It was a rather lovely day out, the sun shining cordially over the heads of the manifold students of Hogwarts as they traipsed over the lovely grounds, the grass lively and green, flowers blossoming in every color of the spectrum as birds flew overhead, whistling their beautiful songs into the crisp spring breeze. Such music seemed to echo through the halls of the school, reverberating off each and every wall and crevice, nature’s call to every single creature – who was loathe to ignore her? There would be no other reason for the Gryffindor boy to be taking a walk on a day such as today. Sure, he may have had homework to catch up on, but how could he ever maintain focus on such tedious problems when the day beckoned in such an acute way?
If it weren’t for the face of an angel, he may have never stopped to observe the activity that was to commence. A blonde sort of glow caught his eye, a flash of light – vision once trained on the passing trees and flowers, he’d turned acutely, his mouth slightly gaping as he scrambled to find what he had previously caught sight of. And there it was – Alan Vanes, in all of his handsomeness and glory. His savior. The kid who had removed the blindfold from his face. It was as if the proverbial heart-eyes had appeared in the eyes of the first year – why Alan would have done such a thing for him, he supposed he would never know. However, such actions certainly held value. Raf had never been a complex fellow, which meant that his emotions towards were quite simple to define, based on the actions of his peers. If Alan had rescued him from temporary blindness, then he had certainly gained an ally.
[Did ally do it justice?]
His mouth dry, eyes wide, he made a decision there in that moment – his feet abruptly carried him towards the gathered masses, a grin spreading across his face as the words floated to his lips. “Hey, Alan! What’s going on, mate?” he shouted over the gentle wind, waving at the kid with a smile. It would take him a moment to realize what was going on – was this the Tug of War game, in which the posters alluded to? Were those Alan’s flyers? He bit his lip in thought for a moment, crossing his arms as he considered the situation at hand, before continuing on. “You got room for one more?”

Wren was super excited.
She actually had plans after lunch. Earlier when she had glanced at the bulletin board, she had seen that there was to be a tug o' war, after lunch, and to make it even better Rafael was going to be there. She was up for some friendly competition, but it depended on what team they were going to be on. She hoped they were going to be against each other.
She quickly finished her lunch and headed out to the grounds. She saw that the only people she knew were Rafa, Adohiro from the MMM Club, and Alan Vanes who had set this up. She saw that this would be a chance for her to meet new people and grow old friendships.
"Hey!" She yelled to Rafa. "How are you?"
She walked over to where Rafa was.
"How's school been treating you? We haven't seen each other around much since that incident in the charms classroom."she chuckled remembering the incident where she had fainted at the sight of a snake.
"You fairing well?"
She looked around at all the other students on the grounds anxiously awaiting the announcement of the teams and the game itself. She herself was one of them.

Tug o' War
Aurelia had heard rumours of a game and subsequently gotten hold of one of the pamphlets advertising the game. Surprisingly, it was not one of the brutal S.W.A.G games she graciously provided her members with. Tug 'o War, a game which Aurelia had not heard of. A war of tugs perhaps? Nevertheless, that afternoon, in the pleasant weather of glorious Spring, Aurelia headed down to the grounds. She was merely curious what the game was all about. Was it another game club? A copycat of her own club? If so, S.W.A.G might lose its abundant supply of members.
At the ground's her eyes caught sight of a handful of the Spells, Wands and Games Club. The dhampir, Alan, Rafael and Anastasia, those two love birds. Ever since the last S.W.A.G game, their growing intimacy did not go unnoticed by the club founder, after all, in the night after the came she found the two snuggled up and dozing off on a red couch by the fireplace in the dormitory. Aurelia would be lying if she claimed they would not make a good couple. Both of them were Gryffindors, headstrong and stubborn. A perfect match. The only flaw was the fact that they knew too much about her, the two combined, posed a threat to her secrets. Nevertheless, Aurelia almost always got things her way.
The brunette advanced towards Alan, who Rafael and another Gryffindor girl whom she had yet to know stood beside in mid exchange of pleasantries. "Alan. Tell me, how is this war of thugs played?" She asked the other Gryffindor, a pleasant alluring air to her tone of voice with the intention to ease any tension present. Over the past few days, Aurelia has gotten whispers along the halls that a few younger years found her... intimidating, she couldn't understand why that was the case, given that she had not really many - or any interactions with most of the students who surfaced the fact. That aside, Alan was a third-year, it was unlikely he found her intimidating.
