She greeted every student that entered, and spoke to her, "Good morning," She would respond to them and motion for them to join wherever they felt comfortable.
Hjørdis picked up the second piece of parchment. She knew who she wanted to write to but she was not sure what to actually say. Elaine Pendrast was very similar to her in some ways. They did not actually say everything out aloud and kept a lot of their thoughts internalised. It was a little hard for her to write to basically an older version of herself but she decided to give it a go nonetheless.
Taking the purple ink, she dipped her quill into it and started to write.
She glanced over the letter once more before nodding, satisfied. It will do. Elaine will understand everything she wanted to convey from it, there was no need for further words. She could only hope that the fellow head of house actually took a break.Dear Tante,
It has been a while since we found time to sit together and simply drink tea. Muirenn asks about you every time I write to her. She would like to invite you around for dinner at a time that is suitable for you. I am not sure I can handle being there, however, so I may just have to leave you both to it. However, I do believe we need a good catch up - it has certainly been a while.
I am writing to you today with the hope of inspiring students to spend a few moments expressing themselves. I honestly do not know if this will help at all. However, after everything that has happened, they need a break - and a way to express themselves.
I hope you manage to find some time for yourself between teaching DADA and managing Gryffindor. We both know that you too could use a break - we also both know that you will not take one. However, I do hope this letter will, at the very least, has forced you to take a few moments for yourself.
Love,
Nora
Hjørdis waved it a little in the air to allow it to dry before she put it on the pile, on top of Zahid's letter. As she did so, she saw something from the corner of her eye. She quirked an eyebrow, wondering what the dhampir near her was even doing. Well, that was until the piece of paper landed... on her head. Blinking, Hjørdis took it from her head and saw it was a letter addressed to her. Ah... She looked back up to see Nico, reading a book... Upside down? Oh, well she was certainly unaware that the Dhampir could read books upside down, "Miss Shymane, why don't you read us a few paragraphs?" She asked, waiting to see Nico's response as she actually attempted to read the book.

Mildred wasn't sure what prompted this change- recently she was showing up in the library more and more. It reminded her a lot of the start of the school year when all she did was hide stay in the library for endless hours, then suddenly she started doing errands and actually explored the school. It just might have been one of her greatest decisions by far- instead of looking at the great lake every day from the windows inside the library, she actually went there to see it in person... even though the first time she went there hadn't been the best- still, she still remembered the sight of nothing but water in front of her... it was like nothing else matter but her and the lake in front of her.
Stepping inside the Library, Mildred was surprised to see one of the sections transformed into some sort of station- she quickly looked around for any sort of explanation when her vision landed on a large sign saying "#SendALetterDay" Interesting... she didn't know there was a day to celebrate something like this, she wondered if there was a day for alpacas or something like that- It would be fun if she was able to celebrate Chicken or rather a stuffed animal day, that would be fun.
Interested, she walked towards the station and saw it was piled with; paper, quills, ink, and some other supplies she has never seen. Letters were never... Mildred's favorite activity, she's never really written an official letter that she had wanted to write. Thinking back to it, she has written so little letters that she could count the number with only one of her hands- all the letters she has written to this point were to her parents, simple greetings or if she needed something. Perhaps, today would be the day to change this- who knows? maybe writing letters could be her new hobby. She picked up a piece of paper, a quill, and looked towards some of the supplies she has never seen obviously interested. She picked up one of the pens that contained some sort of sparkly paper? inside and shook it watching all the sparkly things inside shake- she shrugged, she would find a way to use this.
Carrying her supplies, she looked for a place to sit- there were a few unrecognizable students sitting in one of the tables with Professor Jensen and a few students sitting privately. she saw a few... bean-shaped things lying on the ground and went over to it. She bent down and touched the bean things and loved the texture of them- she gently hit it and it made a satisfying crunch like... little tiny foam marbles clinking on each other. She decided to sit down on it and it felt like she was sinking in the deep sea- struggling to get up from whatever the bean trap was she sighed, whatever the contraption was it just wasn't for her.
She walked towards the table with a few students already there and picked a chair towards the end, saying a quick "Good morning" to everyone there before she sat down. Finally placing her supplies on the table, she got ready to write when she realized she didn't know who to write too... when the image of her friend, Ross flashed in her mind and she realized that she hasn't seen her friend in a while. Happy with her choice of person, she started writing the letter.
She smiled at the use of her nickname for her huffle friend, Moss although she crossed it out deciding that she wasn't sure if she should... really use it, it was kind of silly after all. She picked up the pen containing the sparkly paper inside and uncapped it and pressed it on the paper, she gasped at the glittery dot it left behind- in her state of excitement of the pen she placed a few dots on the paper on accident. She lastly used the pen to sign her nickname from the boy.Dear MossRoss,
Hello! I hope you’re doing well whenever you get this letter… I haven’t seen you around lately! Well I mean other than in class… and stuff… We should meet up soon or something, that is if you want! Of course… you don’t have to but uhm. I hope you’re doing well in classes… you probably are who am I kidding? I hope you’re eating meals and sleeping?
If you can’t tell, I don’t write letters often… uhm… how are you doing? Uhm don’t be a stranger!
Smiling at her letter- she was happy with it and hoped that Ross would be happy with it also, looking back up she noticed one of the students sitting at the table... reading a book upside down, quite curious she flipped her letter upside down and attempted to read it realizing that it wasn't the easiest thing to do, she placed her letter back down and thought of who to send her next one too.

