Contemplation in the Courtyard
It was only a few days after Tabitha Caldwell’s late enrollment. Classes were yet to start for her, and she only scarcely met a few acquaintances. Wandering through a flooded corridor of Hogwarts, the girl suddenly learned news of something rather unsettling. *She overheard a plethora of quiet gossiping about a Secret Blossom Ball…*
“Perhaps it’s only unsettling to me,” she thought., and continued on.
*Her pace slowed a little as she saw the courtyard. She never really thought about this location, but for some reason it beckoned her, drawing her to explore it. When she reached the clearing, she noticed that a few students were there already, probably getting some fresh air between classes.*
*Tabitha’s gaze lifted a little, looking around the area. She could hear a group of boys laughing and conversing; about 3 of them. A ravenclaw girl leaned against a column in the distance. She was quietly reading a book, her attention unwavering. A slytherin boy was located right next to a tree, sitting comfortably on the concrete. He appeared to be sleeping, and his head leaned to the side against a branch. A few other students were just crossing by. One was running towards her, as if in a hurry. Tabitha quickly swept to the side so that the student could pass.*
*Tabitha approached the center fountain, and stood facing it. Her vision rested on the glistening streams of water, leaving her to her thoughts.*
Tabitha had only just gotten used to the school, and now there’s a hidden ball in a mere three days. “Of course, it’s not vital that I attend...I don’t have time for such ridiculous activities anyway.” Her mind's voice exclaimed so in firm confidence. Sure, on the surface she felt so. She even convinced herself that those were her true inner feelings.
Yet a suppressed, ignored, silent little flame of desire sparked conflict in that notion. It longed not only for the thrill of experience, but for a genuine connection with someone she could be friends with.
But then again, who would want to go to a Ball with Tabitha Caldwell? She was rather pale, and had strange brown hair tousled with loose, cramped curls. She remembers her peers in the past teasing her about it. “Maybe Hogwarts would be the same..” She lamented.
Tabitha was so enthralled in her thoughts that she didn’t even notice the student approaching her from across the courtyard..

Contemplation in the Courtyard
Adohiro stepped into the nice courtyard, it certainly was a nice courtyard, but not the best he had seen. He would silently judge the courtyard as he noticed a girl near the fountain. He judged the fountain again, thinking this was not art, it was something some child made in kindergarten. He would examine the fountain and the girl. Hopefully, she would not think he was some creep staring at her, he was only judging the courtyard and the art of it. He soon decided to approach the girl, he had not seen her around, she must be new or one of the quiet ones in the crowd. "Hello, what is your name?" He would ask the girl. She did look pretty, however, he had already asked someone to the ball and she had accepted. It was nice he was not rejected, that would have made him look bad! He was wondering if he should befriend this girl. Judging by her robe, she was in the same House as he was so he would see her around quite a lot. "oh sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I am Adohiro Moira. My name mean peace within the chaos." He would smile at her.

*Tabitha was so enthralled in her thoughts that she didn’t even notice the student approaching her from across the courtyard.. *
"Hello, what is your name?" A boys voice enquired.
*Tabitha promptly snapped out of her thoughts, a little startled, since she wasn’t expecting someone to speak to her.*
*She turned a little to face the boy. She opened her mouth to respond when the boy added,*
"oh sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I am Adohiro Moira. My name means peace within the chaos." He smiled kindly.
*Tabitha smiled back. She was intrigued by this unique introduction.*
“Peace within the chaos, huh…” she thought.
*Her intuition gave her the sense that she'd met a nice person.*
*She nodded in acknowledgement, and then followed that premise, responding,*
“Nice to meet you, Adohiro. My name is Tabitha Caldwell. That's a nice name you’ve got.”
*Tabitha then wondered if her own name meant anything. The concept never really occurred to her.. She noticed the color scheme and the house crest embedded on Adohiro’s robes. He was a Slytherin, like herself.*
*Tabitha is glad to meet another one. She wonders how he feels about Slytherin. At the sorting ceremony, a lot of people seemed quite somber about being placed in the house. Tabitha wasn't bothered, however. She liked her placement already.*
“What year are you? Just curious…” Tabitha asked.
*She silently wished it was the same one as hers.*
“Being a first year would raise the chances of a friendship,” she thought.
Tabitha had a tendency to carefully evaluate the people she’d meet, deciding whether they’d be compatible friends or not. Perhaps this constant filtering was a factor in her apparent lack of genuine friendships..
“Perhaps this boy has potential.” *Her mind's voice wondered, before gradually quieting itself.*

