Lost AGAIN?!?!?
@Cassie Jiang!!!4/13/26Why was it that any time Rosie got lost, she somehow managed to find her way back to the Library? She was cursed with both clumsiness and the lack of directional intelligence, therefore she was prone to getting hurt while she had no clue where she was or how to get to where she was going.
Today was no exception, as she'd been trying to find the closest path to the Owlery to send a letter, and she had somehow wandered back to her favorite place in the whole entire castle. The Library truly was her favorite place, with books and knowledge everywhere. It was quiet, peaceful, and the perfect place to go after a long, hard day of classes.
But she did not want to be there at this very moment, as she still had a letter to send. Regardless, she didn't want to look like an idiot by just walking in and walking back out, so she went over to the shelves to grab a book. She began searching for what she'd like to read that day, and spotted someone that she recognized.
It was Cassie, the amazing person who'd set up the Early Spring Tea Party! She looked gorgeous as ever, and Rosie was happy to see her.
"Hi, Cassie! How are you today?" she asked, trying to tuck the envelope she was holding under the book she had grabbed, so it didn't look like she was in the wrong place, despite the fact that she very much was.
"Find anything good to read? I think that this book looks pretty cool, but I'll still have to read it to find out!" she said, gesturing at the fantasy novel she had in her hands.
She was quite surprised at the fact that she was lost(that wasn't new) but uninjured. It was normal for her to trip, slide, fall, any and all of the above, even when she was already dealing with being lost. It was good, though, that she had managed to not get any bruises!
"Ah!!!" she said. Well, that was speaking too soon, as she'd just managed to trip over a rug. How did she keep managing to do stupid things like that?
"Ouch...don't worry, I'm fine!" she said, looking up at Cassie as she rubbed her side, which had taken the impact of the fall. She didn't want anyone to think she was badly hurt or anything, because she really wasn't, just very, very clumsy.
Lost AGAIN?!?!?
It is Monday, which means Cassie would have to take classes again. Cassie isn't feeling bad towards listening lectures for hours, since she finds it interesting to take notes, learn new knowledge and review them after class. But anyway, lessons means more stress and tiredness.
Anyway, Cassie is back at the library after lunch, doing some studies before her lessons in the afternoon. She takes her note parchments and a notebook for organized knowledgde. Shejust had History of Magic this morning, a subject that is boring to most but interesting for Cassie, since she has a great memory of numbers. Besides her academics and other hobbies, what Cassie is most proud of are her memory of numbers and her sense of direction -- she seems to be able to create a map in her mind whenever she goes to a new place.
Just as she puts down her quill for a minute of rest, she hears someone calling her name. She looks up, and sees Rosalyn Willows, a girl who Cassie met in her spring tea party. The girl seems to always be happy and seeing her smile can make Cassie happy at once.
'Hi Rosie!' she says, in a cheerful voice. 'Fancy seeing you here! That seems like an interesting novel!' Cassie says as she sees the colourful cover of the book. 'Let me think of some interesting books I've read....' just then, Rosalyn trips over the rug on the floor and falls before Cassie could grab her. She quickly gets up. Cassie walks to the girl in a worried look. Are you alright Rosie?' she asks as she looks down to see if the girl is injured, giving a glance at her stack of books.

@Cassie Jiang CASSIE!!!4/13/26"Oh, yeah, I'm fine. You'd be surprised by how often that happens to me. It just seems as if I've been cursed with clumsiness since birth!" Rosie said, continuing to rub her side. She could already feel the bruise forming, or perhaps bruises, she could never tell how many there would be.
"Back to what you were saying before that...I hope it is pretty interesting, since I need something good to read right now." Rosie said, hoping that nobody but Cassie had seen her epic fall on the floor.
"Please though, continue! Interesting books?" she said, prompting her (hopefully) friend to continue with what she was saying. Rosie really loved book talk, especially with those who liked to read as much as she did.
Ever since she was very little, she’d always enjoyed reading. It brought her a lot of joy and peace, the way that books allowed her to leave reality, even if only for the duration of the story, and be brought to a whole other world full of excitement.
Then, her side began hurting again. She really needed to find a way to fix her clumsiness, since it seemed to be rather persistent. Perhaps a potion, or maybe a spell? No, she doubted those would work. Alas, it seemed as if it’d remain forever.