After finishing his grading the evening before, Zahid planned to take some time for himself this morning and relax for a while. But before he could sit down with his cat and a good book to read, he would need to decide which new book to start reading as he had finished Embracing Defeat yesterday. And he was in the mood to read something new so it could not be a book from his collection which meant a visit to the library. It had been far too long since he had stepped foot into the Hogwarts library, rarely having found the time so he was almost more eager to visit the library than he was to actually read a new book.
However, he did not actually make it far enough into the library to get lost between the shelves before noticing the writing corner had set up. Now curious he made his way over to the floating #SendALetterDay. (Was that Herodotus' influence?) He supposed he could join in, he owed Antonio and Constanza a letter at the very least. And had he not been contemplating writing a letter to Caradoc? Despite working at the same workplace it was difficult to find the time to meet and catch up.
Offering a general “Good morning.” to his colleague and the few students that were already diligently writing, Zahid found himself hesitating a moment before joining Professor Jensen at one of the big tables. He would have preferred a more quiet corner but he followed her example to be visible. Picking up a piece of parchment and deliberating a moment over the quills, he began to write the first letter.
It felt strange, writing a letter in such an open space and a letter to someone who could theoretically walk into the room he was writing in, no less. He was unsure how in-depth he should write about the book and was almost glad that the piece of parchment he picked seemed to be on the smaller side and he simply had no space to get too far into detail – he did not want to bore Caradoc, after all. Not that he would consider the topic boring but he did not know how engaging his friend would find reading about a book.
Looking up from his finished letter and spotting the Head of Slytherin again, he added a post-script to the letter as her presence reminded him of the stack of books that were sitting in a corner of his office in preparation to be delivered to the man. He had intended to hand him the books himself but as he had not yet found the time (or occasion) he would simply have to ask an house-elf to deliver them for him.
Setting the letter aside to dry, he contemplated if he should write another or if he should go find that book he originally came to the library for.
ReducioCaradoc,
I hope this letter finds you well. This SendALetterADay event that Professor Jensen is hosting, seemed like a good idea. With everything being busy and especially with all the dangers that currently haunt this school and the British Magical world, it has been hard to find the time to catch up and you had asked me about the books I read, so I thought it might be an idea to use this occasion to send you a letter instead. (On the note of all those dangers, I have not recalled or learned anything new.)
I know the current situation is precarious but remember to take breaks and some time to yourself, though judging from your dancing act a few days ago you have that well enough in hand (hopefully). I have spent my free time lately rereading “Embracing Defeat”by John W. Dower. It's a book about the US-American occupation of Japan – it was the book I pulled out when I picked a random book off my shelves. It is an interesting read though the book is purely non-magical, so I do not know if you would find it as interesting.
I need to see if I can find my corresponding Magical history book covering the same topic behind the scenes from that side. But as I wanted to read something new in between, I visited the library which is where this nice writing corner is set up, so I suppose I have found a silver lining to not finding said book. I really need to write back to Benghazi for them to send the rest of my books, I keep forgetting. This school keeps us even busier than I expected.
But enough I suppose I will end this here as I am running out of parchment for this letter.
Regards,
Zahid
PS: Oh, that reminds me, I will send you the books you wanted later today. Ditzy will drop them off in your office.ReducioOOC Note: The list of books in question(in no particular order):

