If God is omnipotent and Almighty and we tell Him to create a rock that He Himself will not be able to lift, then two possibilities arise:
He will create it : If He makes it, then he will not be able to lift it, proving he isn't omnipotent.
He can't create it : Then He isn't Almighty.
What do you guys think?

If you want me to answer honestly, I will, but I want to make sure that you’re comfortable with me saying what I think.George Calder wrote: 27 Apr 2026, 13:34 If God is omnipotent and Almighty and we tell Him to create a rock that He Himself will not be able to lift, then two possibilities arise:

This is actually something I could put into the apologetics club if you’d like to see what they have to say.

Below is my opinion on this matter and not meant to offend anyone. This is just how I view this question:
Well, basically I feel as if this question sets you up in a trap. There’s not exactly a correct option with either.
The thing is, even though God is outside of time, that doesn’t mean that logic doesn’t exist. I believe he is almighty and omnipotent.
My reasoning? Well, think about it this way. Making a rock heavy enough that even God can’t lift doesn’t make sense. It’s like telling someone to make a circle square. If you make a circle square, it’s no longer called a circle.
The point is, God is almighty and omnipotent, but logic is logic. My opinion is that neither answer is correct and the correct answer is God is almighty and omnipotent because he is a God that can do all things.
Yet again, this is just my opinion and not meant to cause a fight.

@George Calder-that is a good question, and here's my answer(I'm tired, excuse this if it's bad)!
A-God doesn't have to do what we, as humans, say. For example, we can pray, but he doesn't have to answer us in the way we want/expect.
B-There is literally nothing that could ever exist that he could not lift. If he could create it, he has control over it. You can say that proves him not omnipotent, but I'd disagree. I'd say that makes him even more powerful, that there is nothing he can't lift.
Just my humble opinion, I know enough to know that I don't know anything in the scheme of life!
