A Season for New Beginnings
It was springtime at Hogwarts, the students had all been returned now from Christmas Break for a while and settled back into a bit of routine though finally the weather had gotten warm enough that students - especially those tired of being cooped up indoors during the winter - had started coming out into the courtyard and grounds after classes more and more each day.
On this day in question, Edward had invited his friends to join him out in the courtyard for some fresh air but had gotten there early and so far none of the others had arrived; however to his curiosity there was a Ravenclaw boy
“Hello there,” Edward said softly to the boy in blue and bronze, he didn’t want to come on too strongly, he knew that Ravenclaws often appreciated a calm thoughtful approach to introductions, “I’m Edward, Edward Bishop, I think I’ve seen you around but I’m afraid we haven’t met properly,” he offered a friendly smile, but didn’t extend his hand, he didn’t want to be presumptive yet as perhaps this boy was one who didn’t like anyone touching him, but would accept if the other offered his own hand in greeting.

sitting alone; Edward didn’t think that he had met this boy before but he thought that maybe he had seen him around maybe in a class? He seemed friendly enough - and true to his Hufflepuff nature he always had room for more friends - so he decided to walk over and and say hello.@Harry Branddor

Spring was arriving at Hogwarts, the students were all back after a long break away from their books, some more than others. Harry had returned to school, which he already missed. He met with some of his friends earlier where they had eaten sweets and chatted. That afternoon, Harry sat down to read a book on the theory of magic, the author? Well, he didn't know but it seemed interesting. Yes, sometimes he liked to pick up any book in the library without much discrimination. Near him, where he was sitting, a skinny Hufflepuff boy
"Hello," he said to Harry, his serene eyes and gentle voice marking a welcoming trait. "I'm Edward, Edward Bishop. I think I've seen you around, but I'm afraid we don't know each other very well yet." Harry had seen him a few times in the corridors, sometimes alone and sometimes accompanied, and he seemed genuinely interested in another friendship. "Hey Edward? I'm Harry, I think we've seen each other a few times in Potions class, it's a pleasure to meet you," he said smiling as he flipped through the pages of his book.

approached Harry. At first, in the last 5 minutes, he seemed to be looking for someone, judging by his gaze and behavior. Maybe a group of friends, who knows? Harry saw him approach, and he calculated the boy's next words before he even spoke, which, as it turned out, proved accurate. The boy introduced himself gently in a way that most people, and even Harry, sometimes did when greeting others.@Edward Bishop

Edward returned the smile. He took a deep exhale internally as his greeting was received well - a sigh of relief that he avoided the pain of rejection, it was rare that he had ever been the one to approach someone else first so he certainly didn’t want it to be the time he misjudged the situation and got berated by someone he was merely trying to be friendly with; sadly, that had happened before and was perhaps one of the reasons why he rarely did so, but this boy had given him good vibes and was glad to learn that his intuition was right;
“Nice to finally meet you properly Harry!” he said enthusiastic now that his initial greeting had been well-received, “I was going to meet some of my other friends here but it seems they’ve been delayed - mind if I join you?” he asked with a twinge of hope in his voice; he didn’t want to impose even if the boy was friendly maybe he didn’t want company…
He looked quickly around once more around the courtyard just to be sure that none of his other friends had arrived yet before turning his full attention back to Harry, awaiting his reply.

"Nice to finally meet you properly, Harry!" Edward said to Harry, greeting him. "The pleasure is all mine!" He replied softly but cheerfully, returning the handshake.
"I was going to meet some friends here, but it seems they're running late. Can I join you?"
"I was going to meet some friends here, but it seems they're running late. Can I join you?"
Harry noticed the relief on Edward's face; perhaps he was a little nervous about meeting someone new, and since his friends hadn't arrived yet, he decided to invite him to sit down.
Of course! Make yourself at home!
Harry said cheerfully, "Hey, what were you and your friends doing here? Harry said, wanting to start a conversation with him, "My friends and I always hang out together to talk, but I like to be alone sometimes. However, I never refuse good company, so here we are." He spoke a little to invite Edward into a conversation and show him that he could feel at ease, "I like to stop and read books from the library. Some people think I read books that are a bit advanced, but I think those are the most interesting. I'm always interested in the more difficult ones. I also like history books, but what about you? What do you like to do in your free time?" He asked Edward, wanting him to feel free to talk a little, ultimately, I didn't want to be rude and talk too much; that would seem bad. Of course! Make yourself at home!
