Damion had been very happy ever since he had walked into the school. The only time when he felt a little sad was when he received letters from his home. One such time was right now. He had just received a letter from both his parents. He was super happy that they had both written to him. He was eager to read. Taking a seat on the ground there, he opened his dad's letter and read it softly.

He was very happy that his father was already proud of him. He had told his parents, about the activities he was doing here and how well he was adjusting to the new place. It was going to take him some time to get used to it but he was doing a pretty good job at it. He wanted to show his parents that he was in fact responsible enough and old enough that he could stay away from them.

He was happy that going to Hogwarts had given him this opportunity and well he could prove to his parents that he was capable of doing something as big as staying alone: well away from his parents. He was capable enough to be able to do that. He wanted his parents to know that he was going to stay at Hogwarts and make them proud. He finished reading the letters and a smile appeared on his face.

It passed you up and slipped you by. But we're all bound to end up back to where we started

Esmay clutched her freshly delivered package to her chest and felt immense joy at the sight of the familiar wrapping paper her and her family picked out before she left. Her mom had obviously sprayed some of her perfume on the outside and Esmay longed for the hugs and warm snacks her mother would greet her with after a long day of school. She frowned at her hesitation of her new situation but quickly shook it off as she remembered how happy she was when she was gushing to her family about Hogwarts and getting sorted into Ravenclaw.

Esmay took a side glance at the other young Ravenclaw on the floor reading a letter. She smiled a little at his giddy response to his mail and turned to her package calling her name. Esmay leaned against a ledge, gently unfolded the seams on the wrapping paper, and set it down gently beside her - she wanted to hang it up in her room her later.

A small cardboard box was waiting underneath the paper and Esmay began to struggle to get it open. She huffed and rolled her eyes because she knew how her father always went tape-happy on packages and this time was way more than she had ever seen.
They definitely think owl packages are not too trustworthy I guess.
She giggled at the thought of her half-brother making a snarky remark before her family sent the package off. Esmay quickly returned her attention to reality.

Still struggling to rip open the cardboard box, Esmay gasped as the package ripped open and a bunch of glow in the dark stars scattered all over the floor along with a sealed envelope that floated down near the other Ravenclaw boy.
"Ohhh, this is why I hate tape!" Esmay cursed under her breath and began to frantically try and pick up all the stars.
