Hogwarts Express
Louisa stood at the platform with her mother, carrying her suitcase. Louisa had decorated her suitcase the day before with stickers of brooms, stars, potions. Louisa also wanted to put stickers of witches but all the stickers she could find were of witches having green skin And large noses, Louisa didn't want such stickers.
Louisa even packed some of her favourite books so that she won't feel bored on the ride to Hogwarts. She even brought along her teddy, she had never separated from that teddy since she was 5. She had to sit on her suitcase to zip it
Her mother held her hand, not wishing to leave her. Her mother was not really happy with Louisa going into the wizarding world. But her mother had no choice so she kissed Louisa on her cheeks and held both of Louisa's hand and said, ‘ I know everything will be new for you, but I know that you'll do great and make Mumma proud. Remembered mumma always loves you. ’
Louisa wanted to cry but knew that if she cried now, that would be it. So Louisa kissed her mummy, picked her suitcase and waved her mummy goodbye
Louisa entered the train hoping to make new friends.

As the Hogwarts Express started it's journey towards Hogsmead I was feeling excited and nervous at the same time. To distract myself from these emotions in order to remain calm I was in a dilemma to either read a book or listen to something on the radio which works on WWN (Wizarding Wireless Network). I could probably could look out the window too, I bet I could see large green fields and meadows filled with flowers. But I knew looking out the window wouldn't calm my nerves, I'd probably start thinking about what was to come, or about my muggle friends, or my family. My mind would just jump from one thought to another until I'm caught in an inescapable web of thoughts. I would've consider socialising but there was no one in my cabin, except for a large brown trunk. It seemed to have a leather like finish. I wonder whom it belongs to? Suddenly i snapped out of my thoughts as a pretty girl with dark brown hair and metallic rimmed glasses entered the cabin. She seemed shy, she was probably nervous too, as was I. "Finally, some company", I thought. As she seated herself, I decided to talk to her. "Hi there, I'm Avery. What's your name?"

The girl had just introduced herself as Louisa. "Nice to meet you too Louisa." She had a very sweet voice. She seemed to be a very kind and polite person as well. This is my chance to make a new friend, my first wizard friend, I thought. But what if it were too soon, what if Louisa didn't want to become friends that quick. Some people take time in deciding to be friends, I should respect that and probably not rush this first meeting.
So, pulling myself out of my thoughts I decided to take things slowly. I hated small talk as I wasn't really good at it, but I had to start a conversation somewhere. So I asked her the first thing that struck my mind as something that people would ask while making a convo. " So Louisa, where are you from? I'm from Winchester, England." I added more, "How do you feel about this new experience? What do you think Hogwarts would be like? Do you have any siblings who've been to Hogwarts?"
Oops! I did it again, I asked too many questions all at once, why do I keep doing that. I always end up doing smth like this when I'm nervous or excited. She'd probably think I'm rude and impatient. That's not the first impression I wanted to give. But I can't correct myself now, so I waited for her to answer.

After I introduced myself, Avery replied with, "Nice to meet you too Louisa." I was really happy that I was making a friend, on Hogwarts Express.
But I didnt know how to continue the conversation, thats my worst problem, I never know how to continue the talk and then the person I talk to ends up feeling awkward and thats it.
So I sat still my hands fidgeting with my skirt. I was really really hoping that Avery would start talking to keep up the conversation. It would be really awkward for us if either one of us didnt talk to eachother And then the whole train journey might become awkward. So I decided that I should ask something, should I compliment her shirt? Tell her how nice the colour is? Or should I ask her if she likes reading books? Nah, I should think something better. What if I asked her her favourite colour? It would be a good topic for discussion
But as I was busy in my series of questions I could ask, Avery had already thought of one and asked me, “So Louisa, where are you from? I'm from Winchester, England." she added more, "How do you feel about this new experience? What do you think Hogwarts would be like? Do you have any siblings who've been to Hogwarts?"
Wow thats a lot of questions and much better than what I had thought of asking her.
I replied, “ I am from Seaton, England and I really dont know how I feel of this experience at times I am excited but I am also really scared because this is the first time I will be staying away from my mom.”
“And about Hogwarts I don't really know much of it, my mummy says that my father went to Hogwarts and that it was the best place to him. So I hope that it would be amazing. ”
“And about siblings I am the only child so I have no siblings who've been to Hogwarts.”
To continue the conversation I asked her,“ So what about you How do feel about this new experience? What do you think Hogwarts would be like? And Do you have any siblings who've been to Hogwarts?"
I hope she doesn't think I am too rude for asking the same questions as her

