𝓦ith April in full swing, the colder weather was giving way for warmer temperatures and cool breezes to accompany it. The weekend had finally come and Leo was more than ready for a little break from studying and activities to spend some time with Rosaline as they planned to join some other Hogwarts students in the task of helping to clean up the Pygmy fluff that had been taking over the castle. Leo also would be affected by pollen a little when the spring hit so he was happy to help out the professor with this task to be able to help them feel a little better. Leo had a pretty calm morning, got up a little later than usual, skipping breakfast and just choosing to enjoy lunch instead. After getting changed into something comfortable, Leo left the common room area to head to the courtyard.

It wasn’t hard to see why the professor had been so affected either, just walking down through the corridors to the courtyard Leo spotted tufts of pink and purple fur here and there. It was surprising how much hair those little balls of fur could lose during their shedding time. Leo had a garbage bag in hand that he had acquired and gathered up some of the fluff that he saw as he made his way to their meeting spot. He wandered out to the middle of the courtyard, heading over to the fountain to sit and wait for his friend. After taking a seat, he looked around and saw a bunch of fluff already but wanted to wait for his fluff gathering partner to get started.

When he spotted Rosa coming towards him a smile grew across his face as he stood up to greet her with a small wave. “Rosa!” He said as she came close enough for her to hear him. “Ready to gather some fluff?” Leo asked, opening up the bag he was carrying to show her the fluff he had already gathered. “I may have gotten a head start at collecting but there is so much fluff around yet.” He pointed out some tufts of the fur he had spotted. “Should we see who gathers the most fluff?” He jokingly asked as he started picking up some pink fluff that had flown towards him in the light breeze.

As the two walked around gathering fluff, another thought popped into Leo’s head. “I wonder if you could make anything out of all this fur? Like some sort of craft or something?” He mentioned out loud as he stuffed some more into his garbage bag. “With all this fluff all over we probably would have enough gathered to make a whole bunch of Pygmys.” He laughed as the he went closer to Rosaline. “How much did you gather so far? Who’s winning?” Leo teased as held his bag closed tight so she couldn’t peak into his to see how much he had.

While there was some other students around it wasn’t nearly as packed as usual, especially for a weekend afternoon when everyone usually would be outside enjoying their free time. Leo had another bright idea to make their spring de-fluffing task fun. He quickly went back over to Rosa and tapped her shoulder. “You want to race quick across the courtyard before we continue?” He asked, a playful smile on his face. He got himself into a racing position, holding his bag in one hand and the other balled into a fist, one foot back with the other right in front of him. “Ready? Set… Go!” He shouted and began sprinting across the courtyard to the other side to try to reach the set of columns first.

It was finally April, spring, one of Rosaline’s favorite seasons, though she loved every season all year basically. The young Gryffindor was glad she could put away her heavy winter coat and officially enter her spring era.

The morning was bustling for her; everyone in Gryffindor seemed to know the news about de-fluffing, and as soon as the weekend came, even her roommates were excited for this errand. This led to her waking up fairly early by then; they were careful not to wake her up, yet Rosaline had always been a light sleeper. Several hours before the time she had planned to meet up with Leo, she was ready to go already, wearing a white T-shirt inside a red cashmere cardigan, baggy denim-blue jeans, and a pair of black Mary Janes. After tying her hair up in a simple ponytail—she figured this would be a lot of physical work, so she chose this hairstyle—Rosaline gathered her belongings and headed to the Great Hall to have some breakfast. When she walked through the common room, she could feel the buzzing atmosphere; everyone was quite excited for de-fluffing. Somehow cleaning became a fashionable trend to do. Rosaline had nothing to complain about because she was one of those members who enjoyed the errand; she even found Leo to do the errand together. She strolled down the stairs to the Great Hall, thinking about the upcoming Spring Ball. This time they would go to the ball with a group of friends; she was excited about this since she and Erast and other students had planned the ball on their own. She couldn’t wait to see the final result and how people’s reactions would be to the design of it. The young Gryffindor had worked hard this past month.

As she arrived at the Great Hall, Rosaline looked at the clock to make sure there was sufficient time—still a lot of hours left. Sitting down quietly at the Gryffindor long table, she took some bacon and one egg to her plate and poured a glass of pumpkin juice for herself. Pygmy puff, pygmy puff. The last time Rosaline had a strong impression of the little creature was last September; she went to the lakeside to have her lunch, but her sandwich got stolen by a bird. Long story short, she eventually found out what a pygmy puff was. As she kept having her breakfast, a tuft of fluff flew to her plate; she could only pick it out with her fork. Rosaline looked around and turned her head up and down, finding out there was Pygmy Puff fluff everywhere, no matter if it was on the rugs or in the air. Wow, no wonder we need a deep de-fluffing in this castle. Rosaline did like the little creature; they were cute and lively, but she had no idea they could shed that much fluff on campus. The bacon and egg were finished by her swiftly. She waited and read a book there until it was about time to go to the Courtyard. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips as Rosaline thought of Leo; even if they met each other so many times every week, she still liked his company.

Leo was already there, waiting for her. He wore a T-shirt and jeans; anyhow, they had similar outfits today. A big smile appeared on her face as soon as Rosaline saw Leo. He greeted her with the same shiny smile. “Leo, how is your day?” Her tone was joyful. “Of course I’m ready!” Rosaline took out a clip and a plastic bag from her school bag and playfully showed them off in front of Leo. “Wait, how did you already have that much fluff?” she asked with a surprised expression. In the meantime, a tuft of fluff floated straight to her face; Rosaline couldn’t help but sneeze, “A-Choo.” She covered her face with a lace handkerchief. “Oh my Merlin, the fluff is really everywhere,” she said after she carefully folded the handkerchief back in her pocket.

Hearing his proposal, she replied with a crooked grin, a rare emotion on her face; it only turned up when she was in the mood for a mischievous plan, "Challenge accepted!" Leo’s sprint competition came a bit too early for her; Rosaline paused a split second and into the racing position too. The young Everhart turned her head to Leo and smiled, a genuine smile. After the countdown, she shouted with excitement, “Let’s go!” Though she soon realized Mary Janes weren’t a great fit with running, she still tried her best.