Aurelia acknowledged Rafael with another one of her glimmering smiles. Truth, after their last encounter, an interrogation which had led to a loss for the monster hunter, Aurelia would rather be as far away from the quidditch captain as she possibly could. He had seen a glimpse of her weakness. "I hope you recovered well from the last game," The boy happened to be the target of multiple knockback jinxes yet she did notice that not once in the game had he wield the wooden instrument and utter a spell. What Aurelia would conclude from that was that Rafael D'Spacito's finesse in magic was weak. "You should know that SWAG is the acronym for Spells, Wands and Games? I suggest using a few spells the next game. It might help you."

Alan did not have to wait for such a long time until the first student that was outside decided to approach the boy. It was a girl he has never met before and he was happy that he could attract the attention of a new face. "Hi, I'm Alan and it's a pleasure to meet you!", he recited his introduction that he had studied many times so that he would be able to introduce himself without a flaw. The first impression was important after all. "Y-Yeah, a game of T-Tug o' War b-but I'm not s-sure whether enough students w-will show up", he explained and with that he threw the first impression out of the window as he usually did. Another girl [River] approached and the third year recognized her from their shared club. She asked whether it would be okay for her to join since she had seen his flyer and a grin lit up his features and he nodded at her. "O-Of course!", he nodded at her, before introducing himself to the new arrival, Zyk.
He had not expected so many students to join him in that game, but he was pleasantly surprised. He saw a boy that he has met before and frowned slightly as the boy introduced himself. He had not wondered about what that name meant at all, but he assumed it would not hurt to know the meaning behind the name. Knowing himself however, he would probably quickly forget about the meaning as it was complicated enough already to just remember the name by what it was.
A girl [Maria] with what seemed like Asian roots joined the group and asked, whether this would be where the game of Tug of War would be happening. Right after her appeared another boy [Adam] and a girl [Ana]. Whereas the boy offered a smile, which Alan returned kindly, the girl kept to herself and Alan decided that this would be no issue for now. He hoped she was interested in the game though, but he would see about that soon enough. Rafael soon joined in and Alan's face lit up with excitement to see the other kid from the club and waved as he approached. "Y-Yes, I w-would be honored if y-you could join!", he mentioned his eyes brimming with wirth. He had done an attempt of helping the other boy in the last swag game and while he failed he assumed the thought counted. Even Wren joined soon after, a girl he mainly knew from the marzipan errand.
Another girl arrived a little late to the group and they turned out to be an uneven number. "S-Sorry Aurelia, w-we are an uneven n-number at the m-moment, but y-you can watch a-and be a reserve p-player?", the boy stuttered an apology as he glanced at the female. He hoped that she would not be mad at that, but he hoped for now it would be fun enough to her to watch the game.
He decided that this would be enough people for this game and cast another Engorgement charm onto the shoe lace, elongating it even further until it was approximately 15 meters long, which he assumed would make the game easier. After he pocketed his wand again, he smiled at the students around him. "F-For those of you wh-who do not k-know the game, it is qu-quite simple. W-We will divide i-in two teams and t-try to tug the r-rope in our t-team's direction. If you r-reach the marks y-you win the game!", he explained the basics before he began to randomly chose between the students to sort them into the teams. Based on height and looks he tried to make the teams fair but everything else was purely coincidental.
Now that he had chosen the teams for the students, he hoped he could just start the game. He threw one end of the enchanted rope over to Rafael, since he was the person he knew best from the other team. "Go a-ahead and get into p-position, once everyone i-is positioned you c-can start-" the third year would explain calmly as he took the other end of the rope and got into position. He hoped that Rafael would just go along with what he was doing, hoping he would be the one to guide his team since he seemed to be doing well at being social; at least if his memory of the previous games was not flawed.
-
As soon as everyone would be in their position, the third year would start the game by setting a count down. "Three, t-two, one- GO!". With the signal given and everyone at the rope and hopefully doing their best, he began to pull at the rope. "C-Come on we c-can do this, T-Team Blue!", he encouraged the students of his team to work alongside him and hoped that this would work the charm and help them somehow [Ability activated]. He was excited for this game and could not help but wonder which one of the teams would have the upper hand. He honestly had little clue about that, but he hoped the teams might be even just like they were which would make it certainly more interesting to see which team would end up winning the game.

Tug o' War
There were a few students there by the time Zyk had gotten there before, but the crowd sure did fill up quite fast. It was surprising to see how many people used the bulletin board and he made a note to keep an eye on it for the future. Things like this were a good way to meet people after all. Looking back over towards the older student who seemed to be running this event, he smiled as the boy talked, finding his stutter to be somewhat likable, unique even.
As Alan introduced the game and called out the different teams, he found himself measuring up all the students that had gathered. As he was sorted into his team, he gathered around the others that were pointed out by Alan and went to stand near them. "This seems like it will be fun," he had muttered under his breath as he began to roll up his sleeves and eye the other team for a moment. Looking to who Alan tossed the rope too, the older boy on his team whom name he hadn't caught, he gave a casual nod of the head.
