The morning dew settled by the morning’s rain dawns on the grass like falling translucent petals as the winter transitions to the vibrant spring. Smudge shutteredy slightly, adjusting the hem of her warm leather jacket downwards to her waist to secure more coverage of its embrace. The day was quiet, most students choosing to spend their first weekend of spring outside or nuzzled between sheets of blankets in their dorm rooms. The token Ravenclaw regulars of the library sit in pacts with only books and small chatters spread between them, only loud enough to be considered background noise to Smudge’s mind.

With only her torn school bag hoisted over her high-held shoulders, Smudge climbed up the creaking stairs to the study room which had luckily not been reserved by another student today. She sets her bag roughly onto a table whilst letting her fingertips cascade over lines of paper to count how much homework she has incomplete, therefore her itinerary for today’s study. Smudge rolls her eyes, she was never one to care for grades. If anything she does the bare minimum within her lessons as the margin of her page fills with mindless doodles that take her filled mind off everything.

She slouches down to a cushioned chair as she unpacks her belongings. Her mind has already traced off far beyond where she is now, dreaming of her mother and father back home. Would they be proud of where she is? Skipping class? Missing homework? With a roll to her eyes, Smudge retrieves a quill from her backpack and begins to work on her weeks old homework. Her quill screeches and crackles across her page like an ember burning alight, making Smudge flinch with her each letter she writes. Just as she crosses out a misspelled word, the alerting sound of footsteps greet her from only a few feet away. Unslouching her posture and slandering her brown eyes, she ascends her gaze to see another girl seemingly similar to her age. Smudge’s eyes avert to her green tie to her prim dark hair, definitely one of those Slytherins with a trust fund and a promising future her family secured with the ministry.

“Hm? What’dya want?”

Getting towards the study room was a bit embarrassing. Is this space only reserved for Ravenclaws? Obviously not but by how plentiful the ravens occupied the space it pretty much was not a hyperbole or a exaggerated expression. Going towards the narrow path where certain tables were reserved for certain students who would ask for a reservation beforehand. She was one of them. Trying to get ahead of her studies she got her report card in her arms clutching it tightly it was a very light parchment which can fly away anytime. Perfect Os straight few E's as well. Very proud that she's doing well and putting the efforts. Not in a boastful way but knowing that she is trying really does set the tone on how she should treat her studies.

While she was walking around to find her spot unfortunately although she wouldn't have got lost a bit. Every nook and cranny of the room had been walked through with her black shoes. By chance she just found a shortcut was it luck? Nope not luck Angel was just good at memorization when it comes to play with mazes like these places.

Angel stopped holding her bag tightly. It seems like someone already was in her spot. Maybe the girl did not know? Well she did reserved the spot for her, countless other tables and somehow the whammy chose her's. Her distaste of confronting people was not for her definitely but maybe should gently let the person know it was for her. If the girl really liked this spot another table was empty in front where there was no reservation. To her own benefit and information she walked up slowly to get a closer look. A Gryffindor girl, who was maybe a first year same as her. She looked like someone who loved the outdoors, therefore Angel was less tense someone else loved the outdoors like her she remembered when she would spend many times outside she'd forgot to help out for dinner. Her mouth began to open but was interrupted.

“Hm? What’dya want?” the girl asked her seemly annoyed with her presence. Oh just great! Gryffindors can be a bit feisty and she just met one, calming down she decided to state her case. But in what way? She's a Slytherin and many assumptions can come. Which did not help at all when she herself looked like one of the few. Taking a sharp breath and went on.

"I believe your in my spot. Mind moving?" the words said was much deeper then she had planned in her head

"That could've been said better. What could I have done? It's been a long day it was my natural voice!"

It went south. Well for her anyways, who knows how the girl could've received it but knowing herself she knew what to say if things would go south. Plan A, if no compliance then simply leave, Plan B, if a reluctant yes was spoken then do your business and be out of her hair for the rest of the day, but with how things started it might be far fetched.

Smudge’s back curves in a lazy motion as further comforts herself into the chair, the worn wood groaning beneath her as it scratches against the ground harder. For the first time in her years, she had everything planned neatly laid for her on a silver platter. She’s not going to let some pristine pig-nosed Slytherin get into her own way and derail everything. Smudge keeps a roll to her disgruntled, brown eyes as she removes piles of scribbled parchment paper before where she‘d seated, revealing the blank worn table below.
“I don’t see your name on it?” She states plainly with a quick tongue. “Besides, who actually reserves these raggedy old room?” Smudge gives herself the privilege to let herself laugh in a low, hollow breath as her knuckles bounce against the hollow wood of the table. The floor cold stone floor beneath them seems to shake in a soft motion as her fingers stampede the wood in a mocking motion.

