Born in Dublin, Ireland on the thirteenth of December in 2008, she was given the name full name Cordelia Haneul Poults. Her name was chosen with much thought and consideration. Cordelia, meaning "heart of a lion" in French in order to honor her father's French roots, and Haneul, meaning "heavenly sky" in Korean to appease her grandparents who insisted on a Korean name that meant a lot to her mother's family. Her father is a French wizard who worked as an author, and who at the time was studying magical schools which is what lead him to Ireland. He fell in love with a muggle. She was a Korean exchange student when they met, in Ireland for a semester to learn English and study the unique architecture from all over the United Kingdom. In a moment, the stars aligned and the fates of two strangers were sealed together.

Growing up, Cordelia was not an easy child. She was constantly hyper and would always cause trouble in her classes. She never had a shortage of friends as she constantly surrounded herself with all types of people. Cordelia didn't care if someone was considered weird or popular, she saw everyone as equal and as a friend. This kindness, however, did not extend to adults. Cordelia found herself in trouble quite often, usually after making fun of a teacher during class. Cordelia was quickly branded as "the problem child."

The first appearance of her magic was on a seemingly normal Wednesday. Like every other day, Cordelia began to tease her teacher by calling her the wicked witch of the west. Her teacher snapped and couldn't handle her childish jokes. With the entire class watching on in amazement, the teacher told Cordelia what happened to "kids like her." She warned Cordelia that continuing her behavior would lead to her having no friends because of how annoying she was, then her lack of friends would cause her to get bad grades and become dumber than she already was. She told Cordelia that her parents would be disappointed in her and kick her out, forcing her to live on the streets. Cordelia felt anger bubbling in her chest and after her teacher finished chewing her out, she narrowed her eyes and willed something embarrassing to happen to her teacher. And just like that, a gust of wind seemingly came out of nowhere and blew papers all over the classroom as well as her teacher's skirt up, revealing her underwear in front of the class. The other kids howled with laughter, filling Cordelia's body with a warmth of satisfaction.

After that, the magical outbursts were smaller and less noticeable to those around her, but each small occurrence never failed to leave little Cordelia Poults in awe of her abilities.