Zyk had a competitive side to him, he always wanted to win, but where he grew up he knew by not winning you were at least learning. Letting the leader of their group direct them into the position he thought they'd be best in, Zykeal would make his way there and would grab upon the rope, testing his grip and setting his body weight and legs in a good position; wide and low. As all the others had taken their positions as well, he'd wait until the time was ready and when Alan started to count down, he just smiled and waited for that "GO!" to set his feet once more and gritted his teeth, pulling the rope in the struggle against the other team.

"Y-Yes, I w-would be honored if y-you could join!"
It was like listening to the song of an angel, Alan’s voice – Rafael could do nothing to stop his brain from utterly short-circuiting, his mouth hanging open as his eyes glazed over, mind racing to keep up with what the third year had just said to him. Alan was… honored? What did that even mean? Did Alan like him? Or, like like him? Was it just the third year’s way of making him feel good about himself? Was he being let down slowly? If anyone were to ask the boy about this instance in the future, he’d deny it ever happened – a small shock of color appeared in his cheeks. His hands hanging pathetically by his side, eyes wide, tense like a deer in headlights, all he could do was gape, words tumbling awkwardly out of his mouth. “O-oh,” he sputtered. “That’s, uh, awesome! Yeah. Yay.”
Jesus Christ, what the hell had just come out of his mouth? His face only continued to grow redder in that moment, and he found himself with the uncontrollable urge to smack himself for such idiocy – however, Aurelia gave him no such time for such turmoil, her silky voice rising up only moments after his utter brain fart. “I hope you recovered well from the last game," were the words that reached his pink-tinted ears, and he’d turned, immediately taking sight of the other first year, her pretty lips, long lashes, perfect features. If Aurelia weren’t so damn confusing, perhaps the boy would have found himself developing yet another infatuation. However, beauty was only skin deep, as was more than evident with Aurelia and her trigger-happy tendencies. He would do well to not associate her in anyway, lest he put his safety in peril. "You should know that SWAG is the acronym for Spells, Wands and Games? I suggest using a few spells the next game. It might help you."
Jesus Christ, this woman. It wasn’t as if the boy had any patience to spare for her on a normal day – too bad Alan was there, he wouldn’t be able to say any truly hurtful things. Instead, the young Captain opted to stick his tongue out, sending her a foul look, much like the immature eleven-year-old he was. “Make out with any boggarts?” came his snappy comeback, chin jutted out as he nodded in her direction. Not that such words would make sense to the typical onlooker, but Aurelia would know what he meant. She wanted to be a coward? Fine, that was her business. But he would certainly not take such blatant insults towards his ability to perform in a competitive setting. Whatever her insults meant.
It was then, that he would properly hear the 'hey' addressed towards his likeness – he turned, his eyes promptly catching the beautiful blues that belonged to his good friend, Wren. Her voice sounded airy, bouncy, as it always seemed to, her smile lively and energetic to the boy's senses. The result of such, being a smile, spreading over his features like a wildfire, his eyes glinting brightly as he considered the lovely girl in question. "School's been great, yeah?" he said, shrugging with a playful grin. "I've been fine – what about you, now? Picked out your dress for the Ball?" His voice was lilting, mischievous, his eyebrows wiggling in the most acute way as he allured to her Slytherin date, Victor.
The boy silenced himself about then, listening attentively to Alan’s instructions, silently mulling them over in his head. For all intents and purposes, it seemed like a typical game of Tug of War – such facts brought a smile to the boy’s face. It wasn’t often that one found themselves playing a typical muggle game in a school of magic. He was left to wonder, in that moment, what the significance was, or whether there was some magical aspect he had yet to realize. However, such thoughts were quickly stifled as a rope was thrown his way – his eyes widened once again as he stared down at the rope in his hands with slight disdain. Wait… he wasn’t on Alan’s team? What… what was the point of playing, then? Why throw him the rope? Why was Alan messing with his feels like this?
He shook his head, trying to block the thoughts that threatened to drown him. Well, what the fuck ever. If he wasn’t on Alan’s team, then he would try to at least impress him. It was no secret that the boy was successful in leading a team – he was Quidditch Captain, after all, which means he had experience in encouraging his players, all while pursuing successful plays and scrutinizing the other teams. It was then that he noticed the rosters, particularly that of the other side – Wren was on the Blue team? He squinted, trying to get a better look… well, what do you know. Alan has stripped him of his prize beater. An injustice.