'Don't say that...' Cassie says as Rosie talks about her clumsiness, 'you are definitely not cursed or something. When I was young, I loved running around. I ran around the garden of my house, ran up and down the streets. I also played with my toy broom. I had countless bruises on my legs, around two to three new ones every day! My parents had to apply potions to me every evening. But I seldome hurt myself now. So what looks like clumsiness might just be a sign of talent in sports and I promise, it will get much better as you grow up!'
Smiling, Cassie listens carefully as the Slytherin girl changes the topic back to new books. 'Let me think... I haven't read much stories during the past few months since I was catching up with my lessons. But I used to enjoy the Tales of Beetle the Bard, that's classic for wizards and witches. And...' she thinks hard, 'oh, during my stay in China, I read some muggle novels. Science Fictions is the name of the muggle genre. Basically, it's some novels setting in their future. It is interesting, especially seeing that they are hoping to fly, travel through time in hundreds of year later-- those are things we can do now!'

4/13/26"Oh, a toy broom! That sounds like quite a fun toy. I've never played with one, growing up in the Muggle world and all, but I have heard of them before!" Rosie said after listening to Cassie's story. It sounded quite fun, but she understood the whole bruises everywhere thing.
"When I was a child, I think about 2, I was walking around all the time, and constantly bumping into things or falling over. My parents would always joke about it, and it's been a family thing ever since!" she said, laughing a bit at the memory.
"I sure hope it will, Cassie!" she said to the girl's remark about it getting better eventually.
"Oh, I've heard of science fiction, believe me! It's not my absolute favourite genre, but I do love it!" Rosie said.
"Time-travel? Is that really something that we can do?" she asked, suddenly very curious as to if wizards had that ability. It sounded quite cool, and she'd love to learn how to do so, if she could.
Lost AGAIN?!?!?
Hearing that the girl is a muggle-born, Cassie is a bit surprised. 'Oh! I never realized that you were a muggle-born witch. I always think the fact that wizards and witches can be born in muggle families is amazing! Then you must be familiar with science fictions then!' Cassie is always interested in the Muggle world, their culture, their transportation, their entertainment and even their education. 'You are a first year right?' Cassie recalls, 'have you gotten used to the magic world?'
Cassie always thinks that it requires extra effort to get familiar with Hogwarts life for muggle-born students than for the rest, thus, muggle-born students need to be respected just as the rest. She doesn't understand why some pure-blood students dislike them.
'It is natural for young children to bump and fall.' Cassie giggles as she hears Rosalyn's experiences. 'And that is part of the reasons why they are cute!'
'Hmm, I read from History of Magic books that we used to have time-turners, small necklace like things that can do time travelling. But I never had access to any, so I am not sure. I know that some of the unspeakables in Ministry of Magic study about time, but I never get to know the details.'

