It was a rainy Saturday. I had nothing to do so I did what I usually did when I had nothing to do. I headed to the ballroom. That morning I woke up at 6 am to the sound of pittering rain. None of my roommates were up yet. So I quietly slipped into the bathroom and put my hair in a ballet bun and added a pink headband? Sweatband? I don't know what to call it but it was cute. I also slipped on a pale pink leotard and a pink skirt with a bow on it. I had also put on a light ballet sweater because it was a bit cold this morning. Lastly I grabbed my dance duffle and left the room. So now at 7 am in the morning, I thought I was the only one in the ballroom. I had all types of dance stuff in my pink duffle bag. I had lyrical shoes, jazz shoes, ballet flats, and last but not least my pointe shoes. I slipped them onto my feet and felt at home. I warmed up first, splits, stretches, tendu, plié. All of the good stuff. By the time I finished all that it was already 7:30, but I had all day to dance. I did some piqués and fouettés and I was ready to do some actual dancing. But what I didn't realize is that there was someone else in the ballroom the entire time I was there.

Cassie wakes up at half past six, staring at the ceiling of her dormitory. She did not set an alarm clock, yet she is awake on her four post trunk bed. Her mind is not used to the fact that the spring royalty activity has ended. During the past month, she has been waking up early every single day, either to practise Ballet or to run laps by the great lake.
She lies on her bed, hoping to fall asleep again, but she can't. The sun has risen, and she desperately wants to dance again. Dancing in the ballroom has become part of her daily routine. Quietly, she picks up her things, and walks out of her dormitory, down the long spiral staircase of the west tower, to the ballroom on the fourth floor.
The moment she opens the door, she notices that she is not the first in the ballroom. Another girl wearing a pink Ballet leotard is already in the room. Taking a closer look, Cassie realizes that the girl is Tina Carille, a first year Ravenclaw. At the spring royalty activity, she performs right after Cassie, singing and dancing. Cassie recalls that she is a good dancer too.
Cassie looks quietly, afraid that making noises will scare and injure the girl. After she has finished doing warm-ups, Cassie says, in a soft voice, 'Hi Tina! Fancy seeing you here.'

'Yep, I'm Cassie' Cassie replies, a bit surprised that the girl can remember her name. 'Thank you so much. We've got to wait until the results are announced at the ball. You did really great too! You were the second performer, right?' Cassie thinks hard to recall the girl's performance. Though she was talking to Mira and Zephyr at the moment, the young girl's song and dance still left her a deep impression. 'Your voice was beautiful!' Cassie exclaims. 'And I like your dance too. It's...' she pauses a second to think of the name of the variation, 'the flame of Paris?' She is quite familiar with many of the variations.
'Oh it's alright, I understand what you meant.' Cassie says when the girl apologizes. 'I didn't expect to see you here either.' The girl invites Cassie to warm up together. 'Sure! And I agree, warm ups are always essential. Let's warm up together.' Cassie says as she sits on the floor, putting her things beside her, and starts doing front splits.
'A whole day?' Cassie exclaims when the young dancer tells Cassie her plan. 'I am planning to do some more studies during the day, especially in the afternoon. I've been practising a lot before the ball and... imagine how tired we'd be after a whole day of dancing!' she smiles, 'anyway, maybe we can dance together in the morning, then I'll check my schedule again.'

Cassie seemed really surprised. “Well here’s the thing since I came to Hogwarts I’ve only danced once a month. So when I DO dance I take the whole day to make up for everything else.” I said. “And yeah, my variation was Flame of Paris.” I added, going into a middle split. Then I remembered who I was talking to. I remembered them flirting in the first row during my performance. “Sooo...Whos the Hufflepuff boy?.” I asked with a sly grin. I had started doing extensions. “I promise I'm not a stalker. It was hard to ignore. Im a 12 year old girl of course I know the gossip around Hogwarts.” I said, hoping she wouldn't pick up her bag and run. I was probably blowing my chance to make friends. “Anywho, want to do a duet?.” I said, changing the subject so she wouldn't have to. Though I still wanted answers. Obviously. I hated not getting answers especially because I was 'too young'. But I kept going with my warm ups. Moving to turns. But I decided it be a bit hard to talk like this. “Any song ideas for the duet?" I asked. I wondered why I was letting her see a messy side of me ever so suddenly. I realized what I was doing and pulled back a bit. Only a bit, not too much..
