Kendra's attention was drawn by the other girl. She listened to her excusing Kaegen and narrowed her eyes thinking about it. Pulling her hood back on would be advisable though so she did as the girl told her to and sat back on the chair while remaining grumpy about what had just happened. Kaegen argued that not showing her hair had been the reason for the misunderstanding. She felt anger building up again but she managed to not show it, even though her face was more red than ever.

"I'm Kendra Ackerman, Slytherin." she introduced herself without even looking at them.

Just then she realised Kaegen was intensely looking at her. She eyed him out of  the corner of her eyes as he seemed to be observing something with serious doubt showing on his face. The Ravenclaw girl complimented her cloak and she couldn't help but feel a little bad about the way she had acted.

"Thanks" she mumbled before looking back at Kaegen who seemed to have made up his mind about something.

"That's interesting. You're different." he said. Different? And in what way exactly was she different? She wasn't sure whether to take it as a compliment or to feel... weird, as if she was a new museum exhibit of new strange art that nobody really understood. Her mind was going many ways and she struggled to focus her thoughts on one thing at a time.

She nodded, attempting to memorize the girl's name, and was technically surprised, though not really at all, to discover she was a Slytherin. Though she'd met members of all of the other houses, Slytherins remained like elusive beings that only lived in the shadows, talked about, but never seen. Now she had the opportunity to meet a real live one, right in front of her, and came to the decided realization that they were just other kids, sorted into some sort of social standard just like she had been with Ravenclaw, even though she hated to read!

Clary had no idea what Kaegan was talking about, but then again, most of the time the boy didn't make sense. He was strange, quiet, and most obviously stuck in his own little world of daydreams and "magic", though his great interest in Magical Creatures kept her intrigued, reminding her of the assortment of pictures she'd seen when "studying" over the summer for the topic. She wondered about their earlier topic of conversation, tempted to attempt to ask him once again about what kind of creatures he'd grown up around, but thought better of it, realizing he still seemed a bit dazed and distracted.

A bit unsure of the predicament Claryssa had found herself in, her clear eyes darted around the room, taking in the glow of the candles, the chorus of talkative voices, and the dripping cups of booze all around. Suddenly an idea was sparked in her mind, and she turned excitedly to others, who had basically gotten themselves into this mess, whether or not they wished to be involved. "Guys, there's booze all around the room, and how much does an ant really need? I mean, it's an ant. Why don't we just ask someone else for a small portion of their drink or "borrow" from an abandoned cup?"

It was evident they'd be getting no-where with the bartender, who constantly passed over the children as if they weren't present in the room. They were probably fortunate it was such a busy day, or their cover would have been blown long ago, and then who knows what the punishments would be! Her plan had a risk, but also had a greater chance of success, if she was thinking about this as logically as she thought she was. Clary paused for a moment, realizing she was assessing the situation like a true Ravenclaw. Perhaps she had been sorted accurately, after all.

The girl's face was turning bright red. That meant she was blushing, and embarrassed. He had seen other people do the same thing during his stay here in hogwarts, and was reasonably positive he was getting the reaction right. But why was she embarrassed? He ran through what had just happened in his head. Found a bunch of different possible answers, and formulated a sentence to fix them all at once.
She had started getting red after what he had said. What had he said? That it was hard to tell who she was without seeing her hair? Well, how would one fix something like that?
Kaegen thought hard. And then decided to go with a flawless compliment. "I could tell who you were even if you were bald now, I just never paid attention before" No, that was maybe not the way to go. Maybe it would make her feel better to hold a cute pet? I mean, a cute face often helps more than Kaegen's failed attempts at making her feel less embarrassed.
His arm slipped into his sleeve, and came out with a box. Opening the box, he gently took out a small moke. "Want to hold him?" This was the last ditch effort. Animals could often do a better job of talking than he could. And pendragon was adorable.
And then the other girl told them her plan, it was pretty smart, actually. He would go ask for that guy's booze as soon as he helped this girl calm down a bit more. The ants would be fine for a little longer. Hopefully.

James was quite shocked to hear about exploding ants. He'd heard a bit about them, but not much. The girl, who he didn't know the name of yet, asked him the same question he asked them. The question was hard to answer, as James himself wasn't really sure why he came here. "Oh, I'm just here to grab a quick snack." James said, still looking around the tavern to see if he could spot the bartender. The other boy, the one who was talking about the exploding ants, got into an argument with the hooded-girl. James was slightly shocked, he assumed that most arguments would happen in school, not out at some bar.