Wren was tired of studying in her dorm. There were too many people there and she needed to seclude herself to get her homework done. So, deciding to go to the library, she picked up her books and headed down the staircase, through the hallways finally arriving at her destination.
She walked into the library and saw, in a secluded corner of the room, a banner that said: #SendALetterDay. She saw that parchment, quills, ink and any other utensil that you could use for writing was provided there and she saw that the current Flying professor and head of Slytherin was there, Hjørdis Jensen. She decided to give it a shot and walked over to the table.
There were a couple of people there she recognized. May Moonstar, the vice-president of the M.M.M. Club and Nico Shymane, a Slytherin prefect, a girl she had never met but had observed from afar. “Oh, that seems creepy” not realizing that she said that out loud until it was too late. She blushed then quickly put her hand over her mouth and scurried over to the table to grab some parchment. She decided she was going to write a letter to her father. She was going to see what he thought about the new baby due.
Dearest father,
Today is #SendALetterDay and I wanted to check in on you. See how you were fairing with the news of the new baby coming. Are you excited that it’s going to be a boy? I sure am excited that I’m going to have a baby brother, and honestly, if it was a girl I wouldn’t care either way. I’m just so excited that I get a sibling. Eleven years and I will finally have another person to converse with when I am home besides you and mom. Do you think he will be a wizard too? Anyways how are you doing besides that? How’s work?
I love and miss you so darn much. Give my best regards to mom,
Your bear,
Wren

My God was this table getting crowded. Professor Masoud had just taken a seat in the table, and so had May's long time friend, Mildred and the Co-leader of the M.M.M club, Ween caster. She smiled at Wren.
And just waved at Mildred, before writing her letter.
When at last she had finished, she muttered, "Not bad..." and put it in her letter pile.
It said:
Dear Vanny,May Teddy bear.
You know what? I'm a witch! I was invited to Hogwarts! I'm saying you this because I'm sure mum and dad didn't tell you because of you know what. Yeah, I'm still not talking to them. And they are still not talking to me. But it won't last long, or would it? I know, I said this like a hundred times and it never happened since I was nine...
Never mind that. I was sorted into Hufflepuff. The house where they give ginger cookies, make friendship bracelets and love plants. You know, totally me!
You were a Horned serpent, right? If so, that would be Slytherin here.
How's it going at St. Mungo's? I hope there isn't a lot of sick people. You know what I feel about them.
I want lemon drops when I come back home. Consider this a present for your lil Teddy wopckins.
Lots of love,
Well, that wasn't that bad. A simple letter for her simple sister. Now, 3 to go.

Letter to father & mother
Alexis was enjoying herself by reading in her favourite place : The Library
She just finished one book about magical creatures and was trying to find another one to read. She came across a small section in the library, it looked different. She was pretty sure she has explored all part of the library, except the restricted area of course. They must have just set it up.
She scanned her eyes through the area, the first thing she noticed was the big floating sign near the wall, the read “#SendALetterDay” Curious, she walked closer. She noticed the writing supplies on the table, there are big table with multiple chair and separated desks, probably for the sake of privacy. There are quills, ink bottles and fresh parchments.
Writing letters to loved ones? Interesting.
She walked toward the writing materials with in a confident stride, she grabbed the necessary supplies and sit at a private booth. She thought about what should she write and who should she write to.
Mother and Father.
Dear my beloved Father & Mother
Hello Mother and Father. How are things back home? Is it quite and peaceful or lonely without me, Arthur and Anthony there to give you headache? I know you’ve heard that I’ve been sorted into Ravenclaw, but I am going to mention it anyway. Hogwarts is amazing just like you’ve told me, father. I heard about cousin Florence. You have to tell me about Beauxbatons sometime, Mother. I assure you that I will be home on holiday, no need to worry. I have passed your message to Arthur and Anthony, they told me what they’ve done. I must admit it sounded just like them, you shouldn’t e surprised.
People here are nice. I have made friends. Everything is going well. I’m sorry that I haven’t send you any owl, I was a little bit busy getting settled in. I promise I will write you guys more often.
Truth be told, I am writing to you in a library. Do you know they have converted a section in the library into a place where we can write letters? I think this is not a bad idea at all.
I think I’m doing well at Hogwarts so far. I got an O in a Charms assignment. I’d say that counted as a good start. I promise I will try to keep it up.
Sincerely,
Alexandria Asterion