Well, no matter. He could have had worse cards to play. Taking the rope, he flattened it out with a shake, backtracking so that he was near the back. Scanning his impromptu team, he analyzed the new faces, trying to read them for weaknesses and strengths. Then, returning the redhead’s nod with one of his own, “Sherman, you’re front. Mulan, behind him. Where’s the short kid?” He looked around, eyes drawing up no such fifth player. “Dammit," he muttered under his breath. Their odds were only decreasing. However, that wasn’t to say that they were at a disadvantage – his eyes quickly caught another familiar person, one of which he loved with all his heart and soul. Hamburger flipping hot. “Ana!” he exclaimed, a bright grin coming to his features. “Have you been here the whole time?”
However, there would be no time for pleasantries, as Alan was shortly rallying the attention of the group. It was then, that the boy would go Captain-Mode, his eyes narrowing in on the other team. “Let’s do this, boys,” he shouted to his gender-equal team, before yelling to the other side, a wry grin playing on his lips. “Eat dirt, Wren!” It would be the only words to leave his mouth, before the third year signaled the beginning of the game, and life became a trivial matter of pulling rope. Tug o' War
Mentioning: @Alan Vanes| @Rafael D'Spacito| @Anastasia Beckett| @Zykeal Lane
A few more people had arrived, an older Ravenclaw boy, two Gryffindor girls, and the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team who just seemed to radiate an almost arrogant confidence wherever he want.
When their game master had decided there were enough players, he grouped them into teams. They lacked players, so the teams were uneven. “Four against five, this shouldn’t be too bad.” Turning her attention to the boy giving the instructions, Maria also took a look at her teammates. She was the only badger in a pack of lions from the looks of it. The other girl on their team looked to be about Maria’s age, but she hadn’t seen her in classes so she assumed the demure girl was a second year. The other Gryffindor boy, was a ginger who was a bit taller than her, but she had seen him before. Her last team mate, the Quidditch captain was looking at the older Gryffindor who stuttered when he talked like he put the starts in the sky. She knew he had a bit of an attitude but seeing him in this moment fawning over an older, shy boy was something she was unlikely to forget.
While they waited to start Maria cracked her knuckles and rolled her shoulders back. Tug of war was something she enjoyed back in her muggle school. She was always included because people thought she was built a little sturdier than some of her other classmates, thanks to her years of swimming practices. Some of her old bullies didn’t let her forget it either and they made fun if her boyish physique. At least until there was an accident where they grabbed her and she accidentally hit a boy in the nose when she struggled. She wasn’t naturally violent, despite being someone who could stand up for themselves she never believed getting into a physical fight with someone over petty things. The boys who picked on her that day just failed to realize that just because she didn’t want to fight, didn’t mean she would take a beating.
Her thoughts were interrupted when the oh-so-great but also not bad looking Quidditch captain called everyone to get ready and into position. He also called her Mulan of all things.
She pursed her lips and raised her eyebrow in a sour look, the nickname wasn’t entirely appreciated and Maria just loved being told what to do. “He’s lucky he has a nice face.” The young Badger thought as she got into position behind the other Gryffindor boy on their team. When everyone was lined up she assumed a stance that she deemed would stop her from falling flat on her face. Once she was satisfied, she grabbed her portion of the rope, made sure she had a good grip, prayed that the rope burn wouldn’t be too bad and pulled like her life depended on it.

@Adohiro MoiraMore and more people began arriving after River had greeted the current students. Some definitely seemed to know Alan from before as well, and a few of the people who arrived had familiar faces from previous encounters. The girl who had arrived before River introduced herself as Cassie, River smiled and nodded «Nice to meet you Cassandra». River looked down at the rope on the ground in sync with Cassandra. «Oh, yeah I believe we’re playing tug of war», River assumed the girl was not a muggle born if she didn’t know of muggle games like tug of war.
River had her fair share of knowledge of this game, and it had caused many a good memories.
A boy walked up and said hi to the group, he introduced himself as well, though River thought his name was a bit difficult. She hadn’t heard of him before, and she couldn’t remember seeing him around either. He seemed like a shy type, as he looked away after making his presence known. River smiled and greeted him before her attention was caught by Alan who had started talking to the students that arrived.
Alan did a good job in explaining the game, simple and easy. River followed Alans lead as he stepped up and took hold of the rope. She grabbed a piece of the rope behind him and held it tight as she waited for a signal to begin the pulling.
Nerves were slightly kicking in as River knew very well she was not really strong, at all. Her strengths mostly laid in her brain and smarts, but not physically. Oh well, she was surrounded by friendly faces and this was all going to be good fun, so she attempted to shake the nerves away and focus on the game for now.
Soon enough, Alan began the countdown, and as soon as «GO» reached her ears, River began pulling at the rope with all her might, trying to work with the rest of her team. «Let’s do this team Blue!».Action || Pull the rope
