The grounds were sunny and bright that day. It was also most importantly covered in pink. Well I decided to be a good person. In other words I was helping clean up the castle of Pygmy Puff fur. I didn't have any spring allergies or any allergies at all so it was quite easy. When I walked outside I felt a blast of a perfectly beautiful spring day. The warmth of the sun hit my face. I didn't know it could get this nice in the Scottish Highlands. I joyfully walked down to the grounds. I was quite excited because Pygmy Puffs are soft and their pink. That's why I want one. But apparently they were very allergenic. I was very careful about picking my pet for next year because it needed to be perfect. I didn't have my best outfit on today because I didn't want to get my clothes all pygmyfied. I wore a simple pink shirt today with some cute cartoon characters on it. The bottoms was a cute pleated tennis skirt. I also wore a plush pink headband to keep my hair out of my eyes. (But it was mostly for aesthetics) I also had a practical ponytail today. It was a simple outfit but it did the job.I had a bag with me because I wasn't about to dispose of all of this fur, I was going to study it. Apparently it had magical properties that I wasn't going to waste. So I went around the grounds, taking in the fresh smells of spring. I spotted a streak of pink fur in a bush. "Wingardium Leviosa!" I said, and lifted the piece of pink fur into my bag. I smiled, I was being helpful to the people at Hogwarts. There were people everywhere. Obviously trying to earn favors. Some were using magic, some were doing manual work. I saw two Slytherins. One that i knew was a nice person. They seemed to be struggling. I went over to help. Rosie and the girl were next to each other so it wasn't hard to talk with them together. The girl seemed like she was tiered or had some type of sickness so i went to go help.

@Tina Carille@Dido Bleaklane4/17/26Rosie was...well, not having the best time of her life. See, she'd always had some pretty bad seasonal allergies, especially in Spring. She could already feel her nose plugging up, after only having been outside for a few minutes.
She'd heard that the thing to be doing was cleaning up Pygmy Puff fur, and she decided to join that 'party', and clear up some from the Grounds.
She sneezed, feeling her eyes begin to water. This was normal, and she decided to push past it. She had a broom and a bin bag, and was sweeping some of the fur into the bag.
As she was doing so, a bit blew away, and she caught it. As she moved it to the bag, she noticed just how soft it was, and in a gorgeous shade of pink.
She'd heard a whole lot about Pygmy Puffs, and had always been interested in them. Adorable little balls of fur that rolled around and squeaked? Um, yes please!
She shook her head a bit, flipping her ponytail, which wasn't doing much for her curly hair, back over her shoulder so it was out of her face.
"Oh, hi Dido! Fancy seeing you out here!" Rosie said, walking over to be next to her. She knew Dido from various meetings around the castle, and was happy to see her outside.
Then, someone walked over to them, after Rosie had continued with the fluff. It was Tina, who Rosie also knew!
"Hi, Tina! Good to see you! Cleaning up the fluff as well?" she asked, taking a quick break from the relentless sweeping to say hello.

Dido was sneezing. A lot. Which was unusual for her as, unlike her parents, didn’t really get hay fever at all. So, that was a strange mystery. Emphasis on was. Almost as soon as Dido made her way outside, she saw the problem.
On almost every single tree and bush there were small little tufts of pink fluff- a lot like candyfloss- and, as Dido approached one bush, she felt her nose itch and, with a volume and pitch that sent the nearby birds soaring away, she sneezed. It was a large sneeze, high-pitched and squeaky in the way that violent sneezes sometimes are, and it was quickly followed by two shorter sneezes in quick succession.
While recovering from this rather undignified moment, Dido noticed a blonde girl heading towards her- Rosie! Despite her running noise and red eyes, Dido grinned at the girl who quickly called out, “Oh, hi Dido! Fancy seeing you out here!”
In response and reflecting the Slytherin’s joyful tone, Dido ran over to Rosalyn while saying, “Hi there!” in a cheerful, if slightly stuffed up voice. Dido rarely got sick so hearing herself speak like this was an alien experience, recognised more from movies and TV shows than personal recollection. In fact, the last time Dido had been ill was before she had even known about Hogwarts when her mum got the flu from her students.
Drawing herself back to the conversation, Dido gestured to the bin bag in Rosalyn’s hands and said, “Goodness, you’re a life saver! All this fluff has… achoo!” Dido was interrupted by another pattern of sneezes which, thankfully, she managed to direct away from Rosalyn and into her elbow.
When she glanced back up from the trials of wiping her nose with a tissue she had shoved in her pocket before leaving the dungeons, another girl had joined them. Tina, from the train journey. Dido offered a small smile while Rosie greeted the girl, seemingly knowing her better than Dido did.
While the two began to talk, Dido finally decided she was absolutely sick of her watering eyes and stuffed up nose and constant, constant sneezing. So, without telling the girls beside her, she pulled out her wand, not even feeling the usual sensation of dread that came from seeing it in her hand, and, with slightly more anger than her spells were usually cast (or not cast), she pointed her wand at the nearby bush and said, “Scourgify!”
Now, whether this “cleaning” spell would have worked to detangle pink fur from a bush, we can never know because, instead of the expected bubbly foam that should have poured out, a small crack-bang fizzed out just past the end of her wand. Dido glanced at Rosie and Tina, somewhat embarrassed, and hoped-no, prayed to whichever being cared enough about Dido Bleaklane in that moment that the girls hadn’t noticed her failure. With the sickening feeling that once again washed over Dido at the sight of her wand, she tucked it back into her satchel, cheeks colouring in shame and some anger.
Dido forced a smile and said to the pair, “Let’s just do this manually!” in a bright and overly cheery voice. She crossed over to the bush which had been her target for the spell and, while blinking rapidly, reached her hand into the bush and managed to tug out some of the fluff which she quickly threw into Rosalyn’s bin bag. With an alacrity that even the most efficient professor would be proud of, Dido crossed from bush to bush, plucking out strands of pink and sneezing all the while.