She returned the greeting from her colleague, who she was rather pleased to see here. "Good Morning, I didn't expect to see you here today but I have this for you," She responded, as she offered him the letter from herself addressed directly to him. It was a little odd hand delivering it but since he was here - and Nico had already started this - she may as well.
Hjørdis looked down at the letter, after she was done smirking at Nico's upside book, and unfolded it. Her eyes scanned the letter. There was a hint of surprise in her eyes and a small smile tugging on the edges of her lips that 'don't smile often'. Apparently she had a heart? She would deny such a thing if asked but it appeared it was pointless. The facade and reputation she had built for the past ten years was quickly unraveling in front of everyone. The real Hjørdis was shining through, after so long. She had a heart, whether or not she admitted it, and people were just beginning to notice.
Hjørdis took a little while to write her letter. In all truth, she was not sure how much she ought to actually say about herself. However, she decided to open up a little. It appeared that the child would require it.Dear Miss Shymane,
I recall the event in question. It warms that heart of mine that still knows how to smile to hear that you enjoyed my cupcakes. Perhaps I ought to bake some more soon. I know of Hugh Lowe, he is a fine example of a gentleman - or perhaps a knight. Whilst our interaction was brief, I recall the boy in question. He is a sweet child and I am pleased to hear that you had a friend like that.
Being 'different' can be hard when you're growing up. I am sorry that you felt treated that way, when you really should not have. You are a person, you are not alone and you are enough just the way you are, Nico Shymane. Whilst I cannot relate to exactly how you felt, let me tell you a story of when I was a child.
Children - and adults alike - always associate white hair with old age. As a child, I was teased for it and it bothered me. Do you know what made them stop? I stopped letting their words affect me. Being confident in yourself shields you. I realised one day that they were wrong and accepted myself the way I am.
Whilst it might not be the same, be confident in yourself. You are a smart, kind, good person. Nothing anyone says or does will change that, unless you allow them to. I sincerely hope that one day, you will view yourself as the fine lady that you aspire to be like.
For now though, perhaps focus on practicing your levitation spells. They require a little more concentration and focus than you perhaps exhibited. I would rather not receive a papercut on my face - or worse, eyes.
Kind Regards,
Professor Jensen
P.S. I'll fill the common room with cupcakes tomorrow.
She folded the parchment, sending it directly towards her in a far more elegant and refined manner. The page would land on the table in front of Nico, without actually hitting her or landing awkwardly on her.

Riannon had found her way to the library hoping to find a book about Herbology, specialised in local plants and their uses. In fact, the young witch was searching for new means to trick her brother, nothing mean but malicious nonetheless.
However, when she made her way into the library her plans changed after her eyes caught sight of a large sign with "#SendALetterDay" written on it. She also saw different people sitting at the area including a few of her professors whom she have not really connected with yet. And there, Riannon thought that she had not written letters for a while despite having her parents nagging her to write more, so she made her way to the area grabbing the glitter glue and other muggle stationary. She had never used those before and she was very eager to try them out.
With a big smile on her face Riannon began to write her "beautiful" letter to her parents.

