A Pufflish-Slytherin Abandoned

Lilith dragged her feet as she went to potions class, the walk in the corridor seeming to be shorter as each of her classes felt even longer. Despite the unwritten connection between Potions class and Slytherins, she never liked the class. Adding ingredients to a cauldron and getting a result from measurements just wasn't what she fancied. She would much rather be in Defence Against the Dark Arts, which was much more appealing to her than this. She liked learning about the creatures there and doing quick sketches of their anatomy, trying to position the limbs correctly to make a smooth and linear creature. Suddenly, her train of thought was cut short by an awful smell, coming from the cauldron of a Ravenclaw. They were attempting a Bruise-Healing Potion, but so far all of Lilith's attempts lead to deep bruising, a black eye, and severe joint pain. In need of something to do, she took out her sketchbook and quill and flipped to the back page, where she stored her notes on classes. She winced as she looked at the recipe; it called for horned slugs and caterpillars. She never liked harming animals- she wasn't a vegan, but just hated personally seeing animals die. To her dismay, she needed 3 caterpillars and 2 slugs. Bloody hell... she thought. They were also kind of weird to touch, almost like they were half liquid. After shielding her eyes and dropping in the critters, she finished it off with some pomegranate juice and... explosion. Thick yellow smoke rose from the cauldron as Lilith stood, cursing under her breath. Things get bad in potions when you add things in the wrong order, don't they always?
