Did he have any right, whatsoever, to be so rude to Anastasia? Definitely not; even someone as thick-headed as Chad knew that this was no way to treat anyone. But this was something that just had to be done. It was for Scott's own good! It was nothing against Anastasia, of course- nothing personal, it was all just strictly business. Chad was simply protecting his best friend from the dangerous world of dating women, which was like... the selfless thing to do, right? That was at least how he saw it.
Scott rubbed his own upper lip, and Chad internally fist-pumped as he realized that he was kind of, sort of, passing for a real man! After all, Scott had just compared him to his uncle, which had to be a huge achievement, right? Honestly, even if this all ended in flames, at least he had the satisfaction of knowing that his drag game was pretty slick. It was the type of elation that could fill a balloon- the type of pride that nothing could tear down.
... Except for Scott's next words. The smile that had been proudly displayed was swept away from Chad's face, and his mouth twisted into a frown. You've got to be kidding... Scott didn't actually think Anastasia was that pretty, did he? Without thinking (which seemed to be quite the common theme, lately) Chad bit back- an action he almost immediately regretted.
"The hell are you talking about, man?" he snorted, rolling his eyes overdramatically. Before he could stop himself, the words were already flying out of his mouth, and they were far harsher than he had originally intended for them to be. "She's not that pretty, and besides, she's borderline desperate. I don't think I'm missing out on much." Frowning as Scott leaned in and told him to turn around, Chad scowled deeply, but he obliged and stepped to the side, finally letting the other Gryffindor into their conversation.
He met Scott's gaze with a defiant stare, although this was far different than the mischievous glances he'd normally throw towards his best friend on a daily basis. No, this one was fueled by pure rage and hatred, and all of it clearly directed towards Anastasia. In fact, Chad was nearly trembling with the amount of pent-up aggression he was trying to containing, looking for all the world like he was bout three seconds away from slapping her silly.
To be completely honest, Chad hadn't felt this angry in... in years. Even Ami's anger towards Dorian her first year was nothing compared to what he was feeling now- but he had a sinking suspicion that his rage was amplified the pure fear that he was feeling, as well. His fists clenched and unclenched nervously as he realized just how clearly his inner thoughts were displayed on his face. Rather than a light-hearted smile or a raised eyebrow, his face was stony and his eyes clouded over, like he was contemplating where he should stab Ana or strangle her with his bare hands.
No, no, no. Those were bad thoughts. He wasn't allowed to think like that- bad things tended to happen when he lost control of his anger. And still, he could feel it bubbling until it would inevitably boil over. Even though he was 5'7", there wasn't enough room to contain all of the emotions he was feeling. Rage was certainly at the forefront of it all, but looming over everything was fear. Fear that he was going to lose his best friend over a stupid girl.
It wasn't supposed to happen like this.
"I don't get it, man!" he finally burst out. "You're choosing to waste your time with this pathetic excuse of a kid? She's straight-up pining over you, Scott. You'd think she'd at least have the decency to tell you straight-out that she wants to have your babies and kiss you until her lips turn blue, but she doesn't even have the guts to do that. And I thought Gryffindors were supposed to be brave...
"And I thought you were supposed to be on my side!" Okay, now he was just babbling. Shut up, shut up, shut up... And yet, like always, his mouth had a mind of its own and continued to chug along without a filter. A trait that had once been endearing had now turned deadly, and he didn't like it one bit. "You're supposed to be my best friend, but you're picking this stupid little girl over me? This- this is ridiculous!"
Well, yikes. He knew that he was causing a scene, and he could feel his cheeks flushing the same color as his hair, but he couldn't just stop now. After all, he'd already caused this much damage, why not go all the way. "She's not worth your time, man," Chad spat, throwing a hostile glare towards Anastasia. "Just a cookie-cutter trust-fund-baby, with nothing special about her. I don't know why you'd even bother."

