Right, respect, if it is not there it is only for a short time.

No credit for being right and all for having a go, arguing, questioning (yourself and the group) and having a guess as to how others are guessing.

We ask for honesty, intelligence, and an appreciation of surprise.

Society for Thought, Interpretation and silent reasoning

About Us

It's a community for witches and wizards who don't shy away from asking and being asked the hard questions about life and... general things.

We seek the tricky questions, the knotty problems, the paradoxes, and the big, deep, knowledgable ones on the difference of our perspective.

It's only you; there are no tests, no grades, no right and no wrong.

Just questions, understanding and curiosity.

We play each week with 4 thoughtfully prepared questions:

• A Philosophical Question - seems simple, but tends to divide and conquer, especially in the comments sections.

• A Moral Dilemma - both sides have their price, none of them comfortable.

• A Social Insight Prompt - A short, personal, honest response.

• A Riddle - logical and quite deceiving if your not careful.

You can comment as publicly as you like.

No prize for being right and all for thinking and challenging (yourself, your fellow participants), as well as for having an idea on how others think.

Sample Challenge

1. Philosophical Question

Would you rather be respected or understood?

Response: Understood; for true respect without it is temporary.

2. Moral Dilemma

You can save one stranger or 5 acquaintances- which do you choose and why?

Response: The stranger; there is nothing to be said for the ease of understanding versus the effort that should accompany value.

3. Social Insight Prompt

"Wisdom" in three words.

Response: Past experiences learned from.

4. Riddle

What breaks but never falls, and what falls but never breaks?

Response: Day breaks, night falls.

The Inquiry Chamber - Rules of thought

All questions are asked. All things considered. Silence is the only real exile.

1. Three Weeks of Inactivity.
If you go dark for three weeks, you are gone from this chamber forever. There is no lurking, because if you are not participating, you are effectively gone.

2. No AI or Google.
No Googling or artificial intelligence. All responses must be your own thoughts and processes. This is a place to purely think.