Her tall for her age figure unravels to a stand in order to intimidate the other young girl next to her as she looks down to address her pretty-faced companion’s presence. Her movements quick open to a more masculine-ised stance as she speaks in that same agitating voice. “You’ve got the library, the outside grounds, even that stupid common room with your very own aquatic view! — Or so I hear.” Smudge delivers to her whilst her eyebrows begin to furrow downwards. “But you want this table? The one that smells like expired butter bear and failed potion exams?” Smudge steps back in order to relieve the cold tension between her and the other girl. Clearly she’s let her mouth run dry before her mind could step in the way to stop her. It doesn’t matter, she affirms to herself as she tapers back a rogue piece of coiled brown hair behind her ear. She’ll just gave to leave… and it’ll be fine! Right?

Yeah just no. It seems like Angel will have to be a bit more cautious than she thought she had to be. Did not really want to receive the Gryffindor's name Angel stepped back a bit. Fine if neither her or she would have a good conversation then it was settled. Her bright red eyes scorched towards the girl. Many people would have a skewed view of people like her. Funny that girl does not know a thing about her at all.

"Fine with me." Angel said coldly

"Is that all you'd like to say? If that's all then I best be doing something worth my time." She added

"Aquatic view" from someone who has never seen the Slytherin common room. Angel now hold nothing back she really disliked this girl. Laughing from the thought it was very ridiculous. We stayed in the dungeons and it was very cold down there too. Angel betted at least 5 knuts the other common rooms were much better.

Leaning forward to grab her books and papers a little note was left, one that left her name exposed. Oblivious to the fact Angel just crossed her arms clutching the materials and went to the table in front from the table she was supposed to be in. But it was to be guessed weird stuff does happened. Angel never had any hatred or resentment towards anyone but this girl was different.

In all honesty she was stifling her laugh at how hard this girl was trying to act all tough. Shiver me timbers her foot! If anything Angel did not want her morning to be so well, horrid. Why does she have to act this way? But what was said and done was in the minutes passed. But she did not want to be pushed over. In her little way she did not care about having the last act or word, those were only reserved for desperate people. Angel only kept her cool.

A deep sigh releases from Smudges lungs as her eyes witness the girl move on to the nearing table. Thankfully, they wouldn’t be having a problem. She smirks, returning down to her seat as it screeches under her weight. If that girl wasn’t going to bother her, she’ll try her best to do the same.
Smudge returns her gaze back to her worksheet as she untucks her wand from her ear in a flicking motion. Her eyes squint as she tries to differentiate the spaces between words. Smudge never promised anyone literacy was her specialty. Her hands mask her face, reaching up into a sprawl as it reaches her coiled hair. A quiet sigh of air releases out of her lips as she promises isn’t going to let herself get frustrated, though that plan is quickly failing.

Smudge releases the tight bind her fingers were holding onto the quill flinging it across the table with quick speed. Out of the corner of her eye, the young girl could only make out the smallest strings of feather as it slid across the glass of the cheap ink holder. A yelp ruptures out of Smudge’s cadence as she forces a jerk to her body as she only narrowly escapes the ink. “A- Are you serious?”

The Griffindor girl could only watch as splatters of dark liquid stain through the parchment of her homework. Her fingers ball into a fist, she had lost not only her challenge but her short temper. “This is some... — UGH!” Her hands trace the remainders of the clean papers as she forces them into her bag, abandoning the ones she deems too filthy to salvage. With only a few whines, she hoists her bag onto herself with a hurried action, clearly trying to save herself from embarrassment from the other girl.

Her breath hitches as she scurries from the table. Under her breath you could trace the faint noise of muggle curse. Smudge reaches the door hastily, only the faint swing of the door to force shut. Her body shoves itself backwards under its weight as her scrambled limbs begin to numb faintly. Her head turns to the other girl rigidly before turning back. Smudge can’t do anything to save herself now, she needs to leave. Her hands meet the floor to propel herself upwards. Smudge quickens her movements as she attempts to allow her egress. “I - It won’t budge!”

Fine. If she was going to let her win then so it will be done. Angel couldn't have time to be arguing. It really was not her forte. at least no one objected and both won. Both had their own space and both parties knew. She continued to do her own affairs and errands, whatever needed to be done here. Ironically, she thought the girl would have left as well, following the same suit. But that was not the case for her. The lass if she were to mix her words, was satisfied. She could only have her gaze getting more heavier. Studying took a toll and doing arts was her way to unwind. Taking a swift hold on her bag, the parchment was soon raised with her dainty hands.

Now she commenced her painting. The subject was her, a self portrait. Shook her head, the study room was much better. The once unbeaten parchment was pulverised by getting scrunched to a mer ball. The room was much smaller. Silenced followed. This was strange what was going on? Perplexed she stopped her tasked and in a rush spilled her paint palette. In a coincidence it had closed itself, but the lid was stained. Better than leaving a horrid mark on the carpeted floors.