Adohiro would soon hear the girl introduce herself as Tabitha Caldwell and he would think this was an interesting name. He certainly had not heard any first years with this name so it was certainly a unique name. "That is an interesting name you have." He would comment on her name and he would stand up straighter. "I am a first year." He would tell her. It seemed like she was a first year at least. He wished that the uniforms would show people their name and their year. It certainly would be easier to make friends that way. He would continue to observe the girl quietly, she seemed nice and all. It was a bit difficult to make friends and keep them especially when people would find their own friends' circles and ditch their other friends for new ones. It was difficult to make new friends and have them stay with him. It was pretty irksome and he would wonder what to talk about. He had no idea what to say next, he was bad at any sort of small talk. "What is your favorite hobbies?" He would ask her the question, he hoped it did not sound like an odd ir weird question. He felt like he was always socially inept.

"That is an interesting name you have." Adohiro said, following Tabitha’s introduction.
“Thanks,” she replies automatically.
*Thinking about it afterwards, her name does seem to be uncommon. She had never meant another person named Tabitha, or even read about one named so in books.*
“What year are you? Just curious…” Tabitha asked
.
He then stated that he was in his first year. *Tabitha was content when she heard so.*
“This is my first year as well.” Tabitha responded.
*A short pause gently swept through, Then she became unsure all of the sudden on how to continue the conversation. Adohiro thankfully broke the silence, asking her what her favorite hobbies were.*
*Tabitha’s eyes seemed to brighten as she listed the few she had.*
“I really enjoy playing Wizard’s Chess... and I produce artwork, but it’s more of an occasional habit when I have nothing else to do...And I love learning about Magic.”
Her eyes lost their temporary luster when It struck Tabitha that she couldn’t think of another hobby. She thought there’d be more than that… Maybe she needed more experiences. ”I’m kinda plain..” She thought. Then promptly shrugged off the feeling.*
She doesn’t know what other hobbies she could adopt, anyways.
“What about you? What are your hobbies?” Tabitha asks, curious to discover what people besides herself do in their spare time.

He would give a nod as she would list her hobbies, he had not heard of Wizard's Chess, was it a Dragons And Dungeons kind of role play game? Or was it like a regular chess game, but they threw in the word wizards to make it more appealing to the younger people? He had no idea and when she had asked what his hobbies were, it took him a bit to decide on what to say to her without looking weird. "I like to play instruments and well I can cook Korean, Chinese, and Japanese dishes, but other country's I cannot do." He would say still unsure of what to say. It also seemed this girl did not know how to carry on a conversation like him. It was just awkward socially inept people trying to become friends by conversating except it was hard. He would sigh and he would begin to think of what to say to her. "What is your favorite class so far in Hogwarts or do you not like any of them? I hate transfiguration, it's the most difficult class ever for me at least. I hate it a lot but the other classes are okay."

"I like to play instruments and well I can cook Korean, Chinese, and Japanese dishes, but other country's I cannot do." Adohiro said. *Tabitha peaks with interest. She briefly recalls her Father, sending letters home from his time working in Asia.*
“Have you ever been to any of those countries? They sound absolutely fascinating whenever I hear about them.” *Tabitha smiles with her full attention.*
*She receives her answer, and nods with acknowledgement.*

Tabitha hadn’t taken a class yet at Hogwarts, as the school only just finalized her registration. She was a bit embarrassed to admit this, but did so regardless.
“I haven’t taken any yet, actually. I did look at the schedule though.”
*She pauses, her gaze lowering as she tries to remember her reaction at reading the class list.*
“I haven’t really heard much about transfiguration. What makes it difficult? Is it the teacher, the work, or just the subject in general?”
*A sense of unease rests in Tabitha. She doesn't want to struggle much in any of the classes she would take.* “I suppose it isn’t possible to just breeze through…” Tabitha’s mind concludes.
*She hopes she isn’t seeming odd, asking so many questions to Adohiro at once. Her curiosity sometimes got ahead of fluidity in conversations.*