The girl who wasn't cloaked appeared to have been defending the other boy, who from what she talks about seems to be named Kaegan. The girl introduced herself to the group, and James felt as though he was obligated to do the same. "I'm James; James Henderson." James said, trying to make the atmosphere more positive by introducing himself. James remembered the comment the boy had on fire ants, and even overheard the group talk about magical creatures. James felt that this would be a great time to bring up his journal, as well as his interest in magical creatures.

"Also, I couldn't help but overhear you two talkin about magical creatures..."  James said, trying to start up a conversation. "I myself have journal about them." James said, trying his best not to brag or boast. The girl commented that there was booze all through out the tavern, and James looked around, seeing that she was right. There was over a dozen glasses on the counter alone, not to mention the separate tables. James looked over to Kaegan, who toke something out of his robe. James didn't really have a comment on it, he was just kind of looking at it. James had a small smile, but that faded quickly. He began to look around for any bottles of booze that weren't being used, as he wanted to help them, despite just meeting them.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, officially, James," Clary replied in greeting with a quickly mimed tip of her hat. "You were at Quidditch try-outs, right? I swear I saw you there, though I'll admit I have no idea what part you tried out for." Clary was amazed at the mentioning of a 'magical creature journal', her heaps of sketchbooks technically serving as the same thing, just in picture form. A slight smile played on her lips, realizing his eyes were dancing across the room, occasionally locking onto bottles of possibly abandoned alcoholic beverages. Perhaps James could be an asset to their plan, or at least more than a simple, unassuming accomplice.

"I'd love to see your journal later. I actually have a sketchbook of them myself, but for the current situation at hand, do you want to help out?" she questioned the boy mischievously, realizing she was probably being a bad influence on him. Then again, if it came down to them all getting caught, he and Kendra would probably be blamed for their actions just as much as she and Kaegan would. Clary's gaze flitted around the room, jumping from table to table, and over to the end of the bar, where a single lone booze stood unattended, still half-way full. The only unfortunate occurrence of this situation was that the bartender was nearby. They'd need a distraction. "If your answer is yes, I think I have a plan."

Clary angled herself so she could face James, Kaegan, and Kendra all at once, laying out her idea on the table for them to comment on and help perfect. "The basic idea is this. We're underage, so we obviously can't order alcohol from the bar, but we can go grab that drink over there. If a few of us distract the bartender with an order or a comment, then someone else can sneak over to far side of the room and snatch the bottle. We wait for Kae to fill up his flask, grab a snack if we so wish, and high tail it out of here, or just hang out in a booth or talk. Any of you willing to pull off a heist?"

Clary was eager to test out the idea, reaching out to claim any small tidbit of adventure she could possibly collect. It was no "Mission Impossible", but perhaps a little thievery and heist mischief was an effective bonding experience for making new friends.

"Wait a minute, so you guys are really looking for liquor for... ants?" she asked feeling the blood finally retreating from her face.

These people were getting stranger by the minute but there was something about them that Kendra found rather intriguing even though she couldn't really understand what was going on in Kaegen's mind. At that moment Kaegen said something about her being bald and how he would still recognise her then. Her initial reaction would be to get angry again but she was beginning to realise that he was just awfully honest about all his thoughts and had an awkward way for expressing them. That left her with a sigh as she gave Kaegen a disappointed look.

"Are you for real?" she asked, dispair showing in her voice.

Kaegen seemed to think about something again and Kendra prepared for his next disastrous move. He then proceeded to take out his pet moke and hand it over to her. That was certainly unexpected. Kendra's expression had gone blank as she carefully took the lizard in her hands. Now that wasn't so bad.

"He is cute." she said taking a closer look at the animal. "Thanks... I guess.." she said with the slightest hint of a smile on her lips.

She then listened to Claryssa's plan and tried to set her thoughts in order. "Okay... ants...exploding ones, that need liquor." she thought.

"Okay now before anyone actually goes up to some drunk dude to ask them for their half empty bottle of wine I would suggest a more sneaky approach, if you know what I mean" she said giving Kaegen a meaningful look.

At least the other two seemed to reflect their house's reputation. Claryssa went on to explain the rest of the plan and Kendra found it very clever and it seemed it would actually work.

