		Zykeal wasn't used to being surrounded by this many people he hadn't known. It was an odd feeling for him, to not have anyone to hang out with, to not be able to go skate whenever he chose; a complete lifestyle change. It was taking him longer than he would have thought to adjust to such circumstances. Having not made any real friends at all, Zyk thought he was more of an outcast at this point in his life compared to how he was such a short time ago. A change of scenery was in order, having looked out his dormitory window before and noticing how beautiful the day was, he had gotten himself dressed for the casual day and made his way down to the courtyard. Zykeal was happy he could still have some of his normal clothes, those robes were just so cumbersome at times. Making the best of the situation, he stepped out into the courtyard and started walking out towards the grassy area. Walking slowly, he noticed there were a lot of different people enjoying the day as well, unfortunately, they all seemed to be in groups and have their own clique already.

Noticing a less crowded area with just one other person in the vicinity, he made his way towards it and decided to pass in front of the one that was sitting in the grass. Initially, he was hesitant to make any sort of eye contact at all, when people sit alone, they usually are choosing to do so on their volition. When he crossed though, he had made a peek towards the girl sitting there and noticed the shirt that she was wearing, "Wicked band there", he said aloud. A one-sided smile played across his features, almost a smirk, but more friendly.

A few feet he would keep walking before Zyk would stop and sit into the grass. As he sat, a tuft of his auburn red hair escaped from the grey beanie he was adorned. Raising his knees up closer to his chest, his arms would play across the top of his knees as his chin came to rest upon them. Enjoying himself in the sun for a while, he began to hum the tune to his favorite song, "Paint it Black", which would cause those lids to close over his dark golden hues.

"Wicked band there". Laila was so deep in thought that she jumped when she heard someone speak. She looked up and saw a redhead boy standing there. She didn't think she'd seen him before. He's probably new here or something Laila thought. He had a beanie on and was wearing all black. "Thanks. It's my favorite" Laila said. Then the kid smiled and Laila smiled back. Laila watched him as he walked a few feet away from her and sat down on the grass.
He definitely isn't the social type Laila thought to herself.

She stared at him a little longer before going back to daydreaming about how life would've been as a muggle and how she'd still be with her friends, then the boy started humming a song. It sounded really familiar but Laila couldn't put her finger on it because she couldn't hear him very well so she moved a bit closer. She recognized the song. "Paint it black" by The Rolling Stones. That song was one of her dad's favorites. He didn't like it as much as he liked "Bohemian Rhapsody" of course but it was definitely up there.

Laila hesitantly faced the boy"'Paint it black' You like that song too? It's one of my dad's favourite" Laila said smiling softly. Meeting someone who seemed to like the same music as her just seemed comforting somehow.

As he sat down it was then he registered the girls' words on that it was her favorite, he wasn't sure if it was her favorite shirt or band. Regardless though, Zyk thought she had good style. Lids closed over those dark golden hues and he let himself relax for a moment as he hummed to himself. After a moment, that little sixth sense that people get sometimes when they feel someone has moved or looked in their direction came over him.

A half-smile pushed once more across his features as he lifted his lids and tilted his head in the girls direction as she spoke to him. "Yeah, by The Rolling Stones. Great band that is", he remarked. Shifting his position slightly, he raised his chin off his arms and looked over towards the girl properly and gave a little nod, "It's not my favorite band of all time, but they have some killer songs."

Letting his arms drop from his knees, he started to pick at the grass with his hands. Taking little tips off the ends of the grass and letting them fall from his fingers as he shifted his gaze downwards to what he was doing. "So... you like Queen? What other bands are you into?", he questioned. A common ground, he thought even though he was hesitant, was always a way to possibly make a new acquaintance.

A curt nod was given as she listed off the bands she listened too, the modern ones he wasn't really informed on so he focused his attention more on the older stuff that she had mentioned, "I haven't been much into modern stuff, the only place we had internet was at my school back home.. you might have to show me them some time" he commented a little shyly before she continued on.

Nodding along as she talked about the different songs that she enjoyed, Zyk would lift his form up a little and scrunch a little closer to the girl to fill the distance between them so he could be more engaged in the conversation. "I don't think I've heard that one by Queen honestly, most of their stuff is pretty good though." he smiled to her before awkwardly looking down into the grass in front of him.

As she continued on, offering her name, he'd look back up and gave a genuine smile as he offered up his hand, "Right on, name is Zykeal. Most people back home just call me Zyk though for short. A Gryffindor..." he commented, letting that little bit at the end linger. "Nice to meet you, you seem cool Liala. Are you a first-year or...?" a feeling that this was a great common ground for a conversation and he was extremely comfortable conversing for once.

[font=times new roman]Zykeal nodded, a slight smirk shifted upon his face as she told him about Linkin Park and went on about them, he made a mental note to write the bands name down when he would go back to his dorm later in the evening. "I'll definitely have to check them out, that's for sure," he offered as he let his hands come to rest behind him as he leaned back into the sun of the courtyard and let his eyes close as he listened to her continue on as she mentioned another band called Skillet. "Don't say you like Skillet!" he couldn't help but turn his head towards her and roll those golden hues of his.

A light laugh followed as he looked over towards the girl, "Sorry, I'm just not a fan Their songs aren't just catchy for me," he finished as he hoped she wouldn't take offense to this. When she mentioned the other song though, he perked up, "Yeah for sure, that's a good song that is," he said before continuing, "You know the song "Are you gonna be my girl"?" he questioned, "That's a good one, good dance song that's for sure!" he finished. Thinking that he missed dancing in his room back in his muggle world that he only knew before this school year had started.

Thinking about music got him slightly depressed for a moment, "Total drag no electronics work here though, could use for a gold old fashioned iPod or something. Hell, I'd settle with a classic tape thing that my moms used back in her day," a sigh coming from him as he sat up once more and looked out over the courtyard at all the others who were gathering there that day. "what a drag," he muttered. Looking back to Laila though, he smiled once more, "If you had to pick one song, what would it be?" he questioned, "I think mine would be Scar Tissue by the Red Hot Chili Peppers." Zyk realized then that he might be talking a little too much and shifted his attention towards the grass in front of him and let his fingers start picking at the tips of the grass.