Rosie's eyes were rimmed red. "Hi, Tina! Good to see you! Cleaning up the fluff as well?" I looked at her. "Yeah I am. Why aren't you using magic? It's MUCH faster." I said, making my wand steady. "For example, Wingardium Leviosa!" I said, doing the swish and flick movement. Then Rosie greeted another girl. Her name was Dido. Or at least that's how Rosie referred to her. She looked familiar enough because she was on the train with me. "Hi Dido! Long time no see!" I said in a joyful tone. This 'boring' job could be much better if I had friends to do it with. "Are you ok Rosie?" I asked after another sneeze. "Do you have allergies?" I asked, sympathetically. I immediately took her bag and started cleaning up fluff for her. I felt bad for Dido cause she sounded like an alien. "If we all work together we'll get this done much faster." I declared to the group becoming the unofficial leader. "We just have to clean up at LEAST one bag to help. Look how many other people there are. No I'm not trying to slack off, but it looks like Dido needs a nap and Rosie needs a tissue. Make that 100 tissues. " I said matter of fact. I started quickly cleaning up the Cotton candy and it made me crave Cotton candy. Next year my parents were going to let me get a pet for Hogwarts. I was still deciding and Pygmy Puff wasn't exactly off the list yet. I picked up a piece of fur. It was super soft and felt like Cotton Candy. Ok at this point I was just thinking about food. Before I knew it I cleaned up the entire bush. "We've got to minimize the amount of work we do. Dido do you have allergies? I was thinking we have two people picking up fur and Rosie holds the bag. " I said hoping that I wouldn't come one as a dictator. They know you Tina, they know that you are a bit of a perfectionist. Its ok. I thought as I continued to pick up Pygmy Puff fur. Cute things always have a dangerous side.

@Tina Carille@Dido Bleaklane4/17/26Rosie could feel tears streaming from her eyes, but it wasn't because she was upset. No, the watering was purely from the allergies. She really did hate them, but unfortunately, they weren't from a substance that would be just easy to get rid of. She was very happy that she wasn't allergic to the fur, but that didn't make being allergic to everything outside at all better.
"I'm game for that!" Rosie said, very, very stuffily to Dido's comment about doing this manually. That was her plan anyways, since she was too worried about her stuffiness making the pronunciation of a spell go wrong, then she would end up in a very sticky situation.
She knew that the reason Dido was suggesting this, however, was because of her little wand-issue that had just occurred. Rosie didn't judge her at all for the mistake, she actually quite appreciated the pink coming from the other girl's wand. She didn't make it seem as if she'd seen it though, not wanting to embarrass her friend.
Were they friends? Well, she hoped so. She'd made so many friends throughout her time at Hogwarts already, but she was always looking to make more. She didn't know how to tell though if someone felt the same way. She was a naturally friendly person, quite bubbly, and had a tendency to befriend nearly every single person that she talked to.
"Well, I don't feel like messing up the pronunciation of the spell, and making something bad happen." she said, the words not sounding as they should because of the stupid phlegm in her nose and throat. She was answering Tina, who didn't look like she was having nearly as hard of a time with the Spring pollen in the air all around them.
Rosie continued sweeping, listening to Tina speak as she did so. She managed to get a good sized pile of fluff, and she put that into the bag, happy with the amount that they'd gotten so far.
"Oh, yeah, I'm fine. *achoo* I do have allergies, just to the pollen. And the grass. And the bushes. And literally everything outside in the Spring. But hey, it's so worth it! My favourite season, how could I not be outside in this amazing weather?" Rosie said, trying to find a bright side to the situation.
"Yeah, I'm fine with working together! And a tissue would be nice, later though. We have some fluff to bag!" she said, continuing to sweep and put it in.
"Here, I can keep sweeping, we can prop the bag up like this. It'll be more efficient!" she said, not trying to disagree with Tina, but to make things go a bit faster for all of them.
She kept picking up the fur, starting to wonder about the animal that had shed it. Pygmy Puffs. Adorable, small, fluffy little creatures. She couldn't get them off of her mind.
Maybe she'd have to get herself one. Eh, probably not. But, if she came across one, you know, she wouldn't say no to taking it in. She loved the idea of having a pet, and was glad that students were allowed to, because it would be sad if they weren't!
"Okay, it's filled up! I'm going to go *achoo* grab a tiss*achoo*ue now!" she said, sad to leave her friends, but too desperate to have the time to care!