What was the Lioness doing now? Oh. Her view had shifted like a scene for a jumpscare. She was trying to get out. Easy enough. But the revelation was it was locked. Angel could laugh in her mind finding it amusing. Alohomora. The Gryffindor would find it much easier if she would make use of her own wand for it's convenience. But the words that were transmitted to her ears were proving to be a second hand embarrassment.

"It won't budge!" the girl said with dismay

"Of course it won't, it's locked, you are not using your wand Ms.--"

She can only cut herself off. The name needed was not applicable. It was not her business. Was she going to try to introduce herself too? Perhaps not. That was not on the Snake's mind or line of sight right now. Her priority was to assist the girl to leave and go someplace else. She could've done it herself but with an emotional outburst she would think, the girl was pressé. Angel can only shake her head with a astonished sigh. Does the girl really not know what to do?

Now she scurried along, tucking the chair and went side by side with the troubled Lion. This will be easier said than done.

"Angel Dayes, at your service." she smiled as her finger wavered to point towards her as she leaned in the tables.

Her tone was more smart as the word service ended with a hiss. Angel turned and grabbed her bag. Her hand circling to pick it. The bag was going to be inspected. As she unzipped the bag while the zipper moved, the Slytherin would be stunned to know what her view would be like. The wand was not there at all. Aspen wood and unicorn hair, 24'9 inches in length. She knew what it looked like practically memorized it from the handle to the wood. The spec of details in design too. It was not present. Missing? No she would not dare to imagine it. No, she left it at her dorm. This was getting more infuriating. As she was knelt down in one knee she looked up and closed her eyes as her lips closed together. Her face becoming more restrained. Irritated.

"I suppose you know the spell to unlock that closed door?" she said half heartedly as she soaked her words with irritation.

She stood up and brushed the dust off her robe. Turning towards the smokey eyed girl.

The ruffle haired girl’s eyes dart from the door to the “Angel “ fitted beside her. Breaking the cold stare, her eyes quicken upward to the blank ceiling above them. as if she’d need help from a Slytherin. The lankier child mutters intelligible sayings under her cadence, the self proclaimed angel doesn’t seem very televangelist to her. From the little she’s known from the school, she understands that their houses don’t necessarily fancy each other to say the least.
Smudge’s eyebrows furrow, her dark amber iris’ attract over to Angel in a glare. Short bitten fingernails grasp into the pocket of Smudge’s knee length trousers. Her mind flutters, in truth she hasn’t got a clue the spell she’s referring to. Out of quick instinct she hastens her tongue and clears her throat in a hurry. “‘Course I do, you think I’m daft or somethin’?”
Her breath hastens into a laugh as a scruffed free hand hastens onto her waist. “Do YOU know it, my guardian angel?” The tease reeks with the crude taste of insecurity from Smudge’s side, however she’d do anything to avoid the other girl knowing the truth about her poor arcane ability and tardiness within classroom hours.
Her mind struggles to churn back to anecdotes in her classes, she’d much rather mindlessly splendour in the limited free hours she has outside of her education. Was the spell in transfiguration? Charms? A deep breath follows into her lungs as demands escape her lips. “Or should we make it a competition? I never lose.” She chuckles, knowing there’s no certainty she’ll ever get the chance to win.

With the many remarks and perhaps irritation she could gather from the lion. No, she was completely oblivious. Now what if she could not differentiate between spells in charms or transfiguration. This girl was beyond hopeless. But what stuck her was how her personality was just reckless and chaotic that knows no bounds ever. Angel to her dismay was not in any kind of mood to be competitive. But this Gryffindor seemed adamant about this. But was she really that hyper? She should know, her problem right now was trying to get out, perhaps she should direct her attention to that instead of wanting to play a game.

"No, I do not at all think your daft, however knowing the basic spells should be a given as a first year at Hogwarts." she said

With her eyes turning away from the girl, she did thought of teaching her at some point. Her view changed completely. That could be an advantage. But with the current predicament their in, it would be viewed as their chances are slim in getting out of the study room. Of course she knew it. That part made her cringed. She was appalled to know that the girl even asked her. If she knew she wouldn't be asking and stalling and go for her wand and recite the spell. It would help them greatly.

"I do. It's Alohomora. The Unlocking charm. Used to open doors or windows." she said with a sly tone

It intrigued her that the girl was only trying to make it to a game. It was not. Yet her own itch to have a bit of fun made her compelled to even agree but she was exhausted already, the heat is getting to her. But having to lighten up was fine to her anyway. It was about time she took a upbeat in making things a bit lively. She loved fun.

"What game are you proposing?" she asked with a pint of curiosity

"I'd rather teach you the spell than play games, you have your own wand with you, I don't." she said with a bit of nonchalant tone, the aloof and airy voice lingered in the space.