Secret Blossom Ball
Aida's smile and enthusiasm were infectious and Alexander's lips couldn't help but curl upwards as he saw her smile like that. Then as he said his name Alexander responded in kind, or at least tried to. "Aida mursgor-something Ellwood" He then looked himself upwards and downwards. Then he looked at Aida raised his right eyebrow ( a skill he had been practicing for a long time) giving almost a questioning look. Then he burst out in laughter and laughed for a few seconds before responding.
"I suppose we do in fact look like penguins. Though in my case it is more like a penguin who wiggles around with a large cloak draped over him."
"and it is no problem you couldn't find any supplies. I wanted to make some potions but the potions lab seems to not be open for recreational use. I did bring some rope though." Alexander then motioned to his bag. Though it was still closed.
"Always handy, rope that is."
He then gave Aida's clothing and especially her boots a one-over before responding. "That is good to hear. How did you improve the boots? Are they made of more supple leather for the soles? They do look very nice by the way."
As Aida began talking about tactics Alexander's expression got a little more serious as he went through an analytical situation in his mind. "On the one hand I would say that staying near the brooms helps a quick evacuation. But for that same reason, it might be the avenue of attack. Mainly because that is the main exit as well. If I were a dark force attempting to attack the ball I would be attacking from the South."
He then put his arms behind his back. Attempting to create a thoughtful tactician look. But due to his young age and outfit made him look more silly than anything else.
"As for hunting around the crowd. Could be good for gathering information but depending on when the chaos is going to be unleashed it might leave us vulnerable and within the crosshairs of what might happen."
Then as the topic returned to more ball focused Alexander became a little more relaxed and responded more casually.
"As for a boutonniere" He went next to Aida's ear and mock whispered. "I have no idea what that word means. It could be a flower, from the context it probably is, or a drunk French Dwarf and I wouldn't know the difference."
In the same lieu of conversation, Alexander commented on Aida's look
"You also look very nice. I like the style that you are going with. Very stylish and aristocratic." As he said that Alexander felt the pressure in his stomach increase once more but he gave no sign of it.

It wasn’t long before the Pitch started to fill with students. The bad feeling in Maria’s gut still lingered, but seeing everyone having fun in their wonderful outfits made her loosen up a bit. Eventually, she grew restless and made her way to the table with food and drinks. She took a bottle of something called Yoohoo and poured its contents into a cup and put in a couple of ice cubes. When she took her first sip, her face shifted into a high fructose corn syrup induced grimace before she fully processed it’s flavor. “Not bad.” With an internal shrug, she kept sipping on her drink while she walked around and observed the other students at the ball. She didn’t really know a lot of the people in attendance, just a few familiar faces like her friend Rosie Parker. Her eye caught a few things happening around, like how one boy apparently did not believe in wearing shoes, or how Annie the Hufflepuff prefect had a special look for the girl she was with, or how ecstatic the Huffle boy who organized this whole shebang was. It was a good night for the badgers, apparently.
Everything seemed to blur into a flurry of ball gowns and tuxedos, with a few outfits that just screamed “notice me”. One boy was entirely too hard to miss, in fact she had seen him as soon as she arrived. For starters, he wore an almost entirely white suit, and carried a vase of flowers so big Maria thought he’d put them on one of tables as a center piece. If that wasn’t enough, her carried a large duffle bag that looked heavy. Who brings a duffle bag to a ball? “This bloke, apparently.” She thought as she hid her smirk in her glass with another sip. From where she stood, she could hear him practice his greetings towards his date, someone named Wren. A girl in pink approached him and started talking. After a while a girl from the Gryffindor Quidditch team approached in a pretty blue dress. The shatter of a mirror could be heard. She must be Wren. Maria took this as her cue to move somewhere else-back near the entrance maybe. She took one last inconspicuous look at them, the girl was now holding a large box chocolates. Ah, the things people do to impress.
