Riley Bluescar ✩ Ravenclaw
♡♡♡♡♡♡
It was Riley's first holiday back from school. And it was one of her favorites. Christmas. The most merry and jolly time of year. After she waved goodbye to her school friends, boarded the Hogwarts Express, journeyed through Muggle London, she finally made it back home. And what a wondrous place home was. Her parents had set up a large tree and placed lots of shiny ornaments apon it. A family tradition. She stood outside her house for a moment, before she realized her parens her waiting at the door. She ran to them, dropping her luggage on the way. Bertha, who helped her with her travels, was picking up the discarded luggage with a grin on her small face. "Mum! Dad! I'm so happy to be home!!" she shouted at them, " I can't wait to tell you about my time at Hogwarts." Her parents looked down at her and her mother smiled. "And we can't wait to hear about it. Now come inside, I've got hot krokoa brewing." Riley grinned and stepped inside her house. It was a lovely place. The ceiling was high, and the walls were glistening. In the main room there was a piano, where Riley would have her mini concerts. In the main room, there was a portrait of one of her eldest ancestors. Ophelia Bluescar. That's who their house was named after. The portrait was a detailed one, and Riley's father said she began to look more like her as she got older. There was a lovely dinning room with a crystal chandelier, and the kitchens were always filled with tasty foods. The wash closets and bedrooms were upstairs, as well as the den. That's where they would play family games and such. On the bottom floor, there was also a deck with windows that could open and pour sun into the whole room. That was one of Riley's favorite rooms. She sat outside sipping the hot, sugary, chocolatey drink. Despite being the middle of winter, it was a lovely day outside. She looked out into the garden. There was a number of fields and plants in front of the forest. There was a rather large tree right in the center of the clearing, and it offered shade to anyone under it. It was one of Riley’s favorite reading nooks. At least it was. Now it only held bad memories. Mostly because it was where Riley and her mother watched a crow draw its last breath before dying. Riley remembered that day vividly. It was a cold day. Colder than usual. She was out on a walk with her mother, and they began to hear a strange bleating sound. Upon investigation, they came across the culprit. A crow. And a particularly big one for that matter. It had been struck in the heart. To this day they still weren’t sure why, but it seemed to be a fatal wound. And on that cold evening, a nine-year-old Riley watched as a crow’s chest heaved, stealing it’s final breath. The horrible sound stopped, but it’s legs were twitching. After a few dreadful minutes, the twitching stopped. Riley had always been a kind soul. She would try and save as many ants and beetle and small insects as she could. She felt bad for the poor little frightened animals. It wasn’t their fault that they were born as what they were. So in this moment, little Riley was bawling. Her mother reassured her that it was okay, and led her inside, but she was still a bit scarred from this experience. Now she sat here, 11 years old, still kindhearted, reminiscing her past experiences. She began to feel an awful feeling of Deja Vu. Perhaps it was because she was at home after a long time away. Or perhaps it was because there was a feint noise of a croaking, bleating crow in the distance.