"Oh, yeah, I am! And I'm glad that you find it amazing, because I know a lot of people who don't...anyways, it is pretty nice. I don't know how it works, exactly, but I'm just glad that the magic showed up in me!" Rosie said, thinking over how Muggle-Borns were a thing in the first place. Maybe she had some sort of gene? She'd learned about that in her school before Hogwarts. Or perhaps she had a magical relative way way back?
"Yeah, I guess so! I do love little kids, I find them so sweet." she said, and it was true. She'd babysat occasionally before, and especially loved taking care of babies or very young toddlers.
"Interesting! That must be a pretty magical necklace then, if it can help with time travel!" she said, thinking over what it could look like. Perhaps sort of like a pocket-watch, but for a neck? Regardless, she was sure that it'd look really cool.
"Random question, but I don't know much about you. Like, basic stuff. What's your favourite colour? Animal? Food?" she asked, wanting to get to know her friend a bit more, especially if they were going to keep getting closer over time.
Lost AGAIN?!?!?
'Aww...' Cassie feels sorry for Rosie hearing that she has met some people who act badly towards muggle borns. 'don't listen to whatever those potato heads say. It's total nonsense. We are witches and wizards and we're all the same!' Cassie exclaims. 'If you ever need help setting some bewitched snowballs at those rude people or you'd like to enjoy them dancing for you, I'm the perfect fit.' Cassie giggles, 'I am part-goblin, and I know wandless magic. I can set them a spell,' Cassie says as she waves her hand in the air, as if she is performing a spell, 'and if they suspect it is me, I can go 'huh? do I even have a wand?' ' she giggles some more, controlling the volume of her voice of course, as she acts out shrugging and exaggerates her voice.
Rosie then asks Cassie her basic likes. 'Oh I nearly forget about these! I like blue best, partly because it's Ravenclaw's colours but my parents said I was interested in blue things since my birth.' she pauses, 'favourite animal... well a pygmy puff I suppose, here!' she says as she takes Wisdom down her left shoulder. It is quite small and hard to notice at first site. 'they are not as helpful as owls but they make great company!'
'As for food... I'm not picky but I'd say I really love icecream, vanilla and oreo crunch are my favourites, but I love other flavours too! What about you?' Cassie asks.

Lost AGAIN?!?!?
Beautiful Banner by the amazing Dido Bleaklane!
@Cassie Jiang 4/13/26
Rosie almost lost it when she heard Cassie refer to those who doubted her magical abilities because of her blood status as 'potato heads'. Though she really did appreciate the sentiment of everyone being one and the same. Magical ability has nothing to do with who your parents are, and everything to do with who you choose to be.
"Well, thank you so much for the kind offers! I'll bear that in mind..." she said, already debating if magical dancing or snowballs would be helpful at all in her situation, though she doubted it. At least, at the moment.
"Part Goblin? Wow, I didn't even realize that about you! And that is a pretty good plan, just play dumb!" she said, surprised at the fact that she didn't even know something that big about her friend.
"Blue is a very pretty colour. And Pygmy Puffs are super fun! I've been debating on getting one for a little while now, but I doubt I will, sadly. Who knows though, anything could happen!" she said, looking at Cassie's adorable little pet.
"I love ice cream! Cookies and Cream is my favourite flavour. I do also love pizza, and soups are just nice and homey." she said, her stomach growling slightly at the tasty thought of the cheese dripping in her mouth. Ahhh, perhaps later.
Lost AGAIN?!?!?
Cassie smiles when Rosie thanks her for her offer. She is not serious by saying those, but she will certainly not hesitate to help her friend if she is ever insulted. If it really happens, she will probably ignore the school rules and put up a fight immediately.
'Yep, I am not full human.' Cassie says when Rosie is surprised by the fact that Cassie is part-goblin. 'Besides wandless magic,' she adds, 'I know metal-crafting from a young age! I can make badges and other things myself!' she says proudly. 'You see, sometimes I get laughed at because of my status. But it's not that bad, cuz I know many skills those who laugh at me don't!'
'Thank you!' Cassie replies with a wide grin when Rosie compliments about blue and pygmy puffs. 'It's up to you! If you really get a pygmy puff one day, maybe we can swap them!' Cassie has seen many students in Hogwarts swap pets for a while, but she has never tried that. She takes Wisdom down from her shoulder and puts it on her left palm. 'This is Wisdom.' she introduces, 'Wisdom, this is Rosie.' she says to her pygmy puff, smiling.
'I love them too!' Cassie's mouth is watering from all these talking about food. Just then, she realizes how long they've been talking near the entrance of the library. They must seem weird. 'How about going for a walk outside?' she suggests, 'is there anywhere you'd like to go to? I need a walk after sitting for so long.'
@Rosalyn Willows Rosie!! probably time for her to send her owl? (it's up to you tho!)![]()