She fiddled with her dress and grabbed another bottle of the sweet chocolate milk to put into her glass before she picked a new spot. For some reason heavy bags seemed to be a trend tonight. Another boy came in bringing a bag, sauntering in with a cockiness that could only be described as pure-blood. Her gut dropped once again. There was something off. Or maybe it was just the chocolate milk. Downing the rest of it, she once again found a place to look around.
Tryna solve a problem like Maria.

Oswald sat down, anxiety filled. But he did not have to wait long for a response. Dan stood up immediatly and hugged him. Tears flodded his shoulder and Dan's arms wrapped tightly around his body. Oswald hugged him aswell with one arm and placed the other at the back of Dan's head.
"Where teh shaggin' hell'v ye been?! Ye had me so worried I couldn't half sleep at night! What happened? I've missed ye so much!"
He took a deep breath and thought for a moment before he began to explain. "I am sorry Dan , I.... I know, I have been away for quite some time. My mother she.... ummmm.." He made a pause mid-sentence to focus on the situation. One more deep breath. "She passed away... when I visited my family. Please you have to understand me , I could not come back to Hogwarts! I was not able to focus on anything. I did not sleep or eat , I just cried and lyed in my bed for days and days." While he explained himself, one would notice that he sounded rather calm, maybe even a little bit empty.

It was funny how in the span of like, half an hour, Lydia's mood had completely changed. Before her hair got messed up alls he could think about was relaxing, dancing with her date and enjoy a nice night of fun; but now, all she could think about were Aurelia's words. Why did she lie about Rafael, why make up all of that? Lydia simply couldn't wrap her head around that.
She entered the pitch once again, and for a second was taken back by the amount of students that had arrived while she was gone; if she wouldn't have been too concentrated on finding her date, she would have probably stated walking around, asking people if they were having fun and if they liked the ball. But she couldn't, not yet anyway. To have a better chance at spotting the Gryffindor captain in the sea of students that had filled the Pitch, Lydia decided to stay by the two armours to have a better point of view: this ay, if he was already inside she would have had a better chance at locating him, while if he still needed to arrive, he would have had to walk in front of her to get to the main area.
So, she simply stood there, feeling a little bit awkward as she played with a strand of her new blue hair; the looked amazing, the colour was gorgeous, and she wondered for how long they would have stayed that way. "I should have asked that to Aurelia..." Lydia thought as she let go of her hair, her eyes moving back to the dance floor. She could see Opeila dance with a boy, that was probably her date, and Willow sitting at a table, while Aaron was walking around, probably still greeting people. At least they were having fun.

Sitting alone at a table was not Logan's plan for the Blossom ball, but that is what seems to have happened. The young Hufflepuff sighed as she stood and walked towards one of the food tables, at least she could get something to drink. The young girl honestly couldn't remember why she had come here in the first place anymore. She had almost no friends and it wasn't like she had a date for the event.
The young girl gently moved some of her hair out of her face as she looked at the drinks, deciding that she would just get water and didn't even bother getting food since she had been at dinner before this whole event.
Logan started to head back towards her table whenever she decided to look up at the stands. "Maybe I should have sat up there," she mumbled to herself only to stop whenever she thought she noticed someone she actually knew. Logan thought she could just make out @Elsian Cox sitting in the stands but decided not to bother him. She assumed he was just waiting for someone anyway because why not.
The young Hufflepuff sat back at her seat sipping on her water as she watched the couples dancing. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself as she watched the other students. What was she supposed to do, stare at the table the whole time. Her bag was in the changing room and she hadn't brought a book or anything with her. She greatly regretted that at this point, she could be out here reading under the candle light and at least doing something slightly productive. She gently push some more hair out of her face, also regretting not having at least pulled her hair back a little bit.

