Tya runs towards an place she had only just heard of. She had just gotten her letter from Hogwarts, a great surprise to her parents. She had never really confessed the fateful moment in her dad's library, the day that she discovered that magic didn't only exist in stories. Her family was very conservative, and she feared that she would be disowned if she had told them. But today... today the letter had arrived, shattering her family's preconception of who she was. Her family, who had always thought of her as a simple, kind of air-headed, girl, had only stared at her blankly when they had seen it, thinking it was a joke, but she had known that it was not, so that night, she decided. Decided that she would go to this school and figure out exactly who she was. Tya stole a 500 euro note from her mom's wallet and hopped on a boat heading from Dublin to Swansea. Her only thoughts were, "If only I had told them", and "What am I doing". After she had dropped into a restless sleep that night, she could be heard muttering, "Tia Rosa, porque te vayaste? No me sabe que va a hacer sin ti".Translation: Rosa, Why did you leave me? I don't know what Im going to do without you.

Once at Swansea, Tya was worried. She had already been asked by several people where her parents were, and she was afraid that she'd be sent back. She also was quickly running out of money. Her 500 euros that she had stolen were quickly running out, seeing as she had already spent 300 of them on the boat ride and food. She had to find some way to make it to London, but how? She also was worried about how she would get her school supplies. She would need to use the last of her money on a ride to London, so she would have nothing left for school. Suddenly she had an idea. She would hitchhike, and say that she was lost and needed to get back to her aunt in London. As long as she acted terrified (which wouldn't be hard, as she was), she should get there easy enough. "Now, as long as they don't call the policemen on me, I should be fine" she muttered to herself.
Tya walked up to a woman leaving Tesco, and asked her if she could have a ride to Brecon. The lady was curious and mildly worried, so when she asked why Tya responded, "Ma'am, I am positively jaded. I'vs been trying to get to me auntie's in London, but there was a problem and I missed my flight, so I had to get here by boat, and drive up there. My Uncle came down with the flu and couldn't make it, and I cant go back, as my mum is away." Tya started to cry, "Please Ma'am, I only need a drive that far, and I can find a way there. Please help, I promise I am not letting you on!" The woman looked concerned, and hesitated a moment. "I can bring you to Bristol, mush, but I want to stay there with you in order to make sure you are doing well, and to help you find a way to your Auntie's. And Im not being funny, If you can not find anyone, I will call the police and have them take you" she stated kindly. "Thank you ever so much Ma'am," Tya replied as she hopped into the offered seat, "that is much further than I expected! You are so kind! How can I repay you?" The woman answered, "You don't have to mush, just be safe. And, Ma'am is my mother, call me Natalie". "Thank you Natalie!" Tya responded, "Thank you ever so much".