Louisa said that she was from Seaton. She also said that she was both excited and scared. Well, that makes both of us, it was the first time I was away from my family too. She added that her mum told her abt how her dad loved hogwarts. Hmm... the way she put that sentence made it seem like her father didn't stay with her. But that was a sensitive topic, so I put aside my brimming curiosity. She then said that she was a single child. Ohh, just like me then.
She then asked back my questions, which I was more than glad to answer. A lot of people wouldn't even ask me back questions and then it would end up getting all awkward, while we stared at each other, I internally cringed at the situation we'd just dodged.
I replied, " Well, I'm quite nervous abt this too, going to a place I've never been before, where I don't know anyone. I don't have any siblings either. I have a wizard cousin, but he goes to Durmstrang."
"But my mum told me not to worry. She said that I'd have a lot of fun just like she did, and that the professors there were really helpful. So, along with being nervous, I'm also quite excited. I heard that hogwarts has a huge library, and there's even a restricted section. I wish I could go in there, with a teacher's permission of course. I also gave our textbooks a little read. I think I'd like Potions, DADA, and transfiguration, and perhaps charms too. But do you know what I'm most excited abt, the secret passageways. I've heard that hogwarts is filled with them, I hope I come across some. What do you think?"

her.
She said that she was nervous about Hogwarts and that she doesn't have any siblings just like me. But she does have a wizard cousin who goes to Durmstrang.
Never heard of that place. I made a mental note to ask Avery about that place later on.
She told me about how her mom told her about Hogwarts and how she was quite excited about it. Avery also told me about how Hogwarts has a huge library with a restricted section, Wow! that literally piqued my curiosity. She also said that she gave our textbooks a read. I should have done that too, but I was too busy decorating my suitcase.
Avery also told me how she is excited about the secret passage ways that Hogwarts is filled with. Well, that makes two of us.

I replied, " I have a lot of hobbies. I like to read, write, sing, paint, I also play the violin. And I enjoy outdoor activities like horse riding and ice scating. Other than these two, I find fencing quite interesting, but otherwise I'm not much of a sport person. What abt you do you like any sports?"
I continued, " Also, I'm so sorry abt assuming you'd know abt the wizarding world, I seemed to have forgotten that not all people are aware of it. I hope you don't think wrong of me.
And abt your question, Durmstrang is one of the many other wizarding schools. Hogwarts is the one in Scotland, it takes students from England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. But there are wizards in other parts of the world too. The one in USA is Ilvermony, there's one in France called Beauxbâtons. The one near the Nordic countries in Europe is called Durmstrang. It takes students from Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Austria, and many more. It focuses more on Dark magic, and doesn't take any muggle-borns unless they vow to cut all connections with muggles. They feel that muggles are a threat to wizards. There are so many other schools too."
I further added, "Let me tell you a bit abt the subjects at hogwarts. The subjects we'll be having this year are- Potions, DADA (defence against dark arts), transfiguration, charms, history of Magic, care of magical creatures, herbology, flying, and astronomy. There are also some subjects we can take as electives from 3rd yr.
Potions is a bit like muggle chemistry, we mix different magical ingredients in a cauldron to make a concoction which has certain properties and uses. In DADA we'll learn a bit abt dark magic and majorly abt how to protect ourselves from it. Transfiguration is abt changing one object into another using spells. In charms we learn other spells that have different uses, they're not of specific purposes or types. In care of magical creatures we learn abt different magical animals and birds including unicorns and dragons, and we learn how to care for them. Herbology is abt magical plants, and astronomy, flying and history are exactly what they sound like."
" I hope you're coming to understand abt our world, you don't need to be afraid, if you have any other questions, you can ask me. Would you like to know abt different jobs wizards do? "