Aaron was so happy when the two girls complimented the pitch. It seemed that they didn't know about his involvement, which made sense. It's not like the rumors around the school had included a roster of the six Blossom Board members. But the last thing on his mind was taking credit (this was his attitude towards most things EXCEPT Quidditch - when it came to his favorite sport, he would brag all day). "Thanks, guys, but don't worry about me. I came with a whole group of friends," he explained, referencing the rest of the team who had organized the event. "I actually can't stay long, I'm trying to use this event to meet a bunch of people." This was a true statement, but the more important thing he was doing by going around was making sure everyone was having a good time. He turned his eyes to look at this Dale Kurt that Annie called out to and saw someone in a very flamboyant suit. How interesting! As he was turning back to his Quidditch friends, though, he saw someone and his eyes lit up.
"Ah! I just saw someone I want to say hi to. If you guys'll excuse me," he said, offering his Quidditch friends one last smile. "I hope you have fun while you're here!" Aaron added, before turning away from them and rushing off into the crowd.
As he navigated through the growing mass of students, he took note of several faces. There was one guy who was wearing a ton of makeup (no judgement!) and there was a very pale girl who was wearing all white! And he saw Santario in the distance still snapping pictures by the entrance. He was sure that the developed pictures would show an incredible variety of apparel and formality when looking from one person to the next.
Aaron paused by a table he was passing when he realized Willow was there, bowing and offering her hand to none other than Breana! Well, that wasn't who she had come with. He very briefly wondered where Willow's date had gone. "Hey guys! You both look amazing!" he said, impressed especially by the huge ball gown that Breana was wearing. Willow looked really nice too, and the flowy dress she wore definitely screamed her personality. It matched with the whole fairytale and flower theme as well. "Have fun dancing! I'm sure we'll see each other later," he said with a smile, before walking off once more.
After navigating the crowd once more, the twelve-year-old eventually found himself near a tan Asian girl whom he knew as a friendly acquaintance. "Hey, Maria!" Aaron greeted, super excited to see the girl here. They had met in the first few months of school and bonded over their love of kimchi. It was nice to see his fellow Hufflepuff here and enjoying herself. She looked very nice in her flowy dress, but before he could comment on it, something else caught his attention. The chocolate smell of her drink made his eyes light up. "Oh, is that Yoohoo? Another favorite we have in common?" Aaron asked with a grin, adjusting the sunflower pinned to his suit jacket.

Cassie walked out from the changing room towards the main arena. When they entered the arena, the music blared and greet their ear nicely. Along the path on the ground, there's candle that lite align and elegantly. Cassie smile at those. When Cassie entered the Pitch, Lizzie already waiting for them.
Cassie smile and walk beside Lizzie. Upon seeing Cassie's outfit from the evening, Lizzie commented on it, saying how nice it look on them and asking what both of them should do first. The make up that Cassie done for the evening, bring out Cassie's green eyes even more. For their hair, Cassie let it how it should be. Their brown wavy hair, hang naturally.
Lizzie gave Cassie options, whether to get some food or dance first. From the distance, they saw some of the kids that Cassie interact during the game on the school ground that Cassie partook and Blake with his date. Cassie nodded their head, hoping Blake see that. "I think it would be wise if we get some food first. I skipped my dinner therefore i'm quite hungry at the moment"Cassie said to Lizzie but when Cassie fully entered the Pitch, above their head there's bubbles with candles that floating, giving a Great Hall vibe like.
"One moment"Cassie stated to Lizzie. After Cassie said that, they walk a beeline towards the LGBTQIAP table (which currently they are the member of the said group). Cassie look down at the table. There are a variety boutonnieres and ribbons also ribbons showing which houses the student sorted into.
Cassie hand hover above the color of their identity, they opted the option to take it or not since they too tired to explain to a lot of people (still a lot of people do it wrongly when interact with them, using she / her pronoun) about their choice of pronoun also did not want to make such a big deal about her sexuality.