However, as it was the first time that the girl was using glitter she finished with more glitter on herself and the table than on the letter. Oh well, she will do better the next time.Dear Mom and Dad,
I am finally writing to you. Everything is going great at Hogwarts. I love my uniform and I think that the yellow of Hufflepuff goes very well with my hair.
The castle is as big and beautiful as your tales mentionned it. However, the stairs are very tricky to handle. One morning I almost fell down. I was yawning and the stair moved just when I put my foot on the first step. Don't worry though, now I always keep my eyes wide open before going up and down stairs.
Also, don't believe anything that Magnus told you, he was the one who started it. You can believe your nice little girl.
Anyway, I hope you are doing well and that daddy's leg doesn't hurt him anymore. I miss you and I would be very happy to receive a care package with mom's homemade cookies.
With all my love, Riannon xxxxxx

Letter to my favourite cousin
Alexis made her way back into the library. She has new idea for the letter she was going to write. Writing letter is far more fun than she has ever imagined. Kinda fun sharing things about me to people who I actually care about.
Alexis went straight to the writing materials, she picked out the same materials as she previously did, a quill, a bottle of black ink and a new parchment. She thought about who she was going to write a letter to and immediately thought of Florence, her favourite cousin. They were really close. Before she came to Hogwarts, the pair was rarely seen without one another. Even when Florence has to went back to France, Alexis would try to floo herself to the Beauchamp’s Chateau alone. Her mother was furious but she let her stay there anyway.
Dear Florence Beauchamp,
Hello cousin! How are you? How is Beauxbatons? My parents sent me an owl. Congratulations! Next time you come by, you have to tell me everything.
I miss you dearly cousin. We haven’t seen each other in so long. I have a lot of things to share with you. I know I’m going to tell you this again in person but bear with me. I have been sorted into Ravenclaw! You know, the house with an eagle, the blue one. It seemed like you have the right prediction again, but of course, none of us were surprised. I wish you were here with me, not everyone can tolerate me as long as you can. You know? It’s good to finally be here with my brothers. I have made new friends, but worry not! No one has replaced you yetbut you going to have to try harder than before now if you don’t want to lose the position as my favourite person.
Your favourite cousin,
Alexis Asterion

I was going to the library in order to work on my Transfiguration homework. I was really not enthusiastic about it. At the beggining of the year, I wanted to take part of every course as I thought it would be fun to learn how to use magic. However, I learn soon enough that Transfiguration needed to be concentrate and precise. I was too impatient to take time to think about my spell and about the form I wanted to give to my object.
I was going to the library because I had to find information about the next spell we will study. By walking, I couldn't even remember the name of it. This is why, as I enterd the library I was quite annoying by myself. I then discovered an unusual crowd in a corner of the library. The librarian didn't seem to be annoying about it which is why I supposed that it was an event organised by a teacher.
I identified a sign with "#SentALetterDay" which informs me about what was going on here. As I found this activity waaaay more funny than my homework, I decided to step by. I needed to write a letter to my parents. I saw our flying professor who probably organised this activity and said hello to her.
Then, I was not sure where to start writing. I didn't know anyone in this place but it was not my type to stay by myself. I was not Alex ! I decided to sit by another lonely girl who seemed to be in Hufflepuff since she had the yellow badge. I said hi to her and I started to write my letter.
I proofreaded my letter carefully and smiled. I was satisfied about it.Dear Mum and Dad,
It is my great pleasure to write this letter to you today. I have been sorted in Ravenclaw. I am not sure it suits me well, but I will try to make my house pride to have me. Maybe all of this is because of my curiosity ? Or maybe, I became creative thanks to Lauren. Anyway, I am perfectly able to fit anywhere you know it, so don't worry about me.
Besides that surprise, everything is going fine in Hogwarts. I don't see Alex much which disappoints me a little bit because I can't hoax her. I feel like she is avoiding me sometimes. I don't understand why, she is perfectly able to get problems way worst by herself than what I can do to her.
But anyway. I can see Lauren quite often since we are in the same house. However, I try to do everything by myself and it is a success I think. I don't want to be Lauren's little annoying sister. I want to be Riley Swan the red haired girl who spreads joy and enthusiasm.
I miss you a little bit and I am glad to see you in a few weeks now.
I love you
Riley
