All this language! Finished

Tya immediately knew when she reached the library that she had found her home. She had always loved libraries, seeing as she grew up in them, and this was the biggest library she had ever seen. In awe, Tya wanders around, just reading the spines, of the books until she comes across one labeled, "Languages of Magical Creatures". Tya gasps in shock. She loves language with a burning passion, one ignited by Rosa's impassioned speeches on how language is the way to learn anything, and how if you know an area's language you know the area. She immediately grabbed the book, and being too shy to talk to the head librarian, sat down with it at a table and began to read. Every day after this, in her free time, Tya would go and read the book, until she had finally finished it. With a strong need to know more, Tya went and grabbed books that went into more detail on languages outside of what she knew, reading even the cross language dictionaries to increase her knowledge. She does this for months, working tirelessly on learning everything that she can about the other languages out there, coming across language after language, first studying Mermish (she thought it made sense, as there were merpeople in the lake), struggling through the high, screechy syllables, and practicing underwater listening and speaking in the baths. She then studies Gobledegook, working on the raspiness, but still ending up with the distinct human syllables, and not quite being able to comprehend anything that the Goblins say. She then sets her sights on the language of the beautiful Veela, working up the nerve to not stumble on her words, and keep the flowing tones inherent in it, and learning how to break up the syllables. She actually manages to do this, but after actually seeing an image of a Veela, she gives up the studies, seeing that she would never be able to talk with them anyways. One day, while she was heading to her dorm room, Tya heard a strange sound. It sounded almost like a snake, but it had a breathiness to it that she could hear. Following the sound into a corridor she heard a small squeak of surprise, and saw a snake slither down the hall. Tya then devoted time looking for what that language was, until she finally found it. Parselmouth. She spent weeks studying it. until she could barely read, but she never could make the sounds she needed to come out appear. After spending all that time, she came back to Mermish, and with the new knowledge perfected it and finally had the language down. As a test, she practiced once more in the baths, and the beautiful, almost melodic sound that came out was enough of a reward for her long hours of study. She went to bed that night happy, and decided that she would find a way to waterproof her lyre so she could sing in that beautiful language.