Finally Cassie take the Pansexual ribbon and tied it around their left wrist. The ribbon itself are more and have vibrant color then the dress that Cassie wear for the night. Cassie walks towards Lizzie again, "Sorry for making you waiting,"Cassie uttered. "This is something I need to think it through"Added Cassie as they showed the pink-yellow-blue ribbon on their left wrist to Lizzie. Maria was once again distracted by her people watching when she heard a familiar voice. Its source stood in front of her in a plaid button-up shirt with a jacket that he didn’t quite fill out yet, paired with dark dress jeans. This was none other than Aaron Jones. He was a Hufflepuff boy she had met a while back when they bonded over a batch of kimchi her mother had sent her. She noticed a sunflower pinned to his jacket matched matched his black and yellow ensemble. “Hey! You look great!” Greeted the girl.
All night she spotted him talking to guest after guest, proud that he and his merry band of rule-breakers pulled off the event. The Yoohoo must’ve been his idea as well. She was currently on her fourth glass.
“Can’t say it’s a favorite but I definitely don’t hate it.” She laughed as she took another sip. The ball was in full swing now, and several more people had arrived. The chatter in the area blended together, music softly played and students flocked to the dance floor. Some people waltzed with their partners, others jammed out with their friends. There was also the innocent bystander like herself, and some people chose to sit. From a outside perspective, the ball looked like a good time. So far whatever horrible fate that was supposed to befall them that night had yet to manifest. Maria had to admit, it was fun to just relax and watch her peers. She turned to her friend.
“This ball is amazing! I can’t believe you guys were able to pull it off!” Was the compliment she gave the boy. “You should be proud.”

At Percival fruitless protest against the use of his special nickname, Hanako gave a cheeky smile and shrugged. " Awww, you love me~" he teased in a sing-song voice. He wondered if Percival was giving him amusing reactions on purpose but knowing his roommate, it wasn't his style to act angry. Mostly considering he is easily angered without doing much. Still, it was a cute enough reaction to know Hanako won't stop giving that nickname anytime soon.
Hanako took a quick investigation on the stranger that bumped into his friend and gave her a Chesire. He had absolutely no idea who she was. " No need to fret, little lady. Percival here looks and still looks as dandy as ever~". He dusted off invisible dust on Percival's shoulders, having fun with letting the girl think he was his date knowing it would mildly piss off Percival.
Percival asked what he was here for. To which, Hanako did not get to respond as the Little Lady offered her handkerchief to Percival, guilt laced in her tone. Did she think Percival was so fragile that a bump can cause him any injuries? Percival? Really?
He didn't know what a handkerchief could do but it was annoying to see her so upset over accidentally bumping into someone. And she was going to waste a good handkerchief on that? Unbelievable! He hid his annoyance well behind his chill facade. With a short-lived laugh, he interrupted the precious moment by saying "Woah, I'm kinda feeling the vibe that I'm being a third-wheel her-"
She stopped talking as he felt a soft thud behind him. His instincts kicked, his shoulders visibly responded to the sudden attack only to soften at a familiar voice. " And here I thought I was about to get singled out~" He grinned, and patted Althea's head. " Do you bring a book everywhere you go so you'd greet me as lovingly as you always did? Can't say I'm surprised to see you here though. Alone? "
It was pleasant to see his business partner/ ' friend ' around here. It brought a smile on his face that she had greeted him in a way that had somehow become an inside joke between the two. A reminder of the day they had made a deal to be friends. After she had disappeared, he wondered if the contract was over and they didn't have to bother each other anymore. He refused to say he was slightly upset about it and the lack of sleep he got from it was definitely not because of her.
He turned back Percival and the Little Lady and placed a hand on Althea's shoulder. "Oh dear, where are my manners~. Althea, meet Percival Rainwood, and Little Lady whose name I have never bothered enough to learn~" He introduced sweetly. " I'll fill you in on what's going on. These two bumped into each other and now she's kind enough to give him her handkerchief in case he got hurt. And you came in and saved me from being a third-wheel."
" Say, shouldn't you give me a handkerchief as well? Your book kinda hurt my head, you know " He faked a groaned, not bothering to hide the cheeky smile he wore. "
