIN - SPRING 2026
Date: 3rd May 2026
Time: 1:30 pm
Weather: Warm and sunny with a light breeze
Moderator: @Aly Salinger

Whether it was the result of a Weather-Modifying Countercharm or just plain good luck, the weather on this lovely first Sunday of May had turned out to be absolutely perfect for Quidditch. Players who had dealt with the winter matches' freezing rain would heave sighs of relief upon noticing the bright, warm rays of golden sun filtering through patches of fluffy white clouds above, a light breeze tickling the backs of their necks so as to keep them from sweating too hard. Yes, indeed, if there were ever a day for the wizarding world's most beloved sport, it was this.Link to Quidditch System: link here!! | Spring Patch: link here!!
The announcer for the present game seemed to think so, shouting out with their enchanted loud voice, "Hello, you lot, and welcome to the last morning Quidditch match of the year! Good day for it, innit? And if you were looking for Hogwarts' most heated rivalry, you've found it, for today we'll be watching the gallant Gryffindors play the smooth Slytherins!"
Cheers from the stands, which mostly boasted people dressed in the relevant shades of vermilion and emerald, clearly showed that the announcer had arrived at the right match! They grinned at the crowds, giving those nearest them a thumbs-up before turning back to announce the members of each team.
"All right, then. Let's give it up for team Gryffindor as they make their way out onto the pitch! Led by longtime captains Zhang and Smith, of course. Today, you'll have the pleasure of watching... Frederick Buckley in the hoops! Harlan Montgomery, Rosaline Everhart, and Alphonse Toussaint-" the first of those three names said with something of disdain- "chasing after the Quaffle! Captains Pax Zhang and Ethan Smith with their trusty bats! And, naturally, Aodhan Shaw trying to seek that Snitch!" After applause for the first-strings had died down, it was time to give the second-strings their moment. "On the bench for Gryffindor as well, we have Avery Gray! Laasya Manjunath! Oonagh Brown! Aaaand... Hana Suzuki!"
The scarlet-clad spectators went wild, and it took a moment for them to calm down. Finally, they had done so, and it was time to move on.
"Time for Team Slytherin to come on out, and let's cheer them on just as much, shall we? Of course, we'll have new-ish captains Winfield and Merrick leading them out. As for who you'll be seeing today, make some noise for the Keeper, Charlotte Winfield herself! Your Chasers: Rafal Devereux, Milica Vranekova, and Jade Blake! Your Beaters, Percival Rainwood and Aamon Athanatos!" The first Beater's name was also said with something close to revulsion, and the surname of the second wasn't something to sneeze at, either. "And you'll have Violeta Roux as your Seeker!" A moment for applause again, then it was time for the second-strings. "And on the bench for Slytherin, too, we have Chaewon Lee! Cassandra Ironwoods! Isabeau Nevara! Aaaand... Silas Norwood..." The announcer trailed off at the last name. Ugh.
Both teams would meet in the middle, where the captains would shake hands and the ref would prepare to toss the Quaffle in the air and start the game.
"Make sure you give some extra cheers for Rainwood, it's his last match - something I'm sure the other Houses will be thankful for. As for the rest, let's make this one nice and sportsmanlike," the announcer began before punctuating their announcing with a quick laugh. "Oh, who are we kidding? Like that'll ever happen! But anyway... let's go, lions versus snakes!"
Then the whistle would blow, and the game would begin.
This is a spectator thread for the Quidditch Game. 200 words is still the requirement for all threads. Please remember that you are not able to interface with the players on the pitch from a spectator thread.

It had been a season since she had last been near the Quidditch field, her pale eyes narrowing at the reminder of the screams, the tears of an angel succumbing to a brutal end. Nabi reached, fixing her blacked-out sunshades, her hidden eyes glancing over to Aamon, who seemed to have chosen on appearing like a cornered rat.
No longer munching on snacks like in the prior game.
She'd hum softly, unaware she shifted in her seat, close to the edge as she reached out. Reflections of memories poured to fill her mind of glass, when he fell... when her breath caught flight as she reached out like she could have prevented his damnation from the field.
And before she knew it, her voice followed from the crowd, "Aamon!"
Nabi blinked, her heart momentarily stopping as she watched how the young Athanatos managed to miss the bludger. There was a reason she had left the team after his fall... a reason why she stared at the Quidditch sign-ups once hearing he was well.
The walls spoke after all, echoing the secrets that souls tried to hide.
The feeling she tried to ignore as she ventured into the water with quiet steps, yet soon wrapped around her, aiming to sink her with a ruined dress.
All because she fancies a lost fawn.
Who moved to stick out his tongue towards the opponent.
A small breath she did not notice she had been holding would leave her before moving to try and hide in the crowd, in hopes of not being noticed.

Mikey arrived late. Very late. He had barely gotten out of his own Quidditch gear before changing and sprinting back across the castle toward the stands. One sleeve of his jacket was still half rolled up, his hair was a complete mess from flying, and he was pretty sure he'd tied his scarf on wrong somewhere along the way.
The moment he got back to the pitch, he slowed enough to catch his breath and looked out over the it. Ten to one hundred. That was... not ideal. Mikey climbed up onto one of the benches to get a better view of the field, scanning across the players. Bludgers were flying everywhere. Players were dropping from their brooms. The whole match looked less like Quidditch and more like a small scale war.
Then he spotted Avery. She wasn't on the pitch. She was still on the bench, shouting loud enough that he was pretty sure people in London could hear her. Judging by the way she was cheering, she was taking her job as Gryffindor's second string player extremely seriously. Without hesitation, Mikey joined in. "COME ON GRYFFINDOR!" His voice cracked halfway through but he ignored that completely.
Mikey leaned forward against the railing, watching another collision happen somewhere near the center of the pitch. His stomach twisted slightly every time someone got hit by a Bludger. Being a Keeper was stressful enough. Watching from the stands somehow felt worse. At least when he was playing he could do something. Now all he could do was cheer and so that was exactly what he did.
Whenever he spotted Avery again, he waved both arms over his head like an idiot, completely unconcerned with how ridiculous he looked. "Avery!" His voice carried across the stands. Even after his own match, even after running halfway across Hogwarts to get here, there wasn't anywhere else he would rather be. Watching Avery play or cheer in this case was worth showing up late for.
