New Ride, New Journey solo

This was it, this was finally it, my time to experience Hogwarts. I was awaiting this day since I received my acceptance letter. My parents and I walked towards platform 9 in King Cross Station. It was abt an hour from my home in
winchester to London. Although this wasn't my first time in London, it was my first time going to platform 9¾ and riding The Hogwarts Express. My mum told me that the platform was not visible to muggles, so I took it as a challenge to locate it. Who doesn't like a nice challenge.

On reaching platform 9 I started looking around for anything that would point me towards my platform. But to no avail, all I could see were brick walls. Then it suddenly struck me, What if the walls aren't what they seem, even if they weren't the way to 9¾, they could atleast be a clue. I rushed towards all the walls I could see at platform 9 and 10 but they all felt the same- solid and brick hard. I decided to wait there and observe around for any sign, but my mum approached me and said, "You're very close, you just need an adjustment of perspective and maybe a little bit of speed." Then I had the weirdest thought, why don't I try running at the wall. I wasn't sure I was thinking straight but who am I kidding, this was the magic world where anything is possible, or atleast, that's what I believed.

I braced myself and ran straight at the wall between platforms 9 and 10, I was sure I was gonna get fractured, but to my surprise, I passed straight through the wall, and soon my parents followed behind. For my dad, this was the first time seeing something like this, I really thought he'd freak out, but looks like mom gave him a heads up, cause he didn't look surprised at all.
Amongst the smiling faces of my parents and the hustle of the other families who came to drop off their children, there stood the Great and Majestic Hogwarts Express. It was unlike any other train I'd seen. It was ancient, classy and seemed to be running great. A lot of kids had started boarding the train and it was time for me too.

I looked at my parents' glistening eyes, though they were smiling I saw a hint of sadness. They'd miss me the same way I'd miss them, our joyfull Saturday morning games and Sunday picnics, brisk walks at the park when I'd complain abt sore feet. I wouldn't be able to those things with them. I wouldn't see them until Christmas, I'd never been this far apart from them.
It looked like they read my mind, "I know your nervous abt being away from us, but remember, we're just an owl away" said my dad. "Don't worry Darling, you'll make many new friends and have loads of fun, but remember stay safe and be true to yourself, and remeber we're always there for you no matter what." Said my mom

Their words cheered my up and I gave them a big hug as I got onto the coach. I found myself a seat and waved goodbye. This was a new journey I was embarking and I was more than ready for it, to take it in stride.