"Alright! I can sneak over there to get the bottle." she said, while still holding the lizard in her hands.

"Underage? I'm 11." "And I'm pretty sure I'm real, but you never know. Don't trust me if I say I'm not a chameleon ghoul."
Kaegen Leaves pendragon on the counter, and smoothly hops off the bar. Walking over to a table, he decides to ask the man there for some of his booze, not realizing that 11 year olds shouldn't be allowed to get access to booze, and thinking all this secrecy to be a waste of time. Someone would be nice enough to give them some alcohol. "Excuse, me. May I have some of your liqour, to feed my exploding ants?" The man stares at the boy for a moment, then gives a loud, booming laugh. "How old are yeh? This is only for us grown-ups! Hey guys! This boy wants some booze for him and his little friends!" A few tables burst out laughing, so kaegen decides to use this opportunity, and grab one of the laughing men's cups. He turns and walks with it over to the other students. Smiling slightly. That worked out. Although a few of the more responsible adults there were standing up and trying to see which kids were trying to get their hands on some alcohol. Now maybe he could feed the ants, and be done with this. It had taken a lot longer than he would have expected. With any luck pendragon had gotten along with the other students while he was standing up. I mean, he got along just fine with him, didn't he? These people would probably be no different.

"Sounds like a plan to me," Clary agreed, beaming over at Kendra. Initial impressions aside, she was silently grateful for the girl's offered help. With her strange, somewhat sneaky expertise clearly displayed through her somewhat elusive interest in the cloaked outfit, the Slytherins First Year was he perfect candidate for the task of sneaking over to the far side of the bar and retrieving the bottle. Assuming they could pull this off quickly, she'd be able to sneak back, quietly slip the bottle into Kae's awaiting arms, and sit back down as if nothing else had happened. Kaegan could pour out the drink into his "hip flask", as he chose to call it, the ant would receive its beverage, and the rest of the students would stay out of trouble.

With Kendra's roll clearly marked out, and Kaegan evidently a bit too spontaneous, that left Clary and James as clear candidates for the distraction. "How do we want to set this up?" she questioned him, her mind reeling over possibilities for the situation. "We could just ask to order a non-alcoholic drink... or maybe some food?"

Kendra was sneaky, but they needed a backup plan in case things were to go amiss. She just wondered how far James was willing to go. They needed to act quickly with the newly accumulating attention of the adults.

James, who was quite overwhelmed at the idea of stealing, eventually persuaded himself to go along with it. James thought he'd be best on the distraction department, as he stutters a lot which would give the group some more time. Suddenly, Kendra and Kaegan both volunteered to take the booze. While they tried to get the booze, James and the girl were figuring out how they would distract the bartender.

"Yeah, if we order something then he'll be pretty distracted." James said, glancing over at the bartender. After some thinking, James came up with a plan that was able to 'distract' the bartender. "I have a plan..." James said,  prepared to distract the bar tender. "Ok, so we use petrificus totalus on the bar-tender, that'll knock him out, and then we get the booze and run." James said, pulling his wand out ready to use it. "I mean, he can't see us if he's knocked out, right?" James said, waiting for what the girl's response would be. James himself was quite unsure how his plan would work, and he was a little nervous about the whole situation. But it was for the creature, so he'd do it if he had to.

Clary wasn't sure if she should be in awe of James or terrified of him. The plan was bold, but it'd technically work. The only flaw was that firstly, they were under age wizards and would be tracked down by the Ministry for their crimes. Secondly, considering they were all new First Years, none of them were aware of how to execute the spell, aside from its incantation which was common knowledge. Taking all of this into consideration, Clary but her lip, hesitant to reply.

"Let's just... go with the ordering idea for the moment. I'll stand up and wave him over, and then you can order butterbeer or something!" Logic aside, Clary was still pretty surprised by James' original bold plan and gained a newfound respect for him in the midst of their chaos.

Ready to execute their goal, Clary waved over Kaegan, quickly stammering out some excuse to the meddling adults of how Kaegan simply meant to ask for the butterbeer he'd heard about earlier after being recommended to try it out by a friend. She next snapped a hand in front of Kendra's face, trying to distract her from the cute little Pendragon who remained perched nearby. It was time to execute their plan and get the heck outta there. "Let's do this."
